It took Mazhar Ali almost three to four years to build the earth-filled dam, which is at 2,100m above sea level. Almost 12 feet high, 40 feet long, and 24 feet wide, it is situated in the Mohardar mountains behind Boko and Ziarat Koh. With the capacity to store 860,000 liters of rain and snow water, the dam will benefit the surrounding areas by storing rainwater and snowmelt. After March, when the snow melts, the dam will fill with water and become functional.
