00:01 Okay.
00:02 Well, okay, well how's his second deal?
00:03 His second deal is like his top glide.
00:04 Okay, what can we do for him?
00:05 Oh my gosh.
00:06 Let's see.

01:28 Okay, so we're going to do a push-up.
01:55 Okay, so we're going to do a push-up.
02:24 whole entire deck of cards, this is the one for you because you can shuffle, you can hand
02:28 it for the other person to shuffle and you still get the same stack back. And I don't
02:32 know if you know what I'm talking about, neither do I, but see me after the show. I have to
02:36 get going because I know I'm expecting a very important page from a long-time companion
02:40 of mine. I'm going to wait a moment. That's long enough. Let's see who it is. Oh, it's
02:47 P. Ditty. I'm going to go hang with him in New York where we go thugging. But the airlines
02:51 lost my FUBU, so I think I'm in trouble. And I don't know what that means, but I'll see
02:55 you later.
02:56 Hi there. What's your name? Jenny. Jenny, I'm going to use my telepathetic powers here.
03:03 Jenny, your phone number is 867-5309. Jenny, I got you. Remember that time at Two Tone
03:14 back from the 8-2? You know what I'm saying? No, you don't. The jokes aren't as good as
03:22 the magic tricks. The magic is really good. What's your name?
03:25 Shamari.
03:26 Shamari. Nice to meet you, Shamari. Do you like card tricks?
03:28 I love card tricks.
03:29 I have to tell you, I am the leader of the nerd herd in card magic. And I have got the
03:33 mega colossal hyper deluxe of all card tricks. Let me show you. Inside the handy-dandy carrying
03:39 case I have 52 pieces of cardboard. How many times shall I shuffle them? One, two, three,
03:43 four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Shamari, four? He wants four. There's uno.
03:50 There's dos. There's three. I'm not too good at the high numbers in Spanish, Jenny. And
03:59 then here's dos, dos. And Shamari, you cut the cards anywhere you like. So just give
04:06 them a nice little cut. Okay. And Shamari, cut the cards right over here. And this is
04:12 a queen of diamonds. Now, Jenny, give me any number you like, whichever number tickles
04:17 your fancy between one and twenty.
04:20 Thirteen.
04:21 Are you sure? Do you want to change your mind?
04:24 No.
04:25 You're happy with the mind you have?
04:26 Yes.
04:27 I feel funny today. Okay, he cut to the queen of diamonds. You gave me the number thirteen.
04:29 One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen. The queen
04:36 of hearts right at the number you gave me. Now, that's the mate to the card. Now, you
04:39 get to cut the cards this time, Jenny. He cut it first. Okay. And you have a five of
04:46 clubs. Now, Shamari, you get to pick a card. I know you never heard that before. This is
04:50 everything is original, what I do here. So pull the card out. Let's see what you got.
04:53 Are you kidding me?
04:55 Yeah, I know. The five-five. That's how tall I am. I'm vertically challenged. But we don't
04:59 want to get in the therapy. So we shuffle the cards one more time. We'll have Shamari
05:03 cut the cards just like before. You did such a good job. You get to do it again. So let's
05:07 see what we got here. We got a -- I'm having some technical difficulties. Please stand
05:10 by. We've got a three of spades. Now, for me to find the three of clubs, all I have
05:13 to do is wave my hands. Watch close, guys. There's the three of clubs. I'll set that
05:20 down for a moment and wait for the thunderous applause to finally subside. And then you
05:24 get to cut the cards, Jen. Okay. Isn't this fun? I know. I love this stuff. Now, look
05:31 at the eight of clubs. We're going to find the eight of spades. We just mix the cards
05:33 up like this. And there it is, the eight of spades. That's kind of quick, but you might
05:38 think I'm cheating. Let me shuffle the cards so we can keep track. Okay. And then you get
05:44 to say stop, Shamari. Stop. Okay. And you stop me here on a four of diamonds. Now, here's
05:49 the crescendo of the trick. This is really good. The showstopper, if you will. Watch
05:53 the four of diamonds jump in the air, land in the deck next to the four of hearts. It's
06:01 really easy. And then, Jen, you say stop. Stop. Okay. Let's see what we got here. Ah,
06:09 the five of diamonds. We're going to find the five of hearts. There it is, the five
06:16 of hearts. Ta-da. Now, for the first time, a lot of people, after I do this trick, they
06:21 come up to me and they say, "Tomas, can you have me shuffle the deck of cards?" So go
06:27 ahead and ask me that. Go ahead. Can I shuffle the deck of cards? Funny you should ask. Shuffle
06:32 the deck, mister. Really? Yeah, go ahead. Shuffle them up. Good acting. I like this
06:36 guy. All right. He shuffles the deck. Shuffles them once. Jenny, would you like to shuffle
06:41 the deck too, mister or miss? Sorry. Good job. All right. Now, let's see. Whenever you
06:48 want, you just say shuffle, because look, I've got the aces together. Shuffle. Ooh.
