00:00 Hi everyone, today we're going to look at a vintage Play-Doh set.
00:04 Now vintage means it was kind of old and it's been around for a while, but it's still pretty
00:10 cool.
00:11 So it's an old vintage Play-Doh set called the Play-Doh Bacon Cake Shop.
00:14 So it allows you to make things like pretzels, some cakes, gingerbread men, and other things.
00:22 So while it's a little different than some of the Play-Doh sets that we see today, it's
00:26 still pretty fun.
00:27 Now where would you find this Play-Doh set?
00:30 Well, if you really want to get it, you're probably going to have to look for it on something
00:33 like eBay because they don't make it anymore.
00:36 So it is old now.
00:38 This particular set came with the old Play-Doh cans and the person that bought it from left
00:43 me some yucky, yucky Play-Doh.
00:45 So we're not going to use that Play-Doh.
00:47 We're actually going to use some new Play-Doh that we have and like this because it's not
00:54 so gross.
00:55 So let's see how we can make some things with the Bacon Cake Shop.
00:58 Okay, so this play set comes with a rolling pin, which we're going to use in a second,
01:03 a little knife, and these different molds.
01:05 So right here you can make pretzels and like a little Bundt cake or maybe it's a donut,
01:10 probably a donut.
01:11 And then you can make a gingerbread man, a piece of candy, and I guess it's a loaf of
01:16 bread or some other kind of thing.
01:19 So here's the candy and the gingerbread man.
01:21 And then here you can make cookies, a croissant, we'll see what this one actually is, and then
01:27 of course the cookie.
01:28 And then it has this fun piece right here which just makes different shapes.
01:32 You can make stars and ovals and hearts and things.
01:35 So we'll look at that one next.
01:36 It kind of looks like a top.
01:37 Okay, so we're going to make a gingerbread man first.
01:41 So we're going to put the brown Play-Doh down because we're going to have a brown gingerbread
01:44 man.
01:45 We're going to use the rolling pin to kind of make it flat.
01:47 So we're going to go one direction and then the other.
01:51 And we're going to take the mold, just going to stick it on and push.
01:57 Just like that.
02:00 We lift it up.
02:05 And there is our gingerbread man.
02:07 So next we're going to make a couple other shapes with the shape maker that looks like
02:13 a top and a couple more things.
02:16 Okay, now we're going to make the heart.
02:18 So we're going to start with a brown piece of red Play-Doh.
02:21 We're going to flatten it just a little bit because we want it to be kind of thick for
02:26 this play set.
02:28 So which one of these shapes looks like a heart?
02:30 I'm going to say that one.
02:32 So we're going to take it and we just push straight down.
02:39 You lift up and there's the heart.
02:44 You can peel it off or you can take the knife that comes with it and just kind of trim it
02:48 around the edge so that you can pull it out.
03:00 There's the heart.
03:01 Now finally we're going to make a cookie like right here with some purple Play-Doh.
03:08 Okay so we're going to make this cookie.
03:11 Now again we want it to be kind of thick because of the way this play set is made.
03:15 So we're going to roll it and not roll it thin like we typically would.
03:19 Sort of like that.
03:20 We're going to take this mold for the cookie.
03:28 Push it down and lift it back up.
03:34 Now you see it wasn't quite thick enough so you didn't get all of the little texture from
03:39 the cookie on it.
03:40 I've got an idea.
03:42 So we're going to put a topping on the cookie.
03:45 Okay so there's our pink cookie or purple cookie and we're just going to put a topping.
03:50 So I'm going to take a little piece of red Play-Doh and roll it real thin and every time
03:55 it gets thinner I'm going to cut it just like that.
03:58 Roll it a little bit more until it gets nice and thin.
04:05 So you can see it's getting longer and thinner, longer and thinner just like we want it.
04:16 Okay and now I'm just going to put that on the top for a little shape.
04:29 So we were able to decorate the cookie and make it look a little bit better than what
04:32 it did before.
04:34 Okay a few things on the Play-Doh Bacon Cake Shop.
04:37 While it's pretty fun and can be used by younger children, I think Play-Doh has probably come
04:42 a long way since then and some of the newer sets are probably a little bit more fun and
04:47 easier to use.
04:49 So I hope you enjoyed this review and if you have any questions please let me know.
04:53 Take care and have a great day.
04:54 You may want to show this video to your parents because they might have used this one when
04:58 they were kids.
04:59 So that might be kind of fun too.
