00:01 - Coffee break with me, woo!
00:03 Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.
00:05 How are you today?
00:06 Today I'm here with my third installment
00:08 to my top five series with my best friend, Samantha.
00:12 This is probably gonna sound like a broken record,
00:14 but if you don't know, or if you haven't been here
00:17 for the last two weeks, my best friend Sam and I
00:19 are doing a collaboration where each of us tell you
00:22 about our top five blank, our top five blushes,
00:26 highlighters, whatever.
00:27 And so the reason behind doing it as a series collaboration
00:31 is because we have different skin types, skin tones,
00:34 and preferences in general.
00:37 There are times where she's like,
00:38 "Hey, you need this in your life,
00:39 "and I'll put it on," like mood exposure, you guys.
00:42 She went on and on and on about how hourglass mood exposure,
00:46 that blush, is beautiful.
00:47 It looks like someone took a bat and punched me in the face.
00:51 Wait, you don't punch with a bat.
00:52 You know what I'm saying, right?
00:54 It looks atrocious on me.
00:56 So it kind of goes to show how certain things,
01:01 even though I'm a firm believer in wearing
01:02 whatever the heck you want,
01:04 some things are meant to look better on others.
01:07 So that's an example.
01:08 So I'm kind of excited about what she decided
01:11 because she hates bronzer.
01:13 Like, I'm sorry, Sam, I'm selling you out,
01:16 but she's always like, "Oh my God, I hate bronzer.
01:18 "I never use bronzer.
01:19 "I'm too fair.
01:20 "It looks bad on me.
01:21 "Like, I look, what is going on with my hair?
01:23 "Like, what is this situation?"
01:25 So she says like, "Oh, you know, I just don't do it."
01:30 So I'm kind of wondering what she's gonna share
01:32 with you guys.
01:33 And I'm kind of the reverse of her.
01:36 She loves cool-toned sculpting things.
01:40 So like really ashy gray-looking things,
01:43 powders, sculpting things.
01:48 And I can't, I cannot for the life of me use cool tone
01:52 or ashy type of sculpting products
01:57 because it looks so bad on me.
01:59 I look dirty, like super dirty.
02:02 So I'm gonna share with you guys the ones that I like.
02:04 And keep in mind that these are sculpting/bronzers.
02:09 So these are the ones that I prefer how they look on me
02:12 and for my purpose.
02:13 I don't do really strong contouring.
02:17 I don't do the whole Kim Kardashian highlighting
02:20 and cooking or baking or whatever that's called.
02:22 You know what I'm talking about?
02:23 Where you put like the excess powder here and here
02:26 and you cook the bronzer or the contour.
02:28 I can't do that.
02:30 I'm not a professional.
02:31 I'm a mom.
02:32 Like I hang out with my kids all day and I cook and clean
02:36 and I just play with makeup for fun.
02:37 So I'm not about that life.
02:39 So these are just products that help me do this,
02:42 subtle type of carving out the cheekbones
02:45 or give me a little bit of color on my face.
02:47 So if you're kind of on my boat where you're like,
02:50 "I just wanna wet my toes, I'm a little nervous,"
02:53 or I don't have a purpose for severe extreme sculpting,
02:58 then this is the place for you.
03:03 Let's go ahead and get started.
03:04 The first one that I wanna share with you guys
03:06 is NARS Laguna and this is a,
03:09 I think it's a limited edition set that just came out.
03:12 But NARS Laguna was the very first bronzer
03:14 that I ever used and I really liked it.
03:16 I hit pan, I used it.
03:17 I mean, as a makeup lover,
03:20 you know how hard it is to hit pan on things.
03:22 And so I finally replaced it
03:24 because it's just really one of my favorites.
03:26 This set right here comes with a mini Ida brush.
03:31 This is like used for that, I don't like it.
03:36 But it's mini, right?
03:37 So it's really soft.
