00:16 10 tricks on how to achieve the perfect winged liner
00:19 every time. No fuss, no tears, and no stress!
00:22 I know the winged liner is one of the trickiest things
00:24 that you need to master in the world of makeup, so
00:26 I hope with these 10 tricks it'll make it a lot easier for you.

00:42 I will shut up now and let you watch the video. I hope you find it helpful.
00:45 Okay, first up is the card trick.
00:47 What you want to do is take any clean piece of card that you have,
00:50 hold it against your eye at a diagonal,
00:52 apply your eyeliner using your card as your guideline,
00:55 and then fill in any gaps.
00:56 Once you remove the card, you'll see that you have a perfect straight edge to your wing.
01:00 You can then go back in and fill in any little gaps that may have occurred,
01:03 and there's your perfect winged eyeliner!
01:05 Second trick is probably my favourite, and this is to use tape.
01:08 I prefer to use surgical tape, I'll link it down below for you,
01:11 because it comes off nice and easily and doesn't pull your skin.
01:13 Same deal as the card trick, you're going to use the tape to get that
01:16 perfect straight edge to your winged liner,
01:18 and once again, you have a perfect winged liner.
01:20 So simple and easy.
01:22 This one's a bit trickier, this is the ultimate tape method.
01:24 So you're going to apply your tape like you did before,
01:26 but then you're going to layer another piece of tape on top
01:29 to create a triangle on the outer corner of your eye.
01:31 This is going to be your winged liner.
01:33 So fill in in between the two pieces of tape,
01:36 remove them, then all you need to do is go back into the middle
01:39 and the inner corner of your eye, fill in any gaps,
01:41 and there's your winged liner.
01:43 The next one is a popular method, and it's called "join the dots".
01:46 Literally all you do is draw a few dots on top of your lash line,
01:50 keep them as close to your lash line as possible,
01:52 but make sure you can still see them.
01:54 Go all the way out to where you want your wing to be,
01:57 then all you do is get your eyeliner, fill in the dots,
01:59 and you're good to go.
02:01 Now I'm just going to remove all that eyeliner and start again.
02:04 Number five is the flat liner pen technique.
02:06 All you do is just take a felt tip eyeliner
02:09 and literally press it against your lash line.
02:11 So all you're doing is laying the felt tip liner flat against the lash line,
02:15 let the felt tip do all the work for you,
02:17 and then just fill in any gaps,
02:19 neaten it up where you need to neaten it up,
02:21 and that's your winged liner done.
02:23 This one here is one of my favorite methods,
02:25 and this is just to clean up any winged liner you've done with makeup remover.
02:28 So say, for example, you've gone and freehand drawn on your winged liner,
02:32 but it's not quite as neat as you want it to be.
02:34 All you need to do is take another eyeliner brush,
02:37 or an angled eyebrow brush, some makeup remover,
02:39 I'm just using Missala Water,
02:41 and quite simply go in and neaten up your winged liner.
02:44 This method acts like an eraser,
02:46 so you can get your eyeliner as neat and precise as you want.
02:49 This one here is a little bit trickier,
02:51 this is to make your own stencil.
02:53 I'm just using this Sigma eyeliner here,
02:55 and I'm placing it against my eyelid.
02:57 I'm going to trace around that curve until I've got the curve of my winged liner.
03:00 You can use anything for your stencil,
03:02 just make sure it's a nice, gentle curve.
03:04 Then I'm just going to go back in and draw on the top of my winged liner,
03:07 fill in any gaps, and my winged liner is finished.
03:10 Trick number 8 is the concealer clean up.
03:13 So you've got your perfect winged liner,
03:15 but then you make a mistake and all hell breaks loose.
03:17 All you need to do is get your concealer on an angled eyebrow brush,
03:21 and carve out that wing again.
03:23 Make sure to take off any eyeliner that you've picked up
03:25 on the back of your hand so that you don't smudge it,
03:28 and slowly but surely clean up that winged liner.
03:30 Once you're finished, you'll be left with the perfect winged liner once again.
03:34 This one here is for all you hooded-eyed bades out there.
03:37 What I like to do for this is to get a black pencil eyeliner.
03:40 I then tightline the top lash line,
03:43 so I'm applying it on the waterline of the top lash line,
03:46 and then gently hold taut the outer corner of your eye
03:48 and draw a very thin wing.
03:50 We're not going to fill this wing in too much
03:52 because chances are your hooded eyelid droops over it,
03:55 so as long as you can see that you've got a little bit of a wing
03:58 poking out on the edge of your eye, then you're good to go.
04:01 Trick number 10 is not really a trick.
04:02 I kind of ran out of tricks. Sorry, guys.
04:04 But this is just to freehand draw your eyeliner.
04:07 This is what I do if I don't have an awful lot of time.
04:09 I just do this and hope for the best.
04:11 If it goes wrong, I'll usually go back in and clean it
04:13 with the concealer cleaner or clean it up with my makeup remover.
04:17 And that brings us to the end of the video.
04:19 So that was my 10 tricks to achieve the perfect winged liner every time.