06:52 Now, do you want me to shuffle now? I could do it for you. Let me mix them up like this
06:57 in a PG-13 way. Ten of diamonds, ten of hearts. I've got the seven of diamonds, seven of hearts.
07:05 Look, I've got all the sevens here. It's my lucky day. And whenever you want, you can
07:08 say shuffle, because look, I've got all the cards. Six of, oh, creepy. Shuffle. Shuffle.
07:12 All right. We'll shuffle. Want me to do it one more time? Yeah. All right. I'm a giver.
07:20 Trust me. I give, give, give. All right. And let's see if we can do this. Look, we've got
07:26 the queens. We've got the two twos. That's what the ballerinas wear. We've got the tens,
07:31 the threes, the nines, the jacks, the kings. I'm not out of space here. The eight of diamonds,
07:38 eight of hearts, king of diamonds, king of hearts. All the cards are paired up. Wow.
07:45 I'm never playing poker with you. I'm really good at go fish. That's my game. Go fish,
07:49 where I'm okay. But thanks guys. You guys are really nice. Okay. Here's a cool card
07:55 trick. You like card tricks? Yes. You know what I am? A cardiologist. I love the card
08:00 tricks. Look, I'm going to open up the box and I'm going to shuffle this regular deck
08:04 of cards. But how many times should I shuffle the deck? Should I shuffle it? One, two, three,
08:08 four, five, six. Hell, I'll do it seven, eight, nine, 10. Let's go with three. Three. Here
08:13 we go. One, two. I don't want you to think I'm doing anything fishy. So that looks like
08:25 a pretty good shuffle, right? Yeah. Okay. Now you just cut the cards anywhere you want.
08:32 Okay. An eight. You know what's weird? You cut to an eight. I just ate. It's bizarre.
08:42 We're going to cut the cards again. Losing your eight. Look, it's lost. Help me. And
08:46 here, oops. Well, you cut the cards anywhere you want. I'm a giver. You know me. Okay.
08:52 And we'll cut over here. Okay. And now I'm going to cut them. Now watch how I cut the
08:57 cards. I'm not doing anything fishy, am I? No, it's good. Okay. All right. So we got
09:04 two cards selected. Do it one more time. Good job. Cut it. Now this time, you shuffle the
09:18 cards. I'll even split them for you. You pick them up. Just shuffle them. Good job, Julia.
09:26 All right. Here. We'll fan out the cards. Here, pull out the queen and the card just
09:33 right next to it. These two? Those two right there. And then pull out the ace of diamonds
09:38 and the card next to that one too. And then you pull out the eight of clubs and the one
09:44 next to that one. Okay. And let's see what cards we got. We've got these hearts and the
09:49 ace of diamonds together. Coincidence? Let's see. Black eights over here. Queens. Julia,
10:03 you'll never believe this. Remember I shuffled the cards? You shuffled the cards? Both of
10:09 us shuffled the cards. And yet look. Got the sixes, the threes, the eights, the kings,
10:19 the nines, sevens, fives, sixes, jacks, red sevens. That's how tall I am. I'm 5'5". And
10:30 then we've got the fours. We've got the kings. We've got the tens. The threes. This is impressive
10:37 even though I seem to be the only one who thinks so. We've got the fours. We've got
10:40 the queens. We've got the nines. We've got the jacks. Tens, twos. Here, let's go in my
10:46 office and I'll show you everything. Whoa. Look at the size of this office. It's mega
11:00 colossal hyper deluxe huge. Just the perfect place for me to spill the beans. Ready? Congratulations,
11:06 you've purchased the cardiologist deck. Now just what is the cardiologist deck? Well,
11:11 one day I was working at a magic shop and I was playing around with this Bengali deck.
