00:38 Today I'm here with an are they worth the hype video on the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip.
00:44 These are the newest babies of Colourpop.
00:48 You and I both know that Colourpop comes out with new products, I don't know, faster than,
00:57 help me out here I need an example.
00:59 I'm good at one liners and right now I'm just dry.
01:01 So when these came out I think the last week of June, you guys broke the internet.
01:12 You guys broke the internet harder than Caitlyn Jenner.
01:16 So these are a $6 lip product from Colourpop.
01:21 They're lippy sticks and lippy pencils.
01:22 Their first lip products are $5 each.
01:27 You can see them back there in that little cup holder.
01:29 You guys always ask me about that.
01:30 Side note, that little cup holder is a cotton swab and cotton ball holder from Amazon.

01:40 It's perfect for those because it has a wider hole and then a smaller hole so for the matching
01:45 lip color and lip pencil it's perfect.
01:48 So there are 25 or 26 colors in the collection.

02:36 Anyway, so these are the mattest long wearing lip color that I've ever tried.
02:45 I mean the mattest.
02:46 I didn't know there could be levels of mattness but these are super crazy, hella matte on
02:53 crack.
02:54 I mean super matte.
02:56 But they're not uncomfortable.
02:58 It feels like you're wearing powder on your lips.
03:01 Do you know when you are, I don't know if you guys do this, but when I'm doing my makeup
03:05 I put foundation on my lips and then when I powder my face I'll powder my lips as well.
03:12 That's what it feels like.
03:13 I don't feel like I'm wearing anything right now.
03:16 I feel like I just accidentally went over my lips with powder.
03:19 Or when you're trying to make a lip color matte and you put, you know, you lightly dust
03:25 it with translucent powder over the top, it's exactly what it feels like.
03:30 I can't feel it.
03:31 Like I can't feel like I'm wearing a lip color.
03:33 So I can wear a bright, bold lip with confidence and I'm not like, "Is it on my teeth?
03:38 Is it on my teeth?"
03:39 Or doing this like every five seconds.
03:40 Anyway, I'm going to bring you guys in closer to show you a little bit more of the packaging
03:44 and kind of like my thoughts on the product.
03:46 But if you're in a rush, yes, they're worth the hype.

04:49 I'm not about to swatch all these colors, but I will tell you my thoughts on them and
04:53 then you guys can decide if you want to purchase them.

