00:00:35 [phone buzzing]
00:00:37 Yeah.
00:00:38 [crying]
00:00:40 Hello?
00:00:42 [crying]
00:00:47 Is this Sergeant Morrison?
00:00:50 [crying]
00:00:54 Yes, ma'am. Who's this?
00:00:56 [crying]
00:00:59 My brother with Elias Reyes.
00:01:02 [crying]
00:01:08 He's gone.
00:01:10 [crying]
00:01:16 We have to do something to stop this.
00:01:19 [screaming]
00:01:22 Promise me that you're going to stay safe.
00:01:25 [gun cocks]
00:01:44 [music]
00:02:11 [music]
00:02:33 And the preparation is right. They can beat anybody.
00:02:36 Will!
00:02:38 After the recent departure of Will Phillips, L.A.'s looking to fill the gap,
00:02:41 no pun intended, at strong safety with a highly touted young superstar
00:02:46 who is a rookie. Ramsey Fleet, he put up record-setting numbers at the combine this year, Howie.
00:02:50 Yeah, Michael, this kid is special.
00:02:52 Wide receivers hear those "Fleet" feet coming across the middle, it's game over.
00:02:57 But kudos to Willie Phil. He battled through a tough career riddled with injuries,
00:03:01 coaching changes, and trades.
00:03:03 We know as much as the player wants to deny it, when you retire, it's not on your terms.
00:03:09 It makes it just that much harder to let go.
00:03:11 But Will the Drill, he is without a doubt a legendary journeyman.
00:03:14 Yeah, we'll miss him.
00:03:16 Will, always played like your hair was on fire. We're going to miss you, my friend.
00:03:20 Oh, so I just need to pick up a couple of things from my life.
00:03:26 [crying]
00:03:31 No way.
00:03:34 Hey, Dad.
00:03:49 Think we can finally talk about getting a car?
00:03:52 Dad, Will?
00:03:57 Yeah?
00:03:59 I'm here.
00:04:01 Oh, that's great, sweetie.
00:04:04 What?
00:04:08 Let's go to bed.
00:04:13 I talked to my sister this morning.
00:04:25 She said Tom had trouble adjusting after the Navy.
00:04:29 Tom was a fucking soldier.
00:04:33 Sailor.
00:04:35 Sailor, soldier, it's the same thing. Him and I have nothing in common.
00:04:38 I was a, I played in a league.
00:04:40 And he was on a boat.
00:04:41 Well then, what are we going to do to replace the game, Will?
00:04:44 What about the gym?
00:04:48 I could help you. We could train athletes together and do it as a team.
00:04:52 It's not ready yet.
00:04:55 You're not ready yet.
00:04:57 Baby, I'm not ready.
00:05:01 I'm not.
00:05:04 You know what I put into that?
00:05:06 You know how long I did that shit?
00:05:08 I was supposed to just walk away like it's nothing?
00:05:11 Maybe it's hard for me to figure out what to do after spending more than half of my life doing something that was gone.
00:05:16 And I know I should still be out there, Tracy.
00:05:18 You know I should still be out there.
00:05:23 You're not the only one who's sacrificed, Will.
00:05:26 Oh, I was sacrificing for that before I even met you.
00:05:30 Look.
00:05:36 I got us.
00:05:39 You don't have to worry about it. I promise you I got us.
00:05:43 Willie Phil, it's your favorite sports agent. How you doing, buddy?
00:05:50 Look, man, I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it looks like L.A. is an all-around pass.
00:05:55 I would definitely say stay in shape, you know, stay positive, do not get discouraged.
00:06:00 I think maybe now's a good time to sort of cast an eye to the future.
00:06:04 Sort of post-football plans.
00:06:07 I do think it would be a good idea for you to show up to the game today.
00:06:10 I will leave a pass for you at Lot A.
00:06:13 There's a couple of network guys that are going to be there.
00:06:16 I would love to introduce you to.
00:06:18 So let me know if you can make it.
00:06:20 But I love you, and I'm here for you, okay? If you need anything at all, reach out.
00:06:24 Football is back, Los Angeles. It has felt like forever, but it is back.
00:06:32 And there is so much to be excited about.
00:06:34 The way they have built this team, the way they have constructed it, especially on defense.
00:06:38 You're talking about speed on the edges, a linebacking core that's great in coverage and knows how to apply pressure.
00:06:44 And finally on the back end, we've got players who can change the game for us.
00:06:48 Players who will force offensive coordinators to do things differently.
00:06:53 Ramsey Fleet is everything you want in an NFL safety.
00:06:58 Think of all the biggest names that have played the position.
00:07:00 Ramsey Fleet's going to be right up there.
00:07:02 This kid is just flat out different, and he is going to elevate this entire defense.
00:07:07 Ramsey Fleet has got the X factor that you're looking for.
00:07:10 Yo, hear me back. Where the fuck is Lot A?
00:07:12 When you talk about players who are special, they all have that X factor.
00:07:16 That's what Ramsey Fleet has. You watch them in the preseason.
00:07:19 There was so much to love about the way they played.
00:07:21 You know what Lot A is? Lot A.
00:07:23 And you saw, he's a violent player. He just goes to a different level that not many players can get to.
00:07:30 He's a ball-hawking safety, knows where to be, and how to make the most of every opportunity to take the ball away from the offense.
00:07:36 It is just flat out different, and he is going to elevate this entire defense and this entire team.
00:07:42 He's a game-changer.
00:07:43 Go around!
00:07:44 This is a good team, and they've got really good players.
00:07:47 Really good teams are really good players.
00:07:49 He said fucking go around!
00:07:50 What you need is a savage like Ramsey Fleet who puts you over the top.
00:07:56 Yo, what the fuck are you honking for?
00:07:57 What the fuck you want to do?
00:07:58 I told you, go around. You want to honk, honk now, motherfucker?
00:08:01 I'm trying to go around, man.
00:08:02 What you honking for? Honk!
00:08:04 Honk, motherfucker! Get in there and honk. Honk your fucking horn again.
00:08:07 Go around!
00:08:13 Go around!
00:08:15 Go around!
00:08:17 Go around!

00:10:06 [music]
00:10:08 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

00:10:44 What are you doing?
00:11:03 Hey!
00:11:05 Alright.
00:11:07 That's the thing. Who the fuck do you think you are?
00:11:09 Oh!
00:11:11 You're so fucked up.
00:11:14 You know how many fucking tackles I had?
00:11:16 I know. I know.
00:11:18 Not enough.
00:11:20 You know, you...
00:11:21 You fuck Ramsey Fleet.
00:11:23 You fuck Ramsey.
00:11:25 You fuck you too, you soft-ass bitch.
00:11:31 [door slams]

00:11:36 You fucking...
00:11:40 My brother with Elias Reyes.
00:11:58 He's gone.
00:12:00 [door slams]
00:12:02 We have to do something to stop this.
00:12:11 You promised you would keep him safe.

00:14:03 How did you even get home?
00:14:10 [music]
00:14:13 [music]
00:14:16 It makes people stay away.
00:14:19 Karate fucking can't do it.
00:14:21 You put a staff on top of your roof?
00:14:23 People don't fuck with you.
00:14:25 Oh, a beacon? Sorry, I don't know my ninja status.
00:14:27 Does anybody know Rick was managing a jazz band now?
00:14:30 Oh, hell no.
00:14:32 All the jokes are for me now, huh?
00:14:35 [laughter]
00:14:37 Did you teach me how to mamba number five later?
00:14:43 I'll take a little bit of Jessica in my life.
00:14:45 Hey!
00:14:47 [laughter]
00:14:49 What are you laughing at, Weaver?
00:14:51 You're an incel.
00:14:53 I just don't understand why you don't get new glasses.
00:14:55 Fuck you, Samuel. They cost money, okay?
00:14:57 Okay, but there's got to be some kind of government assistance program
00:15:00 so you don't have to look like that.
00:15:02 Man, you know how the VA is. It takes forever to get an appointment.
00:15:04 They lose your paperwork.
00:15:05 Elias is dead.
00:15:07 Did he, uh...
00:15:13 Yeah.
00:15:18 How many is that--?
00:15:19 Forty-six.