11:16 It's also called a minute teckle deck. And so some kid said to me, "Hey, can you shuffle
11:21 the deck?" And I said, "Sure." I figured since there's 26 of the same card in there, I'd
11:25 have a pretty good chance of cutting to that same card. Well, it turned out when I fanned
11:29 them all out, even after shuffling them a little riffle shuffle, they were all in order.
11:33 That's right folks, you've just purchased a Spangali deck, but not really. This has
11:39 just been a regular deck. So it's a regular deck of cards, but all that's happened is
11:43 that we've paired up the mates. So in other words, the black fours, the red nines, the
11:49 red sevens, all the mates are paired together. The reason that is, is because the clubs and
11:55 the diamonds were cut short and the hearts and the spades are just regular cards. Then
12:01 we mix them up together. It doesn't matter how many times you shuffle this deck, they're
12:04 still in order. Isn't that incredible? I mean, really, you can do this for hours and hours
12:09 and you just go, "Wow, they're still in order. That's impressive." So let me give you all
12:14 the works, all the tips and all the handling on the deck of cards. I'm going to show you
12:18 all the special moves. There's three different ways to do this trick. So there's an easy
12:21 trick for people who aren't the knuckle buster, paper cut type people. There's even a hard
12:25 trick, the harder way, the one on steroids. And then the last one is the one where what
12:30 happens if by accident one of the cards is out. So this is the explanation on outs. So
12:35 how to mess up, how to clean up on the mess up, if you know what I'm talking about. And
12:38 I have no clue, but we'll do an over the shoulder peek shot to see on how the good working of
12:44 the deck goes. Okay, we're ready to explain the cardiologist deck. Now keep in mind, you've
12:52 been supplied with this deck. Now this deck, I invented this two years ago, so I've been
12:57 doing this trick for a while and I've only gone through five decks. So this should last
13:03 you for a while. You can shuffle them as many times as you like. In fact, a broken in deck
13:08 is better than a brand new deck. So this is what you do. Before the show, you pair up
13:14 all the cards. Now whatever ones are the shorter ones, in this case the clubs have been cut
13:18 shorter, your deck might be a little different. So your deck might be the hearts or the spades.
13:22 In this case, the clubs and the diamonds are cut short. So you put down the short card,
13:29 the regular card, the short card, the regular card, the short card, the regular card, the
13:33 short card. You do that through the whole deck. You make sure that everything's paired
13:36 up and there you go. Keep this in your pocket, walk up to your first victim, say, "Want to
13:42 see a trick?" "Sure." So here we go. We'll start from the front and from the beginning.
13:46 Here we go. "Want to see a trick?" "Sure." You open up the deck, say to the young lady,
13:51 "How many times?" or the person or the guy or whatever you're doing it to. You say, "Want
13:54 to see a trick?" They say, "Sure." You say, "How many times should I shuffle the deck?"
13:57 It doesn't matter how many times you shuffle the deck. If they say three, two, one, normally
14:01 they say three. So you just shuffle the way you would do a riffle shuffle. You know what's
14:10 better to do is if you do it, and this is what fools the magicians when you just push
14:15 them together. I mean that's a very clean handling of shuffling a deck of cards. No
14:20 fishy stuff. Anyway, so the basic way to do the trick, the easy no-brainer way, is that
14:25 you tell the person to cut anywhere you'd like. Now when you do it, you've got to make
14:28 sure you cut the deck like so, so that they know to cut at the edges. Sometimes if you
14:33 cut here at the side edges, you might mess up. So you've got to make sure you do it here.
14:38 So they cut the cards, boom, and you turn over the top card. Okay? Now I did okay because
14:44 I cut to a short card, so everything's cool. So then I cut again. And then I turn over
14:50 the next card. Normally you're always cutting to the shorter card, because it's a Spangali
14:54 deck. So you cut again, turn it over, cut one more time. Now throughout this, you can
15:02 give it also shuffles in between every one. So we'll shuffle it, and it doesn't matter
15:06 if the one that you cut face up is cut on the face or the bottom. It doesn't matter.