03:39 It really does a really great job,
03:41 but I don't have anywhere to go
03:45 where I wanna have those beautiful Kim Kardashian cheekbones
03:48 you know what I mean?
03:49 So I really, I don't have much use for this little brush.
03:52 But the color itself is really nice
03:53 because it's a warm slash almost neutral bronzer.
03:58 It has a slight sheen to it.
04:01 It's not really obvious in the pan,
04:03 but it's almost like a satin slash matte finish.
04:07 So it's pretty flattering on most people.
04:10 I mean, this is something,
04:12 this is a type of powder that you could use for contouring
04:15 or for bronzing up the face.
04:16 Do you see that sheen that I have on my finger?
04:19 So also another thing that you wanna keep in mind
04:22 is that NARS Laguna looks deeper in the pan
04:26 than it actually shows up on the skin.
04:30 You see, when you look at it in the pan,
04:32 it looks a lot darker, but it really isn't.
04:34 This was my first
04:35 and it's always gonna be my first bronzer love.
04:38 The second one that I wanna share with you guys
04:40 is really expensive,
04:42 but this is as cool as I'll go to create shadowing.
04:47 And this is the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar
04:50 Bronze and Glow Palette.
04:52 It comes with a highlighter and a bronzer,
04:55 but this is a, this is cool as I'll go,
04:58 but again, it's more of like a neutral
05:00 to cool type of bronzer.
05:03 And I just love it.
05:05 It's like buttery soft.
05:07 It has just a hint of gray to it.
05:09 So I can really like carve out
05:12 or sculpt out areas of my face
05:14 when I'm feeling kind of fancy.
05:16 And it's kind of one of those makeup products
05:20 that makes you feel like you're doing a really good job
05:24 or you're being kind of makeup artist-y
05:26 and it's hard to mess up.
05:28 So that is this color right here.
05:31 So you see how it really does give that shadowing
05:33 even though it's still not a gray
05:35 or an ashy toned sculpting powder or bronzer.
05:40 Another one that I really like,
05:41 and this one is more of for coloring my face
05:45 or bronzing my skin,
05:46 making me look like I got a little bit of sun.
05:48 This is Tan Toffee from e.l.f.
05:51 And I believe e.l.f. has four different
05:53 pressed mineral bronzers.
05:55 This is the one that's suitable
05:57 or flattering for my skin tone.
06:00 I like it because it's a really warm brown right here.
06:05 But once you blend it out on the skin,
06:07 it's like, oh wow, she was in the sun getting a healthy tan.
06:11 That's that one right there.
06:13 Is this video kind of boring?
06:14 'Cause they're very similar,
06:16 but trust me, on the skin they do look different.
06:19 So that's the e.l.f. one in Tan Toffee.
06:22 And I don't know how much it is.
06:23 I think maybe $1 or $3.
06:26 It's pretty affordable.
06:28 The other one that I wanna share with you guys
06:29 is the Naked Flush Palette in Native.
06:32 The reason I wanted to mention this one
06:34 is because the trio itself pairs really well together.
06:39 So even though we're talking about bronzers,
06:42 these three in combination make a really good trio.
06:45 So I wanted to kind of share that with you guys.
06:48 This bronzer is a little orangey,
06:51 but it's very soft and easy to blend out.
06:55 So if you have light to medium skin tone, I would say,
06:59 you could use it to carve out your cheekbones gently
07:03 because it's very warm,
07:05 or you could give your face a lot of color.
07:09 So that's that one right there.
07:10 You see how it's a lot more warm?
07:12 It's almost a little reddish too.
07:14 So I really like that.
07:15 And the blush in here, you guys,
07:17 it's like Barbie pink.
07:19 It's really pretty.
07:20 And of course I saved the best for last,
07:23 the My Sculpted Face Palette from It Cosmetics.
07:25 I've mentioned this in several videos.
07:27 I'm going to do a,
07:30 I'm going to do my contour routine video
07:34 with It Cosmetics next week.
07:35 So I really hope you guys will tune in and check it out.