05:07 Anyway, so for these lip colors, I totally think they're worth the hype.
05:11 I mean, they're $6.
05:13 My favorite long-lasting liquid lipstick is from Kat Von D, and those are I think $20,
05:20 so it's less than half the price.
05:22 And I like them just the same.
05:24 The packaging looks like this.
05:26 It's a really sturdy, clear plastic tube with a silver cap and the holographic logo or font
05:32 on it.
05:34 The applicator is a classic doe foot applicator.
05:37 It's not one of the flat, double-sided ones.
05:40 It's a classic doe foot applicator.
05:43 This lip color dries really fast.
05:48 This is not one of those liquid lip colors that you can layer.
05:53 One swipe and that's your one shot.
05:56 You cannot layer this lip color.
05:58 I think that might be where some people have said that they don't like them.
06:04 I have pretty big lips, so I use the entire amount of the doe foot applicator on the bottom.
06:12 I re-dip and use the entire amount on the top.
06:16 You get one chance to apply this lip color, and if you can't do it on the first try, remove
06:22 it and start all over.
06:24 Another product that really helps the Kwan application is ... Oh God, I almost fell down.
06:31 Is MAC's Prep and Prime Lip Primer.
06:34 If you put on a lip primer, it's going to allow for a longer and smoother application.
06:40 If you have dry lips or you tend to have dry lips, this is a product that requires lip
06:47 exfoliation.
06:49 My favorite lip exfoliator is from e.l.f.
06:52 Exfoliate those lips, moisturize them while you're doing your face, while you're putting
06:56 on your foundation, your concealer, your eyes, all that stuff.
07:00 Apply a lip balm or a lip primer and really hydrate your lips so that when you go in to
07:04 apply this product, it's not going to cling to any areas of your lips.
07:09 It's not going to emphasize wrinkles.
07:13 It's going to give you a seamless application.
07:16 Another tip that I have for you guys is that when you're applying it, do this.
07:23 Stretch out your lip.
07:26 You guys are totally going to screenshot that and you're going to make a hilarious meme,
07:29 aren't you?
07:31 Stretch out your lips so that you can apply color in every nook and cranny of your lips.
07:38 Even though when your lips shrink back to their normal size, the color will settle into
07:42 your fine lines.
07:44 It's better than when you're talking and you stretch out your lips, your lips crack and
07:50 then there's no color where you should have applied color.
07:53 Do you know what I'm saying?
07:55 Some people have said that these are kind of flaky or they kind of ball up.
08:00 The only way or the only time they ball up is when you have chapped lips and they get
08:04 trapped under your little bits of skin or you try to layer the color.
08:10 These do not play nice with layers, you guys.
08:13 I'm telling you, you get one shot and that's one thin layer and one thin layer.
08:19 It dries really super hella fast, so you want to make sure that you apply it as quickly
08:24 and precise as you can.
08:27 But all in all, these lip colors last all freaking day.
08:31 They don't give you that white rim around the center of your lips.
08:35 They're so comfortable.
08:38 There is no stick to them at all.
08:42 They kind of remind me, but it's nothing too dominant.
08:46 With the Kat Von D ones, you can smell it when you're applying it.
08:50 With these, you really can't.
08:51 It dissipates right away.
08:52 Another concern that I've heard is that they leak.
08:56 I haven't had that issue yet and I've been playing with them a lot.
09:03 What some people are saying is that when you stick the doe foot applicator back in, it
09:08 kind of spits product back out and it gets stuck here in the neck and then it'll spill
09:13 out.
09:14 Or that if you store them sideways, that the product will leak out.
09:18 I've had mine stored sideways like this since they arrived, so several weeks now and I haven't
09:25 had any problems with them leaking.
09:26 So all in all, I would say they are definitely worth the hype.
09:29 I'm going to share some of my favorites with you guys.
09:32 The first one that I want to show you is called Highball and it's a really beautiful electric
09:37 pink.
09:38 That's, oh God, you guys.
09:41 I wore it in, I think my empties video.
09:44 Another one of my favorites, where is that?
09:48 Another one of my favorites that I was also wearing in several other videos is Donut and
09:53 that is just a really beautiful peach.
09:56 It is looking whack as heck on camera.
09:59 Okay, there we go.

10:04 Let's see.
10:06 This other one here reminds me of Frida and it's called Solo.
10:10 Solo, I believe.

10:26 Everyone is going bonkers over Bumble, but I prefer Tool over Bumble.
10:31 This is a really beautiful classic, no, no, no, not classic chocolate brown.
10:38 It's almost like an orangey burnt brown.

10:46 Let me show it to you guys just so that you know what I'm talking about.
10:50 This is Bumble right here and it's like the Kylie Jenner lip that everyone is still going

10:56 That's that one right there.
10:59 It looks so strange on my skin tone, doesn't it?
11:03 That's that one that everyone really likes.
11:05 That one's probably going to be sold out for life.
11:07 The one that I'm wearing right now is this one and that's Avenue.
11:12 Just such a pretty burnt red.
11:14 How beautiful is that?
11:16 You can see the streak marks.
11:17 I just kind of did a sloppy swatch.
11:20 You don't want to go over back and forth, back and forth.
11:24 Then this one, I'm loving this one.
11:27 Look at that.
11:29 You've got to be brave to wear that color.
11:33 This is the color Litchi.
11:35 That's the color Litchi.
11:37 All in all, they're definitely worth the hype.
11:40 If you don't like ultra matte lips, if you don't like long wearing liquid lip colors,
11:44 you're not going to like them.
11:45 If you do, you're going to love these.
11:48 The formula is so thin but so pigmented.
11:53 You don't feel like you're wearing a thing and you don't need to reapply.
11:57 Always remember, don't layer it and use a lip primer underneath.
12:00 If you have one, a MAC Prep and Prime or you could even do a really brief exfoliation and
12:06 then a thin layer of Chapstick underneath and you are all good to go.
12:10 They're comfortable, you guys.
12:11 I promise you, you'll forget you're wearing them.