15:12 Just cut. Okay? And then if you're feeling especially frisky, you can hand it to the
15:17 young lady, the man, whatever you're doing it for. So you give it to them. They even
15:21 shuffle the deck. And this is the part that really floors the magic nerds, because they're
15:26 shuffling the deck. But really, it's a Spangali deck, so everything will be okay. So when
15:30 they fan out the cards, I'm left-handed, so I always make sure that it's the card that's
15:36 to the left when I spread, because I spread from right to left. I don't spread from left
15:39 to right, because I'm all messed up. But here's a therapy, and I'm okay. Okay, so anyway,
15:43 you tell the young lady to pull out the cards that are next to one another. Okay? The two
15:48 and the one next. And you got to play dumb. You go, "Oh, pull out that one. Pull out that
15:51 one." Now you just very slowly turn them over, and they're the pairs. And the very last one,
15:57 you just add some drama. Now I always pick up the deck, and I look at the deck. Now right
16:03 now I know that they're all paired up. Everything is cool. See? They're all paired up. So I'm
16:09 just checking with myself to see if everything's okay. Sometimes there's one that's off. Okay,
16:15 but I'm going to teach you how to do that later, just in case. But normally, this deck
16:19 is a piece of cake, man. So you go through it. You go, "Okay." Now you just turn them
16:25 over two at a time. You shuffle the deck. They shuffle the deck. They cut the cards.
16:30 I mean, this is a miracle. You just turn them over two at a time, and apparently you've
16:36 paired up a well-shuffled deck. You've floored the laypeople. They think this is impressive.
16:41 You've floored the magicians because they're shuffling the deck. They won't even think
16:45 you stoop as low as they're using a trick deck for this one. You fan them out. You're
16:49 doing Leonard Green-style magic with no practice whatsoever. The Cardiologist Deck.
16:54 Hi there, card magic fans. Now that you guys know how to do the easy, basic version of
16:58 the Cardiologist Deck, now we're going to do the version that you saw me do in the bars.
17:02 That's the one that I like to do all the time, the one on steroids. So I'm going to show
17:07 you all the moves, all the shuffles, all the handling, all the revelations. Take a pencil
17:12 and paper. Take some notes. Kick back. Relax. It's card magic time, folks.
17:18 Welcome to the over-the-shoulder cam. All right. Here's how to do the way I like to
17:23 do the Cardiologist Deck. Now, honestly, you need some chops for this one. So you have
17:28 to practice. But just to keep it efficient, just to be -- again, I'm a giver. Just to
17:33 give it to you, I'm going to show you how I do it. So I bring out the cards. If I want,
17:38 I normally don't, but if I want, I fan them out. Sometimes people, they get a little unruly
17:42 and they say, "Hey, Tomas, can you show me the deck?" Not often, but I just fan them
17:47 out the way you would fan out a Spangali deck. So you just sort of riffle and you let them
17:52 drop. Now, they're dropping two at a time. You can't really see the pairs together except
17:56 for these two, but they don't know what the effect is yet, so it looks like a regular
18:00 deck. I scoop them up. Now I'm ready to do the trick. I ask the person, "How many times
18:06 should I shuffle the deck?" It doesn't matter. We'll do it four times. So you shuffle once,
18:13 twice, three times, and four times. Now, all the jokes I was using, they're not mine. I
18:22 mean, some of them are Tom Mullica lines. You got Gregory Wilson lines. You got everybody.
18:26 Again, I steal from the best. So these are all lines that I've been using for a while.
18:31 Feel free to use them. I think that makes the trick entertaining. So we're going to
18:38 shuffle the cards. You ask the person to cut the cards anywhere they like. So let's say
18:42 they cut here. Now you turn over the top card. Since you cut to a diamond, you know everything's
18:48 okay. Everything's cool because that's the short card. So the one next to it's got to
18:52 be the five. So you're going to reveal the five of hearts. What I do here, normally to
18:57 start everything off, is I just do Tom Mullica's, I don't know what it's called, but what he
19:02 does is he thumb counts a number of cards, generally between one and 20. So let's say
19:08 they give me the number 10. I say, "Give me a number between, oh," and while I'm talking,
19:12 I go, "One, two, three, four, five." I always start off at around five, between one and
19:17 20. Normally people give you in the 15, 16, 17, because they want to see you sweat. But
19:24 let's say they say 10. So I go, "One, two, three, four, five." Now I got exactly 10 cards.