00:15:21 Forty-six Marines from one fucking battalion.
00:15:23 You believe that shit?
00:15:25 I remember when I was in middle school and this girl shot herself.
00:15:27 She was pretty, popular.
00:15:29 I mean, this is all anybody talked about for weeks, for months.
00:15:33 One kid out of our class.
00:15:36 One.
00:15:38 But forty-six?
00:15:41 You remember that patrol?
00:15:45 Where EJ was up on the riverbank?
00:15:48 Lost his footing. Tumbled all the way down.
00:15:52 Face first. Pack was on his back.
00:15:54 Dude is straight up drowning under the weight of it.
00:15:58 We're up on the bank just laughing.
00:16:00 Combat cameraman was fucking trying to fish his ass out.
00:16:03 We were like, "Hell no, bro. You better film this."
00:16:05 Get the shot!
00:16:07 [sobbing]
00:16:09 It's my fault.
00:16:25 Quit checking on him.
00:16:27 Maybe.
00:16:29 Maybe he just saw it as taking a bullet for his family.
00:16:33 You know, like I took that bullet for you.
00:16:36 You gonna throw that shit in my face too, Samuel?
00:16:39 It was a ricochet anyway, you pussy.
00:16:41 Bullshit, dude.
00:16:43 You've been so jealous of me forever.
00:16:45 Why?
00:16:46 'Cause I got two purple hearts and you got one black one?
00:16:50 Oh, shit. Racist.
00:16:52 Oh, geez.
00:16:54 You're canceled, Samuel.
00:16:55 I'm canceled.
00:16:56 Yeah, you gotta get working, bro.
00:16:58 Will!
00:17:03 [engine revving]
00:17:05 Come on, man.
00:17:15 You know where I can find the guy that was here the other night?
00:17:20 Is he around?
00:17:22 Oh, uh...
00:17:24 You mean Zephyr?
00:17:26 His name is Zephyr?
00:17:28 Can I ask what this is in reference to, Mr. Phillips?
00:17:31 Yeah, we were just--
00:17:33 We were just talking football, you know.
00:17:36 You know where I can find him?
00:17:38 No, uh, look.
00:17:40 I can find out.
00:17:42 See you, bud.
00:17:44 [engine revving]
00:17:46 [engine revving]
00:17:48 [engine revving]
00:18:08 [engine revving]
00:18:10 Can I help you?
00:18:32 I'm looking for a Zephyr.
00:18:37 Does he live here?
00:18:39 And you are?
00:18:42 Will Phillips.
00:18:44 I play football.
00:18:48 I mean, I used to play football.
00:18:51 Well, I'm not much of a fan anyway.
00:18:54 What do you want with Zephyr?
00:18:56 He works security where I live, and he helped me out with something,
00:19:00 so I just wanted to come by and, like--
00:19:02 Uh-huh. And what happened?
00:19:04 Hey, it's a little bit of a--
00:19:06 What are you doing here? Sorry, dude, you're like--
00:19:09 I actually used to play football for Army for, like, five minutes.
00:19:12 Oh, man, dope, man. Thank you for your service.
00:19:15 Wait, really? You played?
00:19:17 Yeah, I blew out my knee and then, um...
00:19:20 Some other stuff.
00:19:22 Would you mind saying what's up to the guys real quick?
00:19:25 Yeah, okay, if it's okay with--
00:19:29 Sure, sure. Go ahead.
00:19:31 [indistinct chatter]
00:19:33 There we go.
00:19:44 Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, man. That's an easy catch.
00:19:47 He's basically the hard dick.
00:19:49 Oh, man.
00:19:51 Yo!
00:19:53 What's going on, man? What's up, man?
00:19:55 What's up, brother? I'm good.
00:19:57 Hot damn, Willie Phil! Yes, sir.
00:19:59 How you doing, man?
00:20:01 This is, uh...
00:20:03 Y'all all vets here?
00:20:05 Yeah, pretty much. Army, Marines, chair force.
00:20:08 Oh, okay. That's dope, man.
00:20:10 Yeah, what are you doing in our neck of the woods?
00:20:12 I just came by to see Zephyr, actually.
00:20:14 What the fuck do you want with Zephyr?
00:20:16 Sorry?
00:20:19 This is not every day that, you know, a legend like yourself--
00:20:22 No, wait, hold on, man. Y'all are the real heroes, bro. I'm just an athlete.
00:20:25 Wow, that I agree with.
00:20:28 I'm just fucking with you, man. Relax.
00:20:30 It's all good.
00:20:32 Where's Zephyr?
00:20:34 He's upstairs, man. Let me show you.
00:20:36 Right up here.
00:20:38 You talk to me, you do.
00:20:40 I appreciate it, man.
00:20:42 Appreciate you. Thank you for your service.
00:20:44 Holy fuck, Willie Phil, you guys!
00:20:46 Come on, motherfucker.
00:20:55 [gun cocks]
00:20:57 [knocking]
00:20:59 Hold on.
00:21:01 What are you doing here?
00:21:12 Sorry for just popping up on you like this, bro.
00:21:16 I just wanted to thank you for what you did the other night.
00:21:19 Yeah.
00:21:21 That's cool.
00:21:23 No problem.
00:21:25 Yeah.
00:21:27 Did you get a good look?
00:21:33 This is the barracks.
00:21:35 It's not a place for civilians.
00:21:37 Oscar, I understand that.
00:21:39 Let me just-- Like I said, bro, I just came to let you know I appreciate you for looking out--
00:21:44 Stop. Stop.
00:21:46 You serious?
00:21:51 I think you would have been a handshake.
00:21:54 Well, that's cool, man. I'm down with a handshake.
00:21:58 You really not gonna shake my fucking hand?
00:22:09 I'm good.
00:22:12 You never made a mistake before? I misread the situation.
00:22:15 I'm trying to fucking help you out. Are you gonna give me no bullshit?
00:22:17 You know what? Just leave, then.
00:22:20 Hello.
00:22:22 Hello.
00:22:24 [door opens]
00:22:26 [door closes]
00:22:42 [gun cocks]
00:22:44 [helicopter whirs]
00:22:54 [breathing heavily]
00:22:56 You don't get tired, bitch. Let's go.
00:23:09 Shit. One more.
00:23:15 [grunts]
00:23:19 [metal clangs]
00:23:21 [grunts]
00:23:23 [groans]
00:23:29 [groans]
00:23:31 [groans]
00:23:34 [grunts]

00:24:01 [grunts]
00:24:07 [grunts]
00:24:12 [grunts]
00:24:16 [grunts]
00:24:18 [knocking]
00:24:41 [sniffs]
00:24:43 [gun cocks]
00:24:45 Heard about Elias.
00:24:49 Back when I lived here, I cut off all comms with my unit.
00:24:54 Vietnam.
00:24:56 Well, a lot of guys never really came home, if you know what I mean.
00:25:01 Didn't feel welcome.
00:25:03 How's Samuel?
00:25:07 How's Samuel?
00:25:10 Samuel is Samuel.
00:25:12 Samuel.
00:25:14 I got him.
00:25:17 What about you? How you doing?
00:25:22 When was the last time you spoke with your mother?
00:25:32 There's nothing to speak about, Jim.
00:25:34 She made her choice, and I made mine.
00:25:37 My family's right here.
00:25:40 She must be wondering where you are, how you are.
00:25:43 I know I would be.
00:25:45 Anyway, if you need to, uh...
00:25:48 You know.
00:25:51 [crickets chirping]
00:25:53 [sighs]
00:26:18 [door closes]
00:26:20 Use the filter, please.
00:26:25 You mind if I sit here?
00:26:31 No.
00:26:33 Oh, excuse me.
00:26:35 You know how you, um, asked me how I got home?
00:26:47 Yeah?
00:26:49 One of the guards from the guard shack helped me in.
00:26:52 I wanted to thank him, so I tracked him down.
00:26:56 Then I discovered he's living in, like, this homeless shelter for vets.
00:27:00 And he totally freaked out on me because I tried to give him a couple dollars for helping him.
00:27:04 Well, you tried to pay him?
00:27:12 He probably got you home safe because he's a good person.
00:27:17 Would you just help someone in need because you thought they were gonna pay you?
