A $7.6M V8-Powered Track Car From Italy, The New 777 Hypercar

The model designed by Dallara will be able to tour Monza in 1 minute and 33 seconds.

The era of zero emissions for production vehicles may be approaching, but there's still plenty of time for ICE-powered hypercars, especially when they're reserved for track use. That's the case for the first model from start-up Italian company 777 Motors, designed with Dallara's help, with motorsport-inspired credentials and an eye-catching €7 million ($7.65 million) price tag for an ultra-limited production. .

777 Motors was founded by entrepreneur and car collector Andrea Levy. The track-only hypercar was first announced in November 2022, but a closer to production version was previewed with new visuals at the 2023 Milan Monza Motor Show (MiMo) over the weekend.

Inspired by endurance racers and hypercars, the exterior was penned by Turin designer Umberto Palermo. Aggressive aerodynamics, including the large front splitter, vertical fin behind the roof scoop, massive rear wing and prominent diffuser, were made possible by the absence of any limitations as the 777 hypercar was not intended for and was never put on the market. Designed to comply with all types of motorsport regulations. The same goes for the slim LED lighting units, the droplet-shaped canopy, and the array of vents and air ducts throughout the hood.

The model is powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 engine developed by UK-based Gibson Technology without any electrical assistance. The mill produces 730 hp (544 kW / 740 PS) at 9,000 rpm and runs on synthetic fuels.

Weighing just 900 kg (1,984 pounds), the 777 Hypercar has a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph) and produces up to 2,100 kg (4,630 pounds) of downforce in extreme weather conditions. Braking and suspension components are sourced from motorsport and allow lateral acceleration between 3.5 and 4.0 g. 777 Motors will put drivers through a special program of technical and physical training, including simulator rides, to help them withstand such forces. Sparco will supply the racing and safety equipment and Stilo will supply the helmet.

According to the company, the first customer deliveries are scheduled for 2025. Interestingly, 7 units of the €7 million 777 hypercar will always remain in Monza, where the brand's headquarters is located. Owners will be able to visit at any time using the trail and participating in "special events" that will be held throughout the year. The target lap time in the Autodromo Nazionale Monza is an incredible 1 minute 33 seconds, making it 20 seconds slower compared to the 2023 F1 single-seater.