19:28 See? It takes a little bit of practice. Again, this is the one where you need some chops,
19:33 but here's the Tom Mullica one where he reverses the five up at the 10th position. I don't
19:38 know what the name of that trick is, but it's pretty good. It's in his book, Showtime at
19:41 the Tomfoolery. So all you do is you drop your hand to the side, your pant leg, and
19:45 you're going to thumb off the top card, pretend this is my pant leg, and then I just turn
19:51 it around. And now I've placed the five of hearts, the mate to the five of diamonds in
19:55 the 10th position. Again, this is the pretend, you just drop your hand to the side, you talk,
19:59 you chat, use the jokes that I used. That'll stall enough time for you to reverse that.
20:04 Now you go, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10." It's the other
20:09 five at the number they gave you. That's a great trick. They go, "Wow, they think the
20:12 trick is done, but it ain't. There's more. You're going to punish them some more with
20:15 these card tricks." So now you have them cut it again. And then from then on, again they
20:19 cut to another short card. So now you know that the queen of hearts is right here. So
20:23 now what I like to do is the classic force. Now if you don't know what the classic force
20:27 is, there's many, many books that teach you the classic force, but this is how I do it.
20:30 All I do is I kick cut the top half, and then I push the remainder, holding a break with
20:35 my pinky. Now when I put my pinky in there, I really stick my pinky in there, and then
20:39 you time it out. So the classic force takes a knack, but it's just basically a way of
20:44 forcing the card. You fan out the cards, and you just time it out until you give them this
20:49 card here, and that's going to be the queen of hearts. So it's the classic force. Usually
20:54 how I learned it is I put a little clothespin on the wall. I'd wake up in the morning, and
20:58 I'd feed my clothespin the card that I want to be fed, which in this case is the queen
21:01 of hearts. So Mr. Hand, if you would help me out for a second, I'm going to feed you
21:05 the queen of hearts. So you just time it out. Now if you miss, it's okay. I'm going to teach
21:09 you how to do outs later, but look, you got the queen of hearts. Good job, Mr. Hand. So
21:12 you got the two queens. Now, you shuffle it again. You can shuffle it any time you like.
21:17 You don't have to do it this way. These are just the different revelations. They cut the
21:19 card again, and then I think in one of them I did, in one of the bars, I did the spin-out
21:26 revelation, and the way that works is all I'm doing is I'm pretending to slide the cards
21:33 in half like this, and the middle card shoots out, but really I'm doing a slip cut, sliding
21:38 the top card, slip cut goes like this, and kicking it out. So we'll do that again in
21:44 slow motion. This is something that you should do fast, but in slow motion just cut the cards,
21:51 kick cut the top one, and then I always go like that so it looks like it came out the
21:55 middle. So you sort of crisscross the deck, and now you've found the mate to the nine
22:00 of clubs. People ooh and ah, and they're going, "Oh, wow, he just found the pairs to three
22:04 cards that were selected." Now you tell them to stop, just to mix it up a bit. You say
22:08 stop, they stop you here. Now I generally like to do the Eddie Factor Force. Now this
22:14 is a great secret. Put this in your card arsenal. All you're doing is the same thing like you're
22:20 starting off the classic force, putting your pinky in, and then you're just dropping packets.
22:24 Now when you cut, don't worry, because you're cutting to the shorter card, and you time
22:28 it out. So I usually put down some packs, and I say, just whenever you want, say stop,
22:33 and always on the count of three, one, two, they always say stop here. It's another timing
22:37 thing that'll take an act. You don't have to do this, but just to be complete, I want
22:41 to show everything, I always do that, and it always lands on the mate of the card. So
22:45 we'll do it again. You cut the cards down, cut them, cut them, cut them. They always
22:51 stop you on the count of three. So you just want to talk to them. Okay, whenever you want,
22:54 just go ahead and say stop, stop, boom. Okay? So that one will take some practice too. Now
23:01 we'll move on with the trick. You shuffle it again. Okay? And now they cut anywhere
23:06 they like. Okay, one time in the bar, I saw Trevor Lewis do this. Now what he did was
23:12 he flipped this card in the air, and it landed next to the mate. Now just to check to see
23:17 if the mate's there, I always check. I don't turn it over like that, but I peek, and I
23:20 see, okay, the six is there. So all I do is I kick up the half into this hand. The other
23:26 half goes on top. Now what's happened when I dropped it down, there's been a little separation
23:32 here. Okay? So now I place the six face up on top, and then I'm going to do the card
23:38 spinning move. You can learn this in many, many card videos out. I think I learned it
23:42 on a Jeff McBride video. So all you do is you hold it like here in a straddle grip,
23:47 I think that's what it's called, and then you just with this thumb sort of flick it
23:50 up, and the six jumps in the air. It takes a little bit of knack. Again, you don't have
23:54 to do this, but just to be complete, I'm throwing it in. So when it flips in the air, it's going
23:58 to do several somersaults, okay, and then your thumb comes in, and it lands here. It
24:03 takes a bit of practice. You want to do this over your bed. It saves the wear and tear
24:07 on your back. And let's see if I can nail it on the first try. Now sometimes I miss.
