00:00 Coffee break with me.
00:02 Woo!
00:03 Hi guys!
00:04 Welcome back to my channel.
00:05 Today I have a different video for you guys and I came up with this idea to do this video
00:13 in particular because I do get several questions every time I post a tutorial or if for some
00:19 reason my eyes look kind of strange in a picture on Instagram or whatever, you guys ask me
00:24 about my mirror.
00:25 And I thought, okay, well it's not a lipstick or a foundation that I'm talking about, but
00:30 it is beauty related so I could do a video on it.
00:34 I don't know if it, maybe you're not even watching this video, maybe I'm just here sitting
00:38 here talking to myself and I'm going to get like two views, two views on this video.
00:45 So this video is about my simple human mirror.
00:48 And I have a problem, like a legitimate problem where I hate darkness.
00:57 I do not like, I don't like closed curtains, I don't like closed blinds, I don't like lights
01:05 turned off.
01:07 And my husband is the total opposite.
01:10 His office, he painted it like a dark navy and he took out, he painted it a dark navy
01:16 and then we have like the ceiling fans with the light fixtures and four light bulbs.
01:20 He took out two of the four light bulbs because he likes to be in dim, dingy, dark light and
01:24 I need crisp, clear, I mean I replaced all my kitchen light bulbs with LED lights because
01:31 I need just that bright, I want it to hurt when I look at the lights.
01:36 So when I was looking for the perfect mirror to do my makeup, I was like everything is
01:43 dingy, everything is like yellowy, it doesn't, it doesn't help me.
01:49 I want to do my makeup where the way that I do it here on my vanity is the way that
01:55 it's going to look when I leave my house and I look in the car mirror or I look in my compact
02:00 or I walk past a display mirror at a department store and I don't look, you know what I mean?
02:09 Very different from what I imagined in my head or my mirror said I looked like.
02:14 So when I was searching for the perfect mirror, I came across this one from Simple Human and
02:19 I'm going to be honest, I was like $200?
02:22 Are you kidding me?
02:24 This is insane.
02:26 I literally purchased it like three months after it was released.
02:31 So the mirror wasn't available anywhere except Amazon or SimpleHuman.com and it was $200
02:37 everywhere.
02:38 I went to two places, $200.
02:39 There was no, it wasn't cheaper, there wasn't a deal, there wasn't a coupon and you guys
02:44 know how I feel about promo codes and coupons.
02:47 So I just bit the bullet and it has been the best investment and I'm serious.
02:53 I mean it's been the best investment from anything that I've purchased to make my beauty
02:59 life easier.
03:00 It's been the best investment ever.
03:02 So let me kind of walk you through why it's so cool and why it's awesome and maybe you'll
03:07 change your mind and you'll be like, "Yeah, I need to stop buying these really cheaper
03:11 ones that, they don't help.
03:15 They don't show you the truth."
03:16 Here it comes in a box like this and it's a really, really big, let me, it's so big
03:23 I can't even get it in the shot.
03:25 It's a really big box.
03:26 I keep everything.
03:27 Everything that I buy, like my camera's box, my lighting, the box, I keep all those boxes.
03:35 You never know when you're going to need them.
03:36 So this is the box it comes in.
03:38 The cool thing about this mirror is that it is cordless and it doesn't need batteries
03:43 and it doesn't need light bulbs.
03:45 So it is an LED mirror and it mimics daylight.
03:50 It doesn't mimic fluorescent lighting.
03:52 It doesn't mimic bright lights.
03:54 It doesn't just do bright lights, warm lights, cool lights.
03:56 It mimics daylight.
03:57 So the way that you look in the mirror is exactly the same way you're going to look
04:01 when you walk out the door.
04:03 But here's a confession, because it is a five times magnification, when you look at yourself
04:12 in this mirror the first couple of times, you may suffer from depression because it
04:17 shows you everything.
04:19 Wrinkles, spots, freckles, clogged pores.
04:25 I mean, if you missed a spot, it shows you everything.
04:30 So at the beginning it can be a little hard to get used to because you see everything.
04:37 But once you get past that magnification, it's awesome.
04:43 My mom bought it as well.
04:45 My mom uses glasses.
04:47 She is of a more mature wise age and she really likes it.
04:54 It kind of becomes something that you sort of depend on because it steps up your game
05:02 on how you do your face.
05:04 Whether you're plucking your eyebrows or applying false lashes or anything that requires the
05:10 most intense focus or detail, it does such a great job.
05:15 So let me show you guys the mirror, what it looks like.
05:19 It's totally going to blind you.
05:20 Do you see the light?
05:21 It's a ring that goes around the mirror and that's what mimics daylight.
05:26 So when you look at yourself in the mirror, this is the sensor, it turns on.
05:31 It automatically turns on and turns off.
05:34 So you don't have to push the on and off button that's down here every time you're going to
05:39 use it.
05:40 You charge it via USB, so it comes with a little AC adapter like this and a cable.