00:27:21 No, it's different. I'm not homeless.
00:27:24 No, it's not different.
00:27:27 Not everything and everyone in the world is transactional.
00:27:34 [crickets chirping]
00:27:36 My man.
00:27:50 Can I help you, sir?
00:27:54 I'm not here to give you anything but an apology, Paul.
00:28:00 The other night, the day when I came to your spot, like, that shit wasn't cool.
00:28:05 But I truly and genuinely appreciate you.
00:28:09 You looked out for me. Thank you.
00:28:11 And thank you for your service.
00:28:13 Okay, you can stop right there.
00:28:15 It's cool, man.
00:28:21 So do, uh...
00:28:25 There's, like, a lot of soldiers in Hollywood?
00:28:29 Veterans.
00:28:31 Soldiers are in the Army. I'm a Marine.
00:28:34 Navy is Sailor. Air Force is...
00:28:37 Soft as fuck, is what they are.
00:28:41 And how many live in that spot?
00:28:46 39 and three quarters.
00:28:48 And one dude's missing a leg.
00:28:51 You can laugh. He would.
00:28:56 Nah, I don't wanna laugh. That's fucked up, bro.
00:28:59 It's a little fucked up, but...
00:29:01 We're a little fucked up.
00:29:04 Let's get a bite. You and I.
00:29:09 On me.
00:29:10 I appreciate that, but you don't owe me shit.
00:29:13 I don't...
00:29:14 I don't owe anybody shit.
00:29:17 [music]
00:29:22 [music]
00:29:24 Zephyr.
00:29:32 Sound like a cold name.
00:29:35 Negative. Knowledge.
00:29:40 My mom was a hippie.
00:29:43 Was?
00:29:44 She passed?
00:29:49 She's dead to me.
00:29:51 You okay?
00:30:03 How many times did you go fight?
00:30:07 Three total.
00:30:10 Two pumps in Iraq, one in Afghanistan.
00:30:13 Fuck, that's crazy.
00:30:15 I loved it.
00:30:18 You loved it?
00:30:19 Hell yeah.
00:30:20 Think you love it? Playing ball?
00:30:23 Best part of my life.
00:30:25 I'll give anything to be able to just run out on that field one more time.
00:30:31 And just run through a motherfucker's soul.
00:30:35 Nothing compares to that feeling.
00:30:39 Hold on.
00:30:45 Oh, it's my boy Ray. I gotta take this.
00:30:48 Yeah, go for it.
00:30:50 How is everything?
00:30:55 It's really good.
00:30:58 So...
00:31:03 My friend will kill me if I don't ask, but...
00:31:07 Was that Will Phillips?
00:31:09 Yeah.
00:31:10 Cool.
00:31:13 I honestly have no idea who that is.
00:31:16 Well, let me know if you need anything.
00:31:22 What's your name?
00:31:25 Emmy.
00:31:29 What's your name?
00:31:31 Zee.
00:31:33 Nice to meet you, Zee.
00:31:36 It's nice to meet you, too, Emmy.
00:31:39 Hey.
00:31:40 Man, sniper with the ladies.
00:31:48 You know what, man?
00:31:52 I apologize.
00:31:56 For what?
00:31:57 For the other night. That's not who I am.
00:32:00 At least that's not who I want to be.
00:32:06 It's my first year being a civilian. This shit is hard.
00:32:09 I'm trying to figure the fuck out.
00:32:11 Yeah, when I first got out, I felt fucking lost.
00:32:16 Did you have to, like...
00:32:20 Like, you know, go see somebody? Talk to the Air Force or something?
00:32:25 Well, I mean, we had to.
00:32:27 We got back from deployment, but it's just some mandatory bullshit, you know?
00:32:31 Right.
00:32:33 Every time I talk to somebody about how I'm feeling, they say, "Oh, concussions, concussions, concussions."
00:32:37 The problem is not my head.
00:32:39 I mean, I guess it's in my head, but it's not because of banging helmets.
00:32:43 All right. Here you guys go.
00:32:47 I told you I got this one.
00:32:50 Oh. Um, okay.
00:32:52 All right.
00:32:53 Thank you.
00:32:54 You're welcome, Zee.
00:32:56 This one is for you.
00:33:03 [♪♪♪]
00:33:05 There's Mike Tomlin and I at a bar. I head coach at the Steelers.
00:33:11 These guys come in. I knew there was going to be trouble.
00:33:13 Sure enough, Cleveland Brown fans, they go right over.
00:33:16 They're like, "Hey, Browns, go Browns. Take a picture of them."
00:33:19 And Mike's like, "Oh, no, no. We're fighting. We're fighting."
00:33:21 He's taking his watch off like he's in Jersey Shore. He's going to go fight somebody.
00:33:24 "Who are you going to fight?"
00:33:25 "I'm head coach at Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm going to get in trouble.
00:33:28 I don't know why I end up having to fight these guys."
00:33:30 That story tomorrow is going to be Jay Glazer gets in a fight with 10 Browns fans.
00:33:34 Holy you.
00:33:36 I miss your ugly mug and your dumbass stories.
00:33:39 [LAUGHS]
00:33:40 How's it going down at the show?
00:33:42 Man, I just got back from that 40-day NFL training camp tour I do every year.
00:33:46 40 days, 40 nights. I'm like, "No, but with better weather."
00:33:49 You should actually come down to the network.
00:33:51 -Really? -Yeah.
00:33:52 Man, I would love that.
00:33:53 Yeah, we'll put you through the car wash.
00:33:55 The car wash?
00:33:57 Yeah, the car wash.
00:34:00 [LAUGHS]
00:34:02 Man, the car wash is just when you come down to the studio all day
00:34:05 and you're a guest on all the shows.
00:34:07 I'm thinking to myself, "I've got to start at the bottom, but damn."
00:34:11 [LAUGHS]
00:34:13 But seriously, I'm down to do whatever it takes.
00:34:17 I'll be a rookie again, even if that means I have to start off working on the sidelines.
00:34:23 Sidelines not for you, bro.
00:34:26 Uh-uh.
00:34:28 I'd give it a week before you shove that microphone up somebody's ass.
00:34:32 A day.
00:34:34 I mean, there's got to be something I can do, right?
00:34:36 Did you go to the game this week?
00:34:40 Yeah, I went.
00:34:43 Really?
00:34:45 All right.
00:34:47 I'm proud of you.
00:34:49 Ray, did you go right after?
00:34:53 Nope.
00:34:56 I guess football isn't everything, right?
00:35:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:35:28 What are you waiting up for me, baby?
00:35:31 Can I pass my curfew?
00:35:32 They're going to kick you out of here, Samuel. Then what?
00:35:34 Hey, you want some cocaine?
00:35:35 What the fuck are you doing?
00:35:38 Excuse me, could you give me a break?
00:35:39 No chance, even you've got damn drugs.
00:35:41 Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop.
00:35:43 I'm not fucking kidding.
00:35:45 Really?
00:35:49 You're fine.
00:35:52 All I ever do is clean up for you.
00:35:56 I can't keep--
00:35:58 You left that. Ow.
00:36:01 All right, man. Dude.
00:36:05 Let me see it.
00:36:07 All right, come on.
00:36:11 Come on.
00:36:13 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:36:22 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:36:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]

00:37:09 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:37:12 It's good, yeah?
00:37:29 I'm plant-based, so...
00:37:37 I'm kidding. I've been, like, eating more of this oxtail than you have.
00:37:42 Okay.
00:38:03 So if you're not a football player...
00:38:06 What are you?
00:38:08 I had a good job. Fucked it up.
00:38:18 And now I'm a security guard.
00:38:21 That's goddamn terrible. I wear this stupid uniform, and it's just...
00:38:27 No. I mean...
00:38:30 Look, I get it. Who am I? I mean, I'm a waitress.
00:38:36 Yeah, like... Yeah, what do you do?
00:38:39 You have to be an actress. You must be an actress.
00:38:42 Not everyone in L.A. is an actress.
00:38:44 Okay. Whatever.
00:38:46 You're so far away.
00:39:04 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:39:07 Whoa. Hello. My eyes are up here.
00:39:25 No, no. I'm sorry. I was looking at your... I was admiring your necklace.
00:39:30 Oh.