24:11 Let's see, there's the six. Okay, you take the six, the card they cut to, flips in the
24:15 air. Whoops, see? Sometimes I mess up on purpose. Unfortunately, that wasn't one of them. So
24:22 we'll do it again. You cut, flip it in the air, and it lands right next to the other
24:29 six. Now that one takes actually some skill, but you can do it. I mean, if I can do it,
24:37 you can do it too. So anyway, so let's check out the deck. Now look, our first mess up,
24:41 okay? One of the cards is out. All right, so now we're going to cut the cards, just
24:46 to be complete with the trick. So you just cut the cards anywhere they want. Okay, you
24:49 can keep doing all the different revelations. Here's another revelation that I did. This
24:53 one's called the Dribble Revelation. I came up with it a while back. I think someone else
24:58 came up with it, and it was written up in a 2003 issue of Magic Magazine or Jeanne.
25:04 But again, sometimes you stumble upon other things. So what I've done is I've just double
25:10 undercutted the seven to the bottom, the mate, okay? So what it looks like is when you dribble
25:15 it, it looks like the seven leaps out of the middle. And the way you do that is this thumb
25:21 is basically going to lever up the bottom card as you're dribbling the cards. It's going
25:25 to lever it up, goes in the middle, and you catch it. It's another knacky move, but trust
25:31 me, you can do it. So the spectator gives it a cut, and they cut two and eight of diamonds.
25:38 So what you're going to do is take this deck of cards and thumb count up to five. Okay?
25:45 Thumb count takes a knack, but you'll get used to it. Not that hard. If I can do it,
25:49 you can do it. So you say, "Hey, give me a number between one and twenty." So if they
25:54 say ten, you just go one, two, three, four, five. So five and five is ten. Okay, whatever
26:00 number they do, you talk to them. You say, "Are you sure? Are you sure?" Kill in some
26:04 time, thumb counting away. Now we'll pretend this is the side of my pant leg. Thumb off
26:09 the top card, which is the eight of hearts. Press it up against your pant leg. Turn it
26:15 over. Place it face up in the tenth spot. This is an idea of Tom Mullica's. One, two,
26:21 three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Apparently the spectator has cut to the
26:26 eight of diamonds, and then you ask to give them a number. Give a number between one and
26:29 twenty, and it ends up being the matching pair. Have the spectator cut the cards, complete
26:38 the cut. King of clubs. Now what I usually do is a classic force. For those of you people
26:45 who don't know the classic force, you can ask your next door neighbor, or you can look
26:52 in a book. But here I'm going to teach it to you just to be complete. Remember, I'm
26:55 a giver. Put this on top, hold the pinky break. I don't take any chances. I put my finger
27:01 right in there. And then I spread it around like so, and I sort of time it out so that
27:06 they get the king of spades. Got it! They cut the cards again, and we cut to a jack
27:14 of diamonds. These are just basically a series of revelations. The reason why the deck is
27:18 so good, in my opinion, is because you can shuffle the cards as many times as you want,
27:24 and you're still going to find the matching pair. So you can just concentrate on the revelations.
27:30 Here's another revelation that I usually like to do. It's a slip cut, and I kick it out.
27:36 And then I trap it like this. I sort of leave them like that so it looks like they came
27:40 out of the middle. In fast pace, it should look like this. Oops, not like that. That's
27:45 a trial run. There you go. See? Takes a little bit of a knack, but some guys are real good
27:54 at it. King of jack of hearts. Now what I usually do... Oh, another jack. Wow, three
27:59 jacks. Now, to find the jack of spades, usually what I do, turn it face up and I perform a
28:05 move by Aaron Fisher. It's a pop out move, one handed. Little tip on this. This is what
28:12 it's going to look like. Looks pretty darn good, I think. Very clever move. The way you
28:19 do that is like so. Hold the cards in the proper grip. I think this is called the...
