00:00 What's up everybody, it is Nicole Skyes and welcome to another episode of "Is it a Beauty Hack or is it Wack?"
00:06 Where I test out popular beauty hacks and see if they actually work or if they're totally wack.
00:12 So body wraps are a really big thing right now. I always get blown up on Instagram for people trying to sell me these weird body wraps.
00:19 And I decided to test it out today. We are going to find out if the DIY body wrap actually works.
00:27 So what a body wrap is supposed to do is make the problem areas of your body, it's supposed to make them sweat.
00:33 And you're supposed to remove toxins by sweating them out.
00:36 Now you're not going to lose a significant amount of weight just because it's going to be water weight and you're going to want to drink more water.
00:44 You're probably going to gain that weight right back.
00:47 There's a bunch of different recipes online that you can try out.
00:50 I just decided to try out something that I already have at home, coconut oil.
00:54 We're going to see if it works.
00:56 So the first steps you need to do for a DIY body wrap is coconut oil.
01:01 Rub the coconut oil on your body in the areas that you will wrap.
01:06 I chose my stomach and I also did my thighs.
01:10 And after you have that all nicely rubbed in, then you get your saran wrap and start wrapping yourself.
01:16 You don't want to wrap too tight but you don't want to wrap too loose.
01:19 I noticed when I first started doing my stomach, after I wrapped it, some of it was kind of coming up and it wasn't sticking very well.
01:28 So I wrapped myself again and I also wrapped both of my legs.
01:32 One thing I did notice about my legs was after I had it on for a minute, it was really tight at the top part of my thighs, the upper part of my thighs.
01:41 It was really tight.
01:42 So I kind of just stuck my fingers in there and tried to loosen it up a little bit.
01:46 And what you want to do after that is on, you also can use the ace bandage over the wrap.
01:51 I did not do that. I did not have one.
01:53 I'm not sure if it would help or not.
01:55 I put clothes over my wrap so it would stay in place better.
02:00 I used a t-shirt and some yoga pants for my legs.
02:03 What you want to do is sleep in it overnight.
02:06 Now sleeping in this overnight was kind of annoying.
02:10 It was really hot and sweaty in the areas of my stomach.
02:13 Really sweaty. Every time you move you kind of hear this crinkly noise.
02:17 It just wasn't a really pleasant experience.
02:20 I was able to fall asleep and sleep.
02:23 Like I said, it was really sweaty so I ended up waking up at about 5 o'clock in the morning.
02:27 So this video here is shown 5 o'clock in the morning and I am unwrapping it.
02:33 My stomach area part kind of unwrapped itself.
02:36 It was still on there so it still kind of did its justice.
02:40 So I ended up unwrapping my stomach and I unwrapped my legs.
02:46 Do you guys notice a difference in my stomach and legs?
02:51 I feel like my stomach was a little bit more defined which is weird.
02:56 I don't understand how you can just sweat out stuff and then all of a sudden you have a six pack.
03:02 I didn't really have a six pack but it did kind of work for my stomach area.
03:08 I feel like my legs were a little bit smaller too.
03:12 So here's the before and after picture.
03:15 Let me guys know. Do you notice a difference? Can you tell a difference?
03:35 So would I rate this a beauty hack or a complete whack?
03:39 I would say that this is a beauty hack but with strings attached.
03:44 You are sweating out water weight so it's not a complete miracle fix.
03:48 You're not going to suddenly lose a tremendous amount of weight overnight.
03:52 That's not how your body works.
03:54 If you want to really lose weight you need to work out. You need to watch what you eat.
03:57 But for what this is, a DIY body wrap, I would not buy wraps from somebody trying to sell me wraps.
04:03 I think that's a complete bogus gimmick.
