00:00 Hey guys, today is your DIY how to make your own easy bake oven cake mix tutorial for a
00:07 very cheap price.
00:08 So we're going to be teaching you how to make the cake mix and the yummy delicious frosting.
00:13 So let's get to it.
00:15 Step one, you're going to need a preheated oven and make sure you ask an adult to plug
00:21 it in because you could electrocute yourself.
00:26 Step two, you'll need all your ingredients and all the things you're going to need.
00:30 So first you'll need a cake mix.
00:31 I'm using vanilla because then I can put my favorite colored dyes.
00:36 But you can also use any other kind of cake mix that you want and if you don't want to
00:42 dye it and you want to just leave it white vanilla, that's okay.
00:47 And the food dye is optional if you want to do that.
00:51 So you'll need powdered sugar, a cup of milk, your little teaspoons, two bowls because one
01:00 bowl is for the frosting and one bowl is for the cake.
01:03 And then you'll need sprinkles and a food dye if you want.
01:10 And you'll need a spatula so you can push it in and pull it out.
01:15 So you're going to also need your cake pan.
01:19 I almost forgot.
01:20 You're going to need this so you can put your cake in and slide it in.
01:26 Okay, so I greased my Easy Bake pan and I used this.
01:31 You can also use butter because butter works too or you can use this.
01:37 So I greased my pan and you'll need three tablespoons of your powder.
01:43 So I'm going to get one tablespoon and I'm putting it in the bowl.
01:53 I did my three tablespoons of my vanilla cake mix.
01:57 Now I'm going to do one tablespoon of my milk.
02:02 Okay, this.
02:04 And just pour that in and then you're going to get your mixer and mix it all up.
02:15 Okay, so when you're done mixing, it'll look like a paste.
02:19 So you want it to look like a paste because then if you make it too watery, it won't be
02:26 good.
02:27 So we're just going to add some food coloring.
02:30 If you get the brand that I got, only put a little bit because this one's a very strong
02:35 color.
02:36 So don't do too much because then it'll be really dark and you'll get stained.
02:44 So you're only going to need a little drop like that.
02:50 And we're just going to get our mixer and mix it all up.
02:54 Like I said, it's going to get very bright, so only put a little, not too much.
03:00 So when you're done mixing your food dye, you're going to pour it in to the Easy-Bake
03:06 Oven line, which is the halfway line.
03:10 Ask an adult to help you because sometimes you could go over the line.
03:15 So we filled it up and it should look like this.
03:20 Now we're just going to put it in all the way.
03:27 There we go.
03:28 We have it in and it takes 10 minutes, I think.
03:33 15.
03:34 Oh, I forgot.
03:35 My mom was right.
03:36 It takes 15 minutes to bake.
03:40 So you're going to set your timer to 15 minutes and wait until it bakes.
03:46 Now it's time for the best part, frosting!
03:49 So you're going to need three tablespoons of powdered sugar.
03:56 One, two, and three.
04:00 And then you're going to need one tablespoon of your milk.
04:17 And then you're going to mix it.
04:29 If it gets a little too watery like mine, it's just like thick water, you're going to
04:37 put like one more tablespoon.
04:39 So I'm going to get one more tablespoon and dump it in.
04:50 And if it's too sticky, then you're going to need to add more of that.
04:55 But since mine's not that sticky, we're going to need to add more of this.
04:59 And you want it to be thick, the frosting, because then or else your cake's going to
05:04 be a disaster.
05:05 It's just going to be all watery frosting.
05:07 We don't want that.
05:08 We don't want watery frosting.
05:10 We want thick frosting.
05:12 Now that looks better.
05:14 That looks better.
05:16 And you're just going to keep mixing.
05:21 So we actually had to add a little more.
05:24 You can go ahead and mess with your powdered sugar and your thing and make it as thick
05:30 as you want and how wet you want.
05:33 But you don't want it that wet because it's just going to like seep through your cake
05:38 and not taste good.
05:40 So I'm going to add a little bit of food dye.
05:42 This one's pink.
05:43 The other one was blue.
05:45 So we're going to put it into a bowl.
05:51 There we go.
05:52 Now we're going to add a little bit of our pink.
05:54 Like I said, the color is really strong.
05:58 OK, so don't put too much.
06:00 Just, oops, I put a little too much.
06:05 But I'm going to get this and I'm going to mix it.
06:10 See, I think I put too much.
06:14 Actually, the last time I did pink frosting and it was kind of looking like this.
06:18 Mmm, very sugary.
06:23 OK, so we're going to be using this side now, not the small side.
06:27 We're going to be using the big side to push it through the cooling chamber.
06:31 We're going to leave it for five minutes.
06:35 By the way, it smells so good.
06:38 OK, we're going to push it into the cooling chamber.
06:42 It's not getting through.
06:43 We just added to the cooling chamber.
06:45 It's all warm now.
06:47 So we're going to get our knife and cut it out.
06:55 OK, now we're going to get it and put it on our plate.
06:59 And bring our frosting.
07:02 Get our bowl with the spoon.
07:06 And our sprinkles.
07:10 Now we're going to get this frosted.
07:18 OK, going to get it on here.
07:22 The reason why I picked pink frosting and blue cake was because I wanted to make it look like a cotton candy cake.
07:28 Because I like cotton candy.
07:30 And I like that it melts in your mouth.
07:33 I'm done frosting my cake.
07:34 This is how it looks.
07:35 It's all frosted up.
07:37 Now I'm going to get my three colored sprinkles.
07:39 Blue, green, and a hot pink.
07:41 Now we're going to just decorate it with our sprinkles.
07:48 Sprinkles are optional, just to let you know.
07:52 So you don't have to put the sprinkles if you don't want to.
07:54 You can just leave it a frosted cake.
08:02 And it's really fun.
08:05 I really like making cakes.
08:07 It's really fun.
08:09 And it's like an activity.
08:15 And we're going to add blue and cut our cake up.
08:23 OK, so this is how my cake looks.
08:26 It's very colorful.
08:28 I tried to make it look like a rainbow.
08:30 So I'm going to cut a piece and see how it tastes.
08:34 So I'm going to cut a little piece.
08:38 OK, just get this.
08:41 Cut a little piece.
08:44 And I'm going to cut the other side.
08:48 OK, I think I overcooked it.
08:52 But it's OK.
08:56 Maybe just like 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes.
08:59 Yeah, I think that sounds better.
09:01 But I'm sure it's going to taste great.
09:03 Let's see what it tastes like.
09:06 It's like a twinkle.
09:16 To me it's more of a cookie than a cake, but really good.
09:20 Even though my cake was a little crunchy, it was still super good.
09:25 I recommend you guys making this cake.
09:28 It's like really good.
09:31 So I think that's all.