28:24 It's not a middle grip, maybe? I don't know, straddle grip. Push the bottom one to the
28:30 side, use the pinky, and lift up with the pointer, and you sort of trap it. Turn it
28:41 over, you got all four jacks. Just to be complete, I'm going to teach you another revelation.
28:47 This one is one I use all the time. Let's say they cut the cards. An ace of diamonds.
28:58 To find the ace of hearts, which again, is on the top of the deck, all you do is fan
29:04 them out. This thumb here out jogs any card, while this hand sort of rests here. Not what
29:11 you've done because I'm a sweaty, creepy person. I have the ace here. Now, some people lick
29:18 their palms, but if you lick your palms, that's kind of gross, man. So, what I would do is
29:24 just wipe the sweat off your brow if you're sweating, working harder than an ugly stripper.
29:28 I don't know what I'm talking about, but we'll move on. Press, lift, and then just sort of
29:36 push it into that area. We'll do it again. Here's the move. Fan them out. Notice how
29:43 my fingers sort of hold the deck. Hand presses, and it sticks because remember, I'm creepy.
29:50 Lift, fingers pick it up, and I scoop up the cards as I put them into place, and I sort
29:59 of make it look like I just pulled out the ace of hearts. So, in full view, or in full
30:05 performance, it would be like this. There you go. Ace of hearts. Cut the cards. Boom.
30:16 Here's another revelation. I learned this off a Trevor Lewis video, and it's kind of
30:20 mixed in with a Gregory Wilson video. The nine of spades is right here, so I just toss
30:25 them, and I get this little card here that's out jogged a bit, and the card directly below
30:33 that is the nine of spades. It's something that happens naturally. Take the nine of clubs
30:38 and set it on the top. Now you're going to flick this card up in the air. It's going
30:42 to do several somersaults. This is in slow motion here, folks. And then you're going
30:47 to, with your thumb, pull back at that out jog card, and it's going to land right here,
30:50 right next to the nine. This, folks, is the showstopper. So you go like this. Like so.
30:58 Hey, mama. Toss it in the air, and you catch it. Of course, sometimes I mess up to prove
31:03 I'm human. We'll do it again. Let's see. There's a five. I lost the nine. See, sometimes you'll
31:10 lose the stack, but it's easy to get back in order. No problem. We'll do it. Ready?
31:18 Catch it. Hey, that was pretty good, kid. Thanks, man. And you turn over the top card,
31:22 and you got the two nines. I'm going to show you another revelation. I don't know what
31:29 this false cut is called, but I learned it off a Simon Lovell video back in the '95.
31:34 Thing was old. Shuffle the cards. Hey. And now here's the Simon Lovell false cut. Remember,
31:45 I'm left-handed, so for those of you right-handed people, tough. Take the bottom half of the
31:51 cards, place them on top, off to the side like so. Now you're going to lift off half
32:02 of this part. Now you're going to take off a quarter. Fingers here. Separate. Now you
32:12 got these two. Drop the top one. Drop this one. Drop this one. Drop this one. Want to
32:22 see it again? Sure. Okay. Take the bottom one, move it to the side. Let it out, child.
32:30 You don't have to. I'm sort of, it's a little ridiculous. You don't have to do it that far,
32:33 but hey, this is for explanation purposes only. The bottom half, lift up half. Take
32:41 a quarter. Separate. Boom, boom, boom, boom. That's a false cut. I'll do it one more time
32:49 because I'm a giver. Off to the side, lift up half, take a quarter, split, hold the break.
32:58 Left, right, left, right. For those of you people who are right-handed, right, left,
33:03 right, left. I think you know what I'm talking about. Okay. Now for the revelation. Select
33:11 a card. Boom, two. Two. Off to the side, lift up half, lift up a quarter, separate, hold
33:22 the break. Left, right, left. My finger here now takes this and I throw it on the top.
33:30 Looks like this. Fast motion. You know, it just looks flashy. You don't have to do this.
33:40 I just do it. It looks like you're just grabbing the two right out of the middle of the deck.