00:39:32 What's it say?
00:39:34 It says, "Mashallah."
00:39:37 Um, it's a blessing.
00:39:40 Is that, like...
00:39:43 Is that, like, "Inshallah" or something?
00:39:46 How do you know "Inshallah"?
00:39:49 So, I used to know this guy. He used to say it all the time.
00:39:56 "Meet you here at noon, inshallah. I will see you tomorrow, inshallah."
00:40:00 I'm sorry. What is that?
00:40:02 That's how he... What is that accent?
00:40:04 That's how he talked. Don't ever do that again. Okay?
00:40:07 Anyway, he would always say it.
00:40:09 And I was like, "What does it mean, 'inshallah'?"
00:40:12 And he said, "Good God willing." Right?
00:40:14 So, I'm like, "God willing? Just be there. What do you mean, 'I'll meet you at noon, inshallah?
00:40:19 I'll meet you at noon, God willing?' No, God doesn't have to..."
00:40:21 Like, just say, "Yes." Yes. I'll be there at noon.
00:40:24 I'll be there at noon. Don't do it.
00:40:26 I'll be there at noon tomorrow.
00:40:28 [phone buzzing]
00:40:32 [car horn honks]
00:40:35 [car engine starts]
00:40:41 [phone buzzing]
00:40:52 Yo, baby. We gotta go hit something.
00:40:56 When you get done playing rent-a-cop, let's get this work in.
00:40:59 Do you even live, bro?
00:41:01 Still a work in progress.
00:41:07 Doesn't look like a work in progress.
00:41:13 Let's fucking go.
00:41:15 Let's go, baby!
00:41:19 [music]
00:41:21 [screams]
00:41:29 [groans]
00:41:30 Relax. Go again and relax.
00:41:33 There you go. Relax.
00:41:35 Turn it up. Turn it up.
00:41:39 Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Yeah!
00:41:43 Thought you said you wanted to hit something.
00:41:45 [music]
00:41:48 [sighs]
00:41:49 Hey!
00:41:59 Oh, shit!
00:42:01 Oh, shit!
00:42:06 You good, bro?
00:42:08 Yeah, man. I'm good. I'm good.
00:42:10 That's all you got?
00:42:16 Huh. What's the story with this spot?
00:42:19 Man, this spot is iconic.
00:42:21 After World War II, vets were coming home,
00:42:23 and they were getting into Hollywood.
00:42:25 And the American Legion, I mean, post '43, was the hangout.
00:42:28 And I'm talking legends like Mickey Rooney, Clark Gable.
00:42:32 It was just a different Hollywood.
00:42:34 My man. Another one.
00:42:37 That was stupid.
00:42:39 I'm gonna be sore as shit, bro.
00:42:41 My body's already banged up as it is. Thank you.
00:42:45 150-pound kids carrying 100-pound rucksacks.
00:42:48 Just tell us, "Suck it up and drive on, hero."
00:42:51 So the coaches used to say, "Are you hurt or are you injured, son?"
00:42:55 I can't really complain, though.
00:42:59 I seen dudes catch shrapnel in the face and refuse to get evac'd.
00:43:03 So if this spot is just for, like, vets,
00:43:08 is it cool that I'm even in here?
00:43:10 Sergeant Morrison, on your feet!
00:43:12 Fuck me, man.
00:43:14 Why?
00:43:16 Addie!
00:43:18 What's up, Willie Bill? You like this place?
00:43:22 Yeah, it's, uh... it's iconic, right?
00:43:25 Oh, definitely.
00:43:27 I hope you don't feel out of place or weird here,
00:43:30 because we're all warfighters, and you're just, like, a civilian.
00:43:33 Dude, come on.
00:43:35 Thanks, Z, for inviting me as your guest,
00:43:39 and thank you all for your service.
00:43:42 You're welcome.
00:43:44 Anyway, this is Rick. He's a Navy vet.
00:43:46 I think you actually met him. What's up, man?
00:43:48 Good dude. What's up? Navy? Yeah.
00:43:50 OK, my brother-in-law was Navy. Oh, yeah? Yeah.
00:43:53 Was he a SEAL? No, he was an intel or something.
00:43:56 Hmm, something pussy or something?
00:43:58 What'd you say?
00:44:00 I said something pussy or something.
00:44:02 Oh, so were you a SEAL?
00:44:08 No, I could have been. I could have been.
00:44:10 Anyway, he was... yeah, he made a lot of different choices.
00:44:13 He was in my squad, so we go way too far back.
00:44:17 So what's the deal? You buying?
00:44:20 I mean, if you don't, I guess it's OK,
00:44:23 but it'd be a little weird, 'cause we're all, like, homeless vets,
00:44:26 and you're, like, a rich athlete. Come on, bro.
00:44:28 It's the least you could do, I would say.
00:44:31 Yeah. OK, good.
00:44:33 But as long as you could keep up with me.
00:44:36 OK, you don't know me, dude.
00:44:38 You hit the floor, you got to pay.
00:44:40 You know I'm a drug addict, right?
00:44:42 Come on, let's do this, baby! Mind it up.
00:44:45 All right, all right, let's go. Yeah, let's do it.
00:44:47 Let's do it. Hell, yeah.
00:44:49 What y'all got some, like, army shit y'all like to say?
00:44:52 Some service. Let's go.
00:44:54 I got it, I got it. Thank you for your service.
00:44:57 Oh, shit! Oh, God damn it! All right, I'll drink to that.
00:45:00 Come on. Cheers. All right, let's go, funny guy.
00:45:02 Ready? Whoo!
00:45:05 [water running]
00:45:07 Baby!
00:45:19 Let me help with breakfast.
00:45:21 I already ate.
00:45:23 Yeah, well, let me help put these away.
00:45:26 You think I don't know where they go.
00:45:32 Cold?
00:45:34 Colder?
00:45:36 Uh, I got you. I'll do it.
00:45:38 Yeah.
00:45:40 Well, I know where this goes.
00:45:42 Cold?
00:45:44 Warmer?
00:45:50 Oh, it's the dishwasher.
00:45:52 I just want to help, baby.
00:46:00 I don't need an assistant, Will.
00:46:02 Well, talk to me.
00:46:07 Just tell me, what do you need?
00:46:11 A massage?
00:46:28 I need to get ready for work.
00:46:31 So you're a pretty good shot?
00:46:41 [gunshots]
00:46:43 Okay, yeah, that's pretty good.
00:46:48 You're an athlete. You'll figure it out.
00:46:52 Just aim center mass.
00:46:55 Center mass, that's my specialty.
00:46:58 You know I shouted a guy's sternum once?
00:47:00 Oh, thank you for your service, Will.
00:47:02 My dog has got to eat, man.
00:47:04 What are you feeding her, caviar?
00:47:06 Let's go, pistolero. You're up.
00:47:10 Finger off the trigger.
00:47:12 Here you go.
00:47:14 [gunshots]
00:47:19 Oh, yeah, I like this.
00:47:21 Like you said, you've never done this before.
00:47:23 You're pretty badass.
00:47:25 Even better when they're coming back at you.
00:47:28 Nothing on Earth compares.
00:47:30 You telling me you miss getting shot at?
00:47:33 You miss running down on kickoff, don't you?
00:47:36 Dodging bullets?
00:47:38 Hell no, that shit was crazy. No.
00:47:41 Most of my post-traumatic stress
00:47:43 is from lack of traumatic stress.
00:47:46 So while you were over there, did you ever, like...
00:47:52 Did you ever kill anybody?
00:47:54 Shouldn't ask that, man.
00:48:01 Yeah, that was stupid. My bad. I shouldn't have said that.
00:48:04 It's all good.
00:48:06 Hey, why don't you go put fresh paper up?
00:48:11 I'll keep reloading.
00:48:14 [gunshot]
00:48:16 What the fuck, man?
00:48:36 Yo, what the fuck?
00:48:38 Yo, me too, man!
00:48:43 [gunshots]
00:48:45 Yo, Z, chill out, man!
00:48:50 Fuck!
00:48:52 Yo, Z!
00:48:56 Please, please, please, bro.
00:49:00 Shit! Motherfucker!
00:49:07 I should kill you, man! I should fucking kill you!
