Where did the past go to
Redacted and unknown
Time is moving faster through
The fiction being shown
Bookworms crawl the halls of knowledge
In rank and file gyrations
Sycophantic scribes abolish
Ancient generations
Reaching out for cloudy dreams
With palms of apprehension
Vicious surreptitious schemes
Are rarely ever mentioned
Pillars of pomposity
Stand on bloody soil
Killers of veracity
Reap the royal spoils
The manic oceanic void
Is feisty with frenetic fury
Yet even death cannot avoid
The judgement of the jury
Footprints fade on jaded shores
To wash out with the tide
Who we were before the war
Is lost between the lines