33:47 Now there's many, many revelations you can do with this. I mean, whatever you like. Any
33:53 magic video's got a revelation. What's nice about this is throughout the trick you don't
33:59 have to throw all these Zorro shuffles. Zorro shuffles kind of look a little fishy, you
34:05 know. I don't know. Especially, and they're hard to do. I'm not too good at mine. But
34:11 you can just shuffle. That's what's so great about it. And I like to make it look nice
34:15 and shuffle. The sloppier the better. Very convincing. I think the shuffle is what fools
34:22 people. They go, "Man, I don't know what fake shuffle you're using." After a while people
34:28 just don't know what to think and they stop putting their heads together, I guess. And
34:34 now, usually at this point, I just pair it up with a whole bunch of cards and you give
34:40 it to the spectator and they shuffle the cards like this as many times as they want. Now
34:48 you don't want them to do this kind of stuff. No perfect pharaohs or anything like that.
34:52 If they're doing this kind of stuff, that's when you use your magic for evil. Shuffle
34:59 as many times. Now look. I'm off by one. See? I'm in trouble now. Actually, I'm off by a
35:06 lot. But I like a challenge. So I'll show you how right now how to get rid of that.
35:13 So you go through and all the other cards are paired up. So right about now, this is
35:18 what I would do. I would have them cut the cards. Show the queen. Odds are that the other
35:25 queen is going to be here. So I tilt my hand down. Deal the queen of hearts. Cut again.
35:33 Nine. Odds are the nine of hearts is going to be next to it. I never, when I deal the
35:40 cards out, I never do it like that because I think it might be a little too perfect.
35:45 You know, we don't want people to think you're using a trick deck. So I just add a little
35:47 suspicion, make it look like I'm a pretty cool card guy and I keep it to the side. So
35:52 cut the cards. Got a four. A four. Okay? Now the cards are a little messed up still, but
35:58 it's okay. We're going to keep going until I come out with cards that don't match. So
36:03 I got the tens. I just toss them to the side. Now I'm off by one. Now odds are here that
36:09 the next card down, that's a three. Uh-oh, we're in trouble. But it's okay. I show the
36:14 six, the seven. Okay? Now I go through the deck and I go, "Hmm. I don't, I see the six."
36:20 And I cut. You know, I don't think I have a six of hearts. Now is when I usually do
36:26 a classic force. Hold a break, classic force and the six of hearts. When they take the
36:30 six of hearts out, I go, "Oh, he did get the six of hearts." We got one card out of the
36:35 way. Now we got to find the seven. I go through the deck. Look at that. I just go through
36:39 it to make sure I find the seven. Okay? It could have been over here. I do this. If it
36:43 was over there, I just go, "Hmm, hmm. Seven." Cut again. Now I do another force. Okay? Here's
36:49 another force that's pretty good. This is called the Eddie Fetcher timing force. I learned
36:54 it from another Simon Lovell book. Now that's a great book. You just hold a break. Here's
36:59 the seven of clubs. And then I drop little packets down. And once I drop some packets
37:02 down, I go, "Do whatever you want. Just say stop." And they always stop me on the count
37:06 of three. One, two, three. So I just go, "Do whatever you want. Just go ahead and say stop."
37:11 And then I go, "Stop." Now if they, it takes a little bit of practice. If not, you can
37:16 do the, you know, whatever force, the classic force. Or you can just do one of these. Say
37:22 stop, stop. And then show the seven. Now I start dealing them out again. I got the fours
37:27 together until I get ones that aren't together. They're not together. Now the three of hearts
37:32 should be here. So now I do another revelation. I can do, I'll teach you this. This is a Leonard
37:39 Green top shot. So you pull it down. This is a great move too. Kind of flashy. Pull
37:45 it down with your pinky and your thumb points over and you let go of the thumb and the thing
37:50 flies into the other hand. Takes a little bit of a knack, but hey, if I can do it, you
37:54 can do it. So you just give it a shake. Three. Now you got the queen of hearts. We got to
37:58 go for the queen of spades. There it is. And people go, "Whoa, you're peaking." And you
38:03 go, "Yeah, I'm peaking, but not that much." Now you can do the magician's best friend,
38:07 the double lift. Show the seven. Turn it over. And just to throw them off a bit, I rub it,
38:13 show that it's gone, and then come back. And then it looks pretty good. Now I always put
38:20 them up to me, see how I'm doing. Now I see the sevens are together. I adjust. And now,
38:26 you know, if I want I can cut. Now the cards are all paired up. See? So once you get good
38:33 with it, it's a lot of ad-libbing. People just think that you're a sleight of hand guy.
38:40 At least that's what the reaction I got when I would do the trick all the time. I hope
38:44 you have a lot of fun with this thing. I think the trick is very good. It's like my pride
38:51 and joy here.