00:49:10 I should fucking kill you!
00:49:12 What's wrong with you, man?
00:49:15 What's wrong with me?
00:49:17 How you feeling, badass?
00:49:19 How you feeling?
00:49:22 Good?
00:49:24 You playing? You just fucking playing?
00:49:27 Nothing on Earth compares.
00:49:29 Oh, shit.
00:49:36 All the feeling, it's fear, it's adrenaline, it's focus.
00:49:39 I haven't felt anything like that since then.
00:49:42 Oh, shit.
00:49:44 Man, I fucking missed the locker room!
00:49:47 Fuck!
00:49:49 Don't you still have one?
00:49:51 What do you mean?
00:49:53 Will, you own a gym.
00:49:55 Why not make it a locker room?
00:49:57 I'm sure you're not the only has-been from the league that misses it.
00:50:01 Fuck you, Zephyr.
00:50:03 You're lucky I don't break your neck.
00:50:08 I should still fucking kill you.
00:50:10 It's cold.
00:50:35 It's cold.
00:50:37 Oh, shit. What you over there dreaming about?
00:50:44 I was all alone in this Afghan village.
00:50:48 There's Taliban everywhere.
00:50:51 They were shooting at me.
00:50:53 I was on point, though, bro.
00:50:56 You mean you were just lighting them up?
00:50:59 Pew, pew, pew.
00:51:03 I mean, don't get me wrong, man, I have plenty of nightmares.
00:51:06 But for me, the hardest dreams, the worst dreams...
00:51:09 ...are the ones where I got a family.
00:51:13 And I feel like I belong.
00:51:17 I feel like I matter.
00:51:19 Those dreams are the worst, 'cause they're the hardest to wake up from.
00:51:24 The crazy part about that is, like, that's my reality.
00:51:28 I got the wife, the family, the whole shit.
00:51:31 And I don't feel like I belong.
00:51:33 I don't know what's going on with my daughter.
00:51:35 It's like I got nothing.
00:51:37 I got everything and nothing at the same time.
00:51:40 Your daughter's lucky.
00:51:45 Nah, she just has a hell of a mom.
00:51:48 Where's your mom?
00:51:52 Shit, I don't know.
00:51:56 Somewhere up the coast.
00:52:00 Doesn't matter.
00:52:02 She had me when she was young.
00:52:05 Her parents kicked her out of the house, 'cause she wouldn't put me up for adoption.
00:52:09 We were homeless 'til I was eight years old.
00:52:12 Then, she married this asshole just to put a roof over our heads.
00:52:16 This guy used to hit her, man.
00:52:20 Right in front of me.
00:52:22 I used to hold my half-sister and cover her eyes so she didn't have to see that shit.
00:52:26 My mom just stayed with him. I begged for her to go, and she wouldn't go.
00:52:30 Is that worth a roof to you?
00:52:32 I couldn't wait to get out of that fucking house.
00:52:37 And I ain't never going back.
00:52:40 Getting pregnant young is hard as fuck.
00:52:47 We were 16 when we found out we were having an angel.
00:52:51 And it was like, figure this shit out, or you all gonna drown.
00:52:58 [Birds chirping]
00:53:01 You know how you said I could still have the locker room and my gym?
00:53:09 What if we had some of your dudes come down and get in there with some of my dudes?
00:53:22 [Sighs]
00:53:24 It sounds like they could benefit from it.
00:53:28 Yeah.
00:53:31 Yeah, maybe they could.
00:53:34 What the fuck else are they gonna do?
00:53:38 Well, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back.
00:53:43 Ever.
00:53:45 It's awful.
00:53:46 Wow, dramatic.
00:53:48 It was-
00:53:49 Alright, it wasn't that bad.
00:53:50 It was bad. It was just phony.
00:53:52 Well, it's a movie, so it's not gonna be completely realistic.
00:53:56 Right, but it said based on a true story.
00:53:58 I mean, I was in disbelief. I didn't believe any of it.
00:54:00 I didn't believe it.
00:54:01 You're so upset.
00:54:02 I mean, you can't do that. It's just like-
00:54:04 [Snorts]
00:54:05 Okay, yeah.
00:54:06 Oh my god, I'm sorry. Sorry. It's just-
00:54:10 It's just bad.
00:54:11 It's an involuntary thing.
00:54:12 It's worse than that movie.
00:54:13 What?
00:54:14 That's not involuntary.
00:54:15 Oh my god, that's so mean.
00:54:16 You know what? I'm done. No more laughing for the rest of my life.
00:54:19 I appreciate it.
00:54:20 I'll just, you know, be serious forever and then eventually just kill myself.
00:54:24 Yeah, don't do that.
00:54:31 Do you ever have one of those moments where you're like,
00:54:37 "Holy shit, do I actually live in Hollywood?"
00:54:41 Mm-hmm. Yeah.
00:54:47 I have them every day, actually.
00:54:50 Or should I like walk away and-
00:55:06 No, I'll walk you away.
00:55:09 I mean, I'll walk you out.
00:55:12 And maybe call me.
00:55:16 Yeah, I'm gonna call you.
00:55:18 Wow, so the worst movie you've ever seen?
00:55:21 I've seen worse.
00:55:23 Hey, Will, man. I was just about to call you.
00:55:32 You getting my messages, bro?
00:55:34 Yeah, I got your message. What, about sweating it out with some homeless dudes or something?
00:55:38 No, man, I passed. But listen-
00:55:41 No, no, no, no, no. They're not homeless dudes.
00:55:44 They're veterans that are just living in a shelter right now.
00:55:47 Because they don't have homes.
00:55:50 But look, man, I got you.
00:55:52 I will come down, make an appearance-
00:55:55 Bro, you not getting the point. You don't got me.
00:55:57 It's not a make an appearance kind of thing.
00:55:59 I'm trying to create like a locker room, you know what I mean?
00:56:03 Ooh, alright.
00:56:05 So anyway, man, listen.
00:56:08 The network, they're launching a new show this week.
00:56:10 They're looking for a new co-host.
00:56:13 You down?
00:56:15 Yeah, sure.
00:56:18 Alright. I'm gonna call Tom.
00:56:21 Ray Ray, you sure I can't get you to come down to the gym, bro?
00:56:27 Tony G's gonna be there. It's gonna be dope.
00:56:29 Nah, man, I'm cool.
00:56:31 Alright, Ray Ray. Big time. I'll see you.
00:56:35 See you.
00:56:37 How are your boots doing?
00:56:47 You look terrible. You slept?
00:56:50 Man, I sleep when I'm dead.
00:56:52 We're heading up to Willie Phil's gym.
00:56:56 You should roll with.
00:56:58 Oh, man. I'd rather not.
00:57:01 Not a charity case. No offense.
00:57:03 But if you're afraid a civilian might kick your ass.
00:57:06 Fuck off. I'm gonna get my gear.
00:57:09 You gotta get in that body, Tony.
00:57:30 Ah!
00:57:32 Oh, shit.
00:57:38 Speed is power.
00:57:44 Thank y'all for coming out, man. Thanks for coming down.
00:57:51 This is crazy, 'cause I just met Z, but I never thought I'd have anything in common with a war hero.
00:57:56 I'm not a war hero.
00:57:58 Just 'cause I went to war doesn't make me a hero.
00:58:00 Well, listen, fellas. I didn't join the Army to demonstrate my patriotism.
00:58:06 I enlisted because I got my girlfriend pregnant.
00:58:08 I wasn't gonna be like my dad. I knew that's what I had to do to support my kid.
00:58:12 You know? I never saw combat.
00:58:15 But through the Army, taught me work ethic, taught me what sacrifice was.
00:58:21 I learned what I needed to walk up in that cage and fight.
00:58:25 But I still feel like a failure.
00:58:28 I mean, my dream was to be an Olympic wrestler, but I never made that happen.
00:58:32 Hell, I didn't start fighting till I was 33.
00:58:35 Yeah, but then you were the five-time heavyweight champion of the world, you know?
00:58:38 Six times.
00:58:40 Oh, shit. Six. OK.
00:58:42 It's like your whole identity gets wrapped up in that uniform.
00:58:45 That's how it was for me.
00:58:47 That shit went away, and I've just been like...