07:38 I love this palette.
07:40 Mentioned it in favorites.
07:41 I've talked about it before.
07:43 When this came into my life,
07:44 I stopped using all other contouring palettes
07:47 that were trendy.
07:48 In fact, I didn't even buy the Kat Von D one
07:51 because I was like, no,
07:52 there's no way that I'm going to find something
07:54 that I like more than this one.
07:56 This is one of those tricky palettes
07:57 because you're like, is it warm?
07:59 Is it cool?
08:00 What is it?
08:01 Like what's going on here?
08:02 It gives you so much movement, so much wiggle room.
08:06 You're like, okay, you know, for example,
08:09 for my general everyday,
08:12 like basic contouring routine
08:16 as a mom and a stay at home wife,
08:17 I mean, I'm not going to do anything crazy.
08:19 I use these two.
08:20 I mix them together and they look beautiful.
08:23 When I want to add color to my face,
08:25 like I got a little bit of a tan,
08:26 I'll use this shade down here.
08:28 And then these two shades up here are awesome
08:31 because this is a matte white or translucent.
08:34 And then this one here is a highlight shade.
08:37 And I know we're talking about bronzers,
08:38 but I have to show you this.
08:40 Like, you're not going to believe the magic
08:42 that is this highlight shade.
08:44 When you swatch it, you're like,
08:46 oh my God, Dani, that is white.
08:49 But let me put it on my skin and blend it out.
08:52 And look at this.
08:54 Right?
08:58 I know we're talking about bronzers,
08:59 but this palette is awesome.
09:01 So if you're on the same boat as me,
09:03 where you're like, Dani, listen,
09:04 I'm not about to do the whole Kim Kardashian
09:06 reverse triangle, crazy sculpting, carving out of my face.
09:09 I just want something fun and easy.
09:11 I want to give my face structure and dimension.
09:14 These are the products that I like to use
09:16 when I like to pretend that I'm like, you know,
09:19 a really awesome makeup artist.
09:20 This is what I do.
09:21 I keep it simple.
09:22 I just like to pop out my cheekbones.
09:24 I like to hide my double chin.
09:26 And I like to give myself a little bit of color
09:28 around my hairline.
09:29 That's it.
09:30 That's all I like to do.
09:32 And the way that I do that
09:32 is using these bronzers right here.
09:34 So if that's kind of what you're interested in
09:37 and you have neutral to warm undertones,
09:39 you're light to medium, I mean,
09:41 I would say even deep because this palette here is awesome.
09:44 This shadow, or this shadow,
09:46 you could use it as an eyeshadow.
09:48 This color here is really deep.
09:50 Look at that.
09:52 I mean, this is a friendly palette.
09:54 This one's like, hey girl, I love you too.
09:56 Look at this.
09:58 I mean, this palette,
10:00 this is turning into a review on this contouring palette.
10:02 So if you guys are on the same boat as me
10:04 and this is what you look for,
10:06 these are my top five favorites.
10:07 I really hope you guys enjoyed it.
10:08 When you're done watching me in a couple of seconds,
10:11 make sure you go over to Sam's channel
10:13 and see what her five favorites are.
10:14 You guys, I am dying to see what she talks about
10:17 because, like I said, she don't like them bronzing powders.
10:21 So I'm really eager and excited
10:23 to see what she decides.
10:25 I should probably just text her right now
10:26 and be like, hey, what are you gonna talk about?
10:28 But that would be cheating.
10:29 Anyway, I'm gonna link all of these products
10:31 and Sam's video and Sam's channel
10:33 in the description box below.
10:35 And I think that's it, guys.
10:36 Please let me know your thoughts
10:37 in the comments section below.
10:38 And as always, if you found this video useful,
10:40 entertaining, or something,
10:42 please give me a thumbs up
10:43 or subscribe if you haven't already.
10:45 And until next time,
10:46 this coffee break is over.
10:47 Bye, guys.
