00:00 Hey guys, in the previous tutorial I showed you how to do this fancy fishtail braid and
00:04 in this video I'm going to show you how to do the exact same thing except with rope braids.
00:09 This hairstyle can be achieved on medium to long hair and is perfect to wear during the
00:13 summer time. So if you want to see how I did it then keep on watching.
00:17 First off, brush your hair and make sure it's all smooth.
00:22 Grab some hair near the front of your face and divide it into two equal sections. Now
00:26 there are many ways to create a rope braid but I find this one works best for me.
00:30 Twist the two strands together counter-clockwise and twist one of the strands clockwise.
00:36 Then twist them together again counter-clockwise and twist one of the strands clockwise.
00:41 You can also do this braid by twisting both strands clockwise and wrapping them together
00:45 counter-clockwise. If you want to see how that's done I'll put a link in the info box
00:50 below.
00:53 Tie the end with an elastic band and if you did this right your twist won't unravel.
00:59 Grab some hair beneath the first braid, divide it into two sections and create another rope
01:03 braid.
01:06 Once again, wrap the two strands together counter-clockwise and twist them clockwise.
01:22 When you're done, tie the end with an elastic band and do the exact same thing to the other
01:25 side of your head.
01:27 Now divide the top half of your hair and tie it together with the two rope braids.
01:32 In the fancy fishtail braid video I actually tied my model's hair to one side but in this
01:36 video I'm just going to tie my hair at the back.
01:41 Create a little hole above the hair tie and flip your ponytail in it.
01:49 Cover a layer of hair below the first one and include the remaining side braids.
01:56 Tie everything together with a hair tie and once again create a hole above that hair tie
02:04 and flip the ponytail in it.
02:11 At this point you can dress up your hairstyle with some hair accessories. You can even stick
02:15 fresh flowers in your hair but today I'm using these butterfly clips.
02:20 If you need to, fix your hairstyle with a comb.
02:25 Lastly remove all the elastic bands you used to hold the rope braids.
02:32 So here's the finished look. I think it's a cute twist on the regular flip in hairdo
02:38 so let me know if you guys would give this a try.
02:42 You can leave your hair like so or you can gather your hair to one side and create a
02:46 larger rope braid.
02:47 Here we go again, wrap the strands together counter clockwise and twist each one clockwise.
02:54 Tie it off with an elastic band and you're done.
03:02 So which one do you guys prefer? This side braid or the half updo? Let me know in the
03:06 comments below.
03:07 Thanks so much for watching and I'll talk to you later. Bye!