00:58:50 I don't know who the fuck I am anymore.
00:58:55 Figured 'cause I served, I'd have all the opportunities, you know what I'm saying?
00:58:59 All that "thank you for your service" trash, I couldn't wait to get out.
00:59:05 I figured that shit would be easy.
00:59:07 Shit's not easy.
00:59:09 I'm still transitioning.
00:59:11 Transition sucks.
00:59:14 I remember the first year after I retired, I took the wife out to Spain.
00:59:20 From an outside perspective, the transition was going well for me.
00:59:24 I had a job, I was on TV, I was making good money.
00:59:27 The whole week we were there, she could tell something was up.
00:59:31 So we're sitting at a cafe, and she asked me, "What's wrong?"
00:59:35 It was the first time that I'd thought about it, but it dawned on me that I'll never be great again.
00:59:41 I peaked.
00:59:43 I started crying.
00:59:46 17 years in the pros, Hall of Fame career.
00:59:50 I didn't feel like I belonged to anything.
00:59:53 Felt like I didn't have a home.
00:59:55 Home, man.
00:59:58 What's that?
01:00:00 My dad...
01:00:08 My dad was a Marine too.
01:00:11 He was tough.
01:00:15 He took a lot out on me, but...
01:00:17 at the end of the day, he took it all out on himself.
01:00:21 Just figured the world would be a better place with one less problem in it.
01:00:27 Yeah.
01:00:31 It is what it is, right?
01:00:36 It's okay, bro.
01:00:38 At some point, I guess we all gotta just rip the band-aids off, you know?
01:00:44 [♪♪♪]
01:00:47 [♪♪♪]
01:00:58 [♪♪♪]
01:01:14 [♪♪♪]
01:01:17 No, you cannot blame that play on the quarterback.
01:01:37 That's too high, too high.
01:01:39 No, you cannot blame that play on the quarterback.
01:01:42 No, you cannot blame that play on the quarterback.
01:01:45 Give the fucking-- No, you can't say "fucking" on TV.
01:01:48 You gotta give the safety some credit.
01:01:50 All right, so, no, it's a great question, Tony.
01:01:53 Retirement is never easy, but I've always been passionate about broadcasting.
01:02:00 Passionate and interesting, passionate and interesting.
01:02:04 Passionate.
01:02:05 How long have you been standing there?
01:02:11 Long enough to know I'm passionate about you in that suit.
01:02:14 Really? Mm-hmm.
01:02:17 Yeah.
01:02:19 I know you'll crush it, baby.
01:02:22 But if this broadcasting deal doesn't work out, what's our plan B?
01:02:28 What is this?
01:02:34 Is it--
01:02:36 Is this you don't think I can do it?
01:02:40 I think you can do anything you put your mind to, but I--
01:02:43 Also know that just because you can doesn't mean you should.
01:02:48 Mi amor.
01:02:53 If you just put an ounce of the effort that you put into football into us,
01:03:00 we can't lose.
01:03:03 We're your team now.
01:03:09 [♪♪♪]
01:03:11 Okay?
01:03:16 Yeah.
01:03:18 [♪♪♪]
01:03:23 [♪♪♪]
01:03:25 Yo, Big Willie.
01:03:48 What is up, my dude?
01:03:51 Say, what up?
01:03:52 Hey, hey, hey, hey.
01:03:54 Breathe.
01:03:56 Listen, listen.
01:03:57 I came into this gig 1993.
01:03:59 I walked in that giant locker room, saw all these other media members there.
01:04:03 I didn't have the same experience as them.
01:04:05 I didn't have the same education as them.
01:04:07 But motherfucker, I'm different.
01:04:08 I know what's behind my ribcage and between my ears
01:04:10 makes me fucking different than anybody else.
01:04:12 Same with you.
01:04:14 You good?
01:04:16 Let's go.
01:04:17 Good? Let's go.
01:04:18 Okay, plus Tom will take care of you. Trust me.
01:04:20 Yo, Jay.
01:04:21 What you think of, like, you know, the suit?
01:04:24 You look like shit.
01:04:25 Motherfucker.
01:04:27 Sam.
01:04:34 Yo, Samuel.
01:04:38 Z, thanks for taking us to Will's gym, bro.
01:04:42 Yeah, man. One try, one fight, right?
01:04:45 Seriously, though. We really appreciate it.
01:04:49 Have you seen Samuel?
01:04:50 Legion?
01:04:52 Oh my gosh, yeah.
01:05:06 Yeah, anywhere but here.
01:05:07 Yeah, it's the worst show I've ever been a part of.
01:05:11 Yes, I know.
01:05:12 But, uh, two quarter pounders.
01:05:13 But you gotta order without pickles.
01:05:15 Bite.
01:05:16 Oh my God.
01:05:18 Big time Philly Will.
01:05:20 What's going on, playboy?
01:05:22 Tom Arnold?
01:05:24 That's right.
01:05:25 Who'd you expect? Tom Brady?
01:05:27 Well, what is your show?
01:05:31 What is my show?
01:05:32 Fantasy football's the show.
01:05:35 Welcome to the dark side, Philly Will.
01:05:39 That's my James Earl Jones.
01:05:41 Needs some work.
01:05:42 What impressions do you do?
01:05:45 What do you do?
01:05:46 Hey, Wes. Can you give us a minute?
01:06:01 Yeah.
01:06:02 Oh, goody.
01:06:03 Thanks.
01:06:06 I'm shooting these, Wes.
01:06:07 Look, man.
01:06:13 I'm gonna move on.
01:06:14 You know?
01:06:16 I'll be stuck at the barracks,
01:06:18 dragging you and everybody else down.
01:06:21 Then I think,
01:06:23 how am I gonna move on?
01:06:25 I'm just gonna forget about all those dudes
01:06:28 that died next to me?
01:06:29 That's not forgetting.
01:06:31 Would you wanna be the guy that everybody else
01:06:36 always comes back for?
01:06:39 Over and over and over again.
01:06:42 Just 'cause you can't stop being
01:06:44 the fucking fallen comrade, dude.
01:06:46 The weak boot.
01:06:48 Look, man. I'm setting you free.
01:06:50 You think you gotta take care of all of us,
01:06:53 but you don't.
01:06:55 I can take care of myself.
01:06:57 Can you?
01:06:58 Hey!
01:06:59 Sorry. Survivor's guilt is a difficult condition
01:07:02 to medicate for.
01:07:04 I know that, Samuel.
01:07:05 I was there, too.
01:07:08 Look, man.
01:07:09 It's honestly an insult to the rest of us
01:07:12 that you stick around and act like you're the same.
01:07:16 Go home.
01:07:18 See your mom.
01:07:19 It's not that simple, man.
01:07:21 It is.
01:07:23 See, it is that simple.
01:07:24 There is a difference between can't and won't.
01:07:27 I can't.
01:07:29 You won't.
01:07:31 You won't.
01:07:32 All right, man.
01:07:38 You're free.
01:07:40 Look at this.
01:07:57 One giant step for bad,
01:08:00 and then another step.
01:08:02 Two steps.
01:08:04 Look at that.
01:08:06 We got lights and shit.
01:08:08 Well, you're lucky to be here.
01:08:12 I mean, I am, too.
01:08:14 Yeah, I had some problems, also.
01:08:16 What were yours?
01:08:18 You don't mind me asking.
01:08:20 Money.
01:08:22 Probably kids.
01:08:23 A lot of kids.
01:08:25 What kids? Okay.
01:08:26 Probably a lot of marriages,
01:08:29 like I have to.
01:08:30 No, I've the same wife 16 years, Tom.
01:08:32 Really?
01:08:34 Well, she's a saint.
01:08:35 I think we both agree.
01:08:36 Well, we've all had gambling problems.
01:08:39 Tom, what are we doing here?
01:08:42 What's the show?
01:08:44 I'll tell you something.
01:08:45 Football has changed a lot since you earned your prime.
01:08:49 I know football, Tom.
01:08:51 Do you?
01:08:53 Let me ask you a question.
01:08:54 Pop quiz.
01:08:55 Who led the league last year in fantasy football points?
01:08:58 It was a wide receiver, so you probably played against him.
01:09:00 Can you tell me?