05:46 Once it starts to shine red like this, it means you need to recharge it.
05:52 Mine said that you charge it like every month or you could use it every day for an extended
06:00 period of time.
06:01 I don't remember what was the amount of time they said and the charge lasts.
06:05 It doesn't.
06:06 My charge doesn't last that long and I don't do my makeup every day, so I don't use the
06:11 mirror every single day.
06:12 The charge does not last that long.
06:15 So that is my only downside I think.
06:21 And the fact that the little connector piece is kind of flimsy.
06:26 So you never feel like...
06:28 You know when you connect your iPhone, you hear that click almost when you insert the
06:32 charger?
06:33 This one just kind of loosely fits in.
06:35 So I may have just gotten a crappy one, but that always kind of makes me feel a little
06:39 insecure.
06:40 But that might also have to do with the fact that my charge doesn't last that long.
06:44 It still lasts like two weeks or something, so I can't really complain, but it doesn't
06:50 last as long as they say it does.
06:52 The other cool thing about it is that it moves up and down.
06:55 So you see that?
06:56 It goes up and down and then it moves this way and this way.
07:00 So you can adjust it to how you're sitting, how you're doing your makeup.
07:05 I'm very tall and I like to sit very high up.
07:09 So when I'm sitting here and doing my makeup, I have to raise the neck as far up as it can
07:14 as it goes, and then I can look in the mirror.
07:16 You can see how intense the light is.
07:19 You see the ring in my eyes?
07:21 Some of you have asked me, "What is that weird light in your eyes?"
07:23 So that's basically what it does.
07:26 When you look at yourself in the mirror, it shows you everything from the exact shade
07:33 of your eye color, from that one hair you missed on your eyebrows, to if you overlined
07:39 or underlined your lips, if there's fallout.
07:42 Another thing that is really cool about the mirror is that it's a little concaved, so
07:46 it gives you almost like a surface area that's true to your skin.
07:53 It mimics the curves of your face.
07:55 You see every little nook, cranny, area, spot, wrinkle, whatever is new to your face.
08:02 I know how many wrinkles I have on my face right now.
08:04 Every day I keep track.
08:05 No, I'm just kidding.
08:06 Every day I keep track.
08:07 No, so it's one of those really good things for you because you don't walk out looking
08:13 like a hot mess or a clown, but it's also a little daunting having to look at yourself
08:19 all the time and aging gracefully, hopefully taking your vitamins and drinking a lot of
08:25 water so that it's not a traumatic difference from the first time you purchased your mirror.
08:31 I think one of my biggest attractions towards this mirror is that it comes from Simple Human,
08:39 which is a great brand.
08:40 This totally sounds like I'm sponsored, but I'm not, but Simple Human, if you're watching,
08:44 call me.
08:45 It has a really good warranty, so if something happens to it, no questions asked, they'll
08:50 replace it.
08:51 When I initially bought mine, it wasn't available everywhere, so I had to pay the full $200
08:57 for it.
08:58 Now, they have two additional sizes, a really small one that is a 10 times magnification
09:06 and then an in-between one that's a little bit smaller than this one.
09:12 I think it's a 6.5 mirror.
09:16 I don't remember the size.
09:17 I'll list them down below.
09:20 And then this one, but if it's for the purposes of applying your makeup, I think you should
09:25 go with the full facial size one.
09:30 They also have the type that you mount onto the walls now, so that's pretty cool.
09:35 When I got mine, like I said, it was this one.
09:37 You really had no choice.
09:38 But the best part is that if you see this at Bed Bath & Beyond, you can use your 20%
09:52 coupon towards your purchase, so you won't have to pay the full $200 for it.
09:56 I think Amazon may have it a little cheaper.
09:59 I'm not sure.
10:00 So regardless, I'll link it down below, but I really hope that answered your questions.
10:04 So many of you ask me when you see this mirror in pictures or in a reflection or something
10:09 which mirror it is, and I could easily answer it in the comments, but I'm pretty sure if
10:15 you notice or you notice or you noticed, a lot more people are curious about it.
10:19 So if you're really into beauty and applying your makeup and it's something that you truly
10:24 enjoy, this is definitely a really great investment, totally worth saving up for, and it'll really
10:33 improve your makeup application.
10:35 This almost reminds me of one of those beauty products that once you try it out, you're
10:39 like, "Where have you been all my life?
10:41 How have I made it this far?" or "What in God's name did I look like before I had blank?"
10:47 So I really hope you guys enjoyed this video.
10:51 I'll list or link this product in the description box below in case you guys want more information.
10:58 I know it's not a beauty review, but it kind of is, so I really hope you enjoyed it.
11:02 Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below, and as always, if you guys
11:05 found this video useful, entertaining, or earnest-y, please give me a thumbs up or subscribe
11:09 if you haven't already, and until next time, this coffee break is over.
11:13 Bye, guys.