01:09:02 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
01:09:04 This is fantasy football.
01:09:07 This is the future.
01:09:09 Okay?
01:09:11 Millions of people who didn't give a shit about the football that you played.
01:09:15 And I'm talking about real people.
01:09:17 I'm talking about women and children.
01:09:19 And children who are women and women who are children.
01:09:23 Untap market.
01:09:25 And you, you are part of it, Phil.
01:09:27 You just call me Phil?
01:09:28 Yes.
01:09:31 Welcome back, wizards, warlocks, dragons and unicorns of the fantasy football world.
01:09:37 I am your fantasy man, Tom Arnold.
01:09:41 And now for the big moment.
01:09:43 Wizard Will is going to cast a spell with his enchanted pick of the week.
01:09:55 Maybe he would say something like, like Odell.
01:10:00 Hello, fans of magic and wonder.
01:10:04 That's what we do here.
01:10:06 A moment ago, Phil was standing here, Will.
01:10:11 Now, poof, he disappeared.
01:10:15 You just full of surprises, bro.
01:10:16 You hanging out at horse ranches?
01:10:18 Yeah, I muck the stalls, help with the grooming.
01:10:21 They let me ride whenever I want.
01:10:23 Y'all got a good expression in the military.
01:10:29 I'm a good guy.
01:10:31 I'm a good guy.
01:10:33 I'm a good guy.
01:10:35 I'm a good guy.
01:10:37 I'm a good guy.
01:10:39 I'm a good guy.
01:10:41 I'm a good guy.
01:10:43 You got a good expression in the military for expectation versus reality?
01:10:46 I got a lot of expressions for that.
01:10:49 What's going on?
01:10:53 Oh, man, the network.
01:10:57 I'm thinking I'm gonna go down there, be on the corner of 21st and Prime with Dion,
01:11:02 and instead they had me on the corner of fucking Hogwarts and Narnia or some shit, man.
01:11:08 It was fucking stupid.
01:11:11 Fuck fantasy football. Tom Arnold has never put cleats on a day in his life.
01:11:14 How could he tell me how to talk about...
01:11:16 Easy, easy, easy.
01:11:18 Horses feel a hell of a lot more than we do.
01:11:20 If you act like a threat, they're gonna treat you like a threat.
01:11:22 I'm sorry, buddy.
01:11:27 You should feel lucky, man.
01:11:36 I don't bring anyone out here.
01:11:38 Not even from the barracks.
01:11:41 That sounds sweet, but you're still not getting any.
01:11:43 This is a nice spot, though.
01:11:46 So I've been thinking about going up north.
01:11:54 Like just going down PCH.
01:11:57 Stopping at the beach. I think it'd be dope. You should come with me.
01:12:01 Yeah, I'm not really a beach guy.
01:12:06 Come on, Z. It'll be fun.
01:12:10 Plus, you...
01:12:11 You know, it'd probably be good for you to see your mom.
01:12:14 I know what you're trying to do, bro.
01:12:16 I just think it'd be good for you, man. Trust me.
01:12:20 Like, good for you, good for her if y'all could reconnect.
01:12:24 You don't know what's good for us, Will.
01:12:32 My bad. I didn't mean to overstep.
01:12:33 Well, you fucking did.
01:12:35 No, my bad. I didn't mean to overstep.
01:12:38 Relax.
01:12:43 Man, some of us aren't ready to just rip the band-aids off.
01:12:49 Doesn't work like that.
01:12:51 Well, then how does it work, Zephyr?
01:12:53 You know, you can't just rip the band-aids off.
01:12:56 You gotta get the band-aids off.
01:12:59 Doesn't work like that.
01:13:00 Well, then how does it work, Zephyr?
01:13:02 Since you clearly got it all figured out.
01:13:05 I'm listening. How does it work?
01:13:10 I know you mean well.
01:13:20 Just stay in your lane.

01:14:39 Obligatory father-daughter time?
01:14:44 What's up?
01:14:47 Guys at the gym couldn't hang out today, or...
01:14:51 Burn.
01:14:54 No, um, listen.
01:14:56 I know that...
01:14:59 I've been caught up in my own world, in my own shit, and like...
01:15:03 Just being...
01:15:05 Ridiculously selfish.
01:15:07 And I haven't even thought to ask, like...
01:15:09 How are you doing?
01:15:11 I'm fine.
01:15:18 Mm-mm. That's not gonna work on me.
01:15:21 I don't know, Dad.
01:15:23 I don't feel like I...
01:15:27 I don't feel like I fit in anymore.
01:15:29 That actually makes me feel really good.
01:15:32 Good?
01:15:35 Not that you feel bad, but...
01:15:37 It's like now I know I'm not alone.
01:15:40 And do not tell your mom I said that.
01:15:43 I won't.
01:15:45 I always felt different.
01:15:47 But then I realized, like...
01:15:49 I don't wanna fit in. I don't wanna be like everybody else.
01:15:53 Yeah.
01:15:56 And I know I don't do the best job of, like...
01:15:58 Being here.
01:16:01 But I swear to you, I love you so much.
01:16:04 I love you, Dad.
01:16:06 Alright, let's not do this, like, sentimental shit.
01:16:12 I think I'm losing my edge.
01:16:14 What is "Emmy" short for?
01:16:18 Is it "Emily"?
01:16:20 Wow. You're a genius.
01:16:22 "Emmy" short for "Emily."
01:16:25 Yes. "Emmy" short for "Emily."
01:16:26 I mean, where did you get that one?
01:16:28 But no, it's my initials.
01:16:31 M-E.
01:16:33 Miriam Elias.
01:16:35 Elias?
01:16:37 Like Elias?
01:16:39 Yeah, that's how Americans say it from the Middle West.
01:16:43 Miriam Elias.
01:16:45 What about you?
01:16:49 What does "Zephyr" mean?
01:16:51 Asshole?
01:16:54 [sigh]
01:16:55 Soft, gentle breeze.
01:16:58 No way, are you serious?
01:17:00 Yeah.
01:17:02 That's amazing.
01:17:03 It's pretty bad.
01:17:04 I like it.
01:17:05 I have a confession.
01:17:21 I'm...
01:17:22 really boring.
01:17:26 Boring's not a bad thing.
01:17:32 That's reality, isn't it?
01:17:34 It's life.
01:17:36 It's just boring sometimes.
01:17:38 Everybody's trying to live their best life.
01:17:41 Isn't just living enough?
01:17:43 I got a lot. I got more than most.
01:17:46 I'm not entitled to anything.
01:17:48 I haven't earned it.
01:17:49 No, you don't believe that.
01:17:51 It's like, don't you want...
01:17:53 I don't know, a relationship, family?
01:17:56 I mean...
01:17:59 Yeah, I think so.
01:18:04 I know you can't go.
01:18:12 Oh, drive!
01:18:14 Oh!
01:18:15 Buckets!
01:18:16 Watch.
01:18:17 Watch out.
01:18:18 Step back!
01:18:20 Catch!
01:18:21 Motherfucker. Go home, bro.
01:18:22 Go home.
01:18:23 Let's get it.
01:18:24 Oh.
01:18:26 Oh.
01:18:27 When we train with the vets again?
01:18:34 I don't know, bro.
01:18:37 Do you really think we deserve a seat at the table with them?
01:18:39 When I went down there,
01:18:41 I thought I was going down for a community service project
01:18:44 or something like that.
01:18:46 I had no idea it was going to be exactly what I needed.
01:18:49 That sense of belonging?
01:18:53 It was something I haven't had in a long time.
01:18:56 I would never compare battlefields to ball fields,
01:19:00 but the camaraderie, the purpose, the pride?
01:19:03 It's crazy how all that stuff matches up.
01:19:06 What you got, man?
01:19:11 What you got?
01:19:13 Ready for this?
01:19:16 Oh!
01:19:17 Still got it for an old man, huh?
01:19:20 Whoa, whoa, whoa! High speed!
01:19:43 Step in here a minute.
01:19:45 Jim, I got like two minutes.
01:19:49 Wow.
01:19:51 You look like five pounds of shit in a two pound bag.
01:19:54 Long night?
01:19:56 What do you want? Guys are waiting on me.
01:19:59 See, your mom called.
01:20:02 What?
01:20:08 I can't lie for you.
01:20:11 I'm just an administrator.
01:20:13 Did she really call?
01:20:18 Or did you call her?
01:20:20 I didn't call your mom, okay?
01:20:22 What the hell happened to confidentiality, Jim?
01:20:24 I don't know who got in contact with her.
01:20:26 God damn it!
01:20:27 And I know this is not about reconciliation.
01:20:33 It's not even about your mom.
01:20:35 You can't come home until you go home, son.
01:20:40 You understand?
01:20:41 I can't go home if I never had one.
01:20:45 Z!
01:20:49 Good. Now add the other two.
01:20:55 Alright.
01:20:56 Nice!
01:20:57 Did you call my mom?
01:20:58 Did you contact my mother?
01:21:01 Bro, I don't know what you're talking about.
01:21:03 Man, you want to train? We'll train.
01:21:05 Stay out of my life, Will.
01:21:07 We're Jim bros, not brothers.
01:21:10 What'd you do? Call the VA?
01:21:12 Get my next of kin?
01:21:14 Tell them I'm at risk?
01:21:16 I appreciate that, bro.
01:21:19 Come on, motherfucker! Hit me, bitch!
01:21:34 Fuck you!
01:21:36 Hey! What the hell?
01:21:38 You guys are supposed to be taking care of each other.
01:21:40 You're poking the bear, you're gonna get hurt.
01:21:43 Gloves off.
01:21:45 My whole life, I never fit in.
01:21:53 And I think it's because people didn't see me for me.
01:21:58 But when I put on that uniform, I could be as masculine as I wanted to be.
01:22:03 As strong as I wanted to be.
01:22:06 My whole life, I was shamed for that.
01:22:08 Didn't go so hot down at the network.
01:22:12 I guess I kind of set myself up for failure.
01:22:15 I had all these expectations, like my man was talking about the other day.
01:22:19 Does anyone else have something they want to say?
01:22:21 Something you want to get off your chest?
01:22:23 Because if you do, now's the time.
01:22:26 Well, if nobody wants to volunteer, can I nominate somebody?
01:22:33 You're the reason we're all here, Z.
01:22:35 Man, it's time for you to put your own oxygen mask on first.
01:22:39 We all got shit to address. So dress your shit.
01:22:42 I'm good.
01:22:43 Just gonna sit through.
01:22:45 That "suck it the fuck up" is one of those military expressions you probably get off on.
01:22:49 Nah, man. How you gonna drag all of us down here?
01:22:52 Pull all our fucking skeletons out, and you're gonna skate?
01:22:55 Go fuck yourself, Samuel.
01:22:56 Alright, you fucking coward.
01:22:58 What'd you say?
01:22:59 Oh, I called you a fucking coward.
01:23:01 [Sounds of fighting]
01:23:13 Get off me!
01:23:14 Fucking calm down.
01:23:15 I'm a coward?
01:23:16 Quit being such a pussy and just...
01:23:18 Fuck all y'all.
01:23:30 Yo, Z!
01:23:31 Z, stop!
01:23:33 I invite you to my gym and to my brotherhood, and you fucking disrespect it like that?
01:23:39 Brotherhood?
01:23:40 You don't know a thing about brotherhood, Will.
01:23:42 I literally brought Hall of Famers down here for you and all these other homeless vets and...
01:23:48 Homeless vets?
01:23:49 That's right. That's all we are.
01:23:53 I shouldn't have said that, man.
01:23:57 Maybe this just wasn't a good idea.
01:23:59 Yeah, no shit, Willie Phil.
01:24:00 I mean, what were we thinking? We're just gonna...
01:24:03 Un-fuck ourselves by working out?
01:24:05 Sit in a circle? Kumbaya?
01:24:07 I can't just talk this shit out, man.
01:24:09 Yo, Z.
01:24:13 Z, my man, bro. Z!
01:24:15 We're good.
01:24:17 Enjoy your new family. They're all yours.

01:26:50 Nah, it's my problem.
01:26:53 I'll fix it.
01:26:54 Hey, what are you gonna do, you know?
01:26:59 Holy shit, look at that sunset.
01:27:02 [♪♪♪]
01:27:08 [♪♪♪]
01:27:36 Hey, Z.
01:27:37 Look, I haven't been 100% real with you.
01:27:51 I know.
01:27:56 I know what this is. I've seen it before.
01:28:00 No, you don't know.
01:28:02 [♪♪♪]
01:28:05 It's not something I'm proud of.
01:28:09 Hey, we're all ashamed of something.
01:28:12 I'm homeless.
01:28:16 Technically.
01:28:19 Like, technically you're in between homes homeless?
01:28:26 Like, I live in a shelter.
01:28:29 For veterans.
01:28:32 It's not like we're a cardboard sign by the side of the road homeless.
01:28:35 It's just...
01:28:36 Why didn't you tell me?
01:28:39 I mean, why didn't I tell you?
01:28:45 If I told you, you wouldn't fucking talk to me.
01:28:47 You wouldn't hang out with me. You wouldn't go out with me.
01:28:49 I thought you were always homeless.
01:28:50 All right, okay, listen.
01:28:51 Calm down. I'm at work.
01:28:52 Z.
01:28:53 Okay, look.
01:29:00 I need time to process this, okay? It's a lot.
01:29:05 Let's just process this right now.
01:29:07 Why don't I just call you later?
01:29:08 No.
01:29:09 You know what? Fine.
01:29:12 [♪♪♪]
01:29:27 [♪♪♪]
01:29:30 Is that where I told you I'm at work? I can't talk right now.
01:29:48 Did you leave my number?
01:29:50 What?
01:29:53 You don't really know anything about me.
01:29:55 I'm a fake.
01:29:56 Listen, Zephyr, can't I just call you later?
01:30:00 Emmy, it's too late. I'm too fucked up.
01:30:04 Zephyr, we're all fucked up. You don't think I'm fucked up?
01:30:07 Just forget about me.

01:32:20 You look like you could still play.
01:32:24 Hey, so, hey, guys, I want you to know that it is an honor for me to be here.
01:32:30 And I want to thank you all for your support.
01:32:32 [all exclaiming]
01:32:33 I'm just fucking with you, man.
01:32:42 [all laughing]
01:32:45 Jake, you're the cursor.
01:32:46 It's an honor, dude. Get in here.
01:32:47 Come on, let's go. Let's hustle.
01:32:49 Yo, where is he?
01:32:51 I don't know, man.
01:32:53 I haven't seen him.
01:32:55 [phone buzzing]
01:32:59 What do you want, Jim?
01:33:11 Where are you, Z?
01:33:14 Don't worry about me. I'm fine.
01:33:15 I'm not calling about you.
01:33:19 What are you talking about, Jim?
01:33:26 What the hell's going on?
01:33:28 Where's Samuel?
01:33:30 There's nothing you could have done.
01:33:33 Where are you? I'll get you. I'll bring you home.
01:33:39 [claps]

01:34:37 Prepare our asses?
01:34:39 [all laughing]
01:34:41 Come on, big man.
01:34:43 You got it, pumpkin.
01:34:45 Up and down.
01:34:46 Zero.
01:34:48 Help. Help. Help. Get up.
01:34:49 [all laughing]
01:34:51 I got you!
01:34:53 Oh, shit, man.
01:34:54 Oh, come on.
01:34:55 Oh, damn.

01:36:21 [wind howling]
01:36:23 I told you, Will.
01:36:25 We're gym bros, not brothers.
01:36:28 I don't have your back.
01:36:36 And you don't got mine.
01:36:38 That's not true.
01:36:42 I do have your back.
01:36:45 Not your fucking problem, man.
01:36:47 You kinda are.
01:36:50 Just stop.
01:36:51 So just let me help.
01:36:53 I don't want your goddamn help!
01:36:54 I'm gonna do it anyway.
01:37:00 Back the fuck up!
01:37:01 What the fuck?
01:37:03 Stop trying to fix me, Will!
01:37:04 I'm fucking broken!
01:37:06 Just like you and everybody else once.
01:37:08 You want us to be all fucked up,
01:37:10 so you have an excuse as to why you didn't go fight,
01:37:13 why you were too fucking scared.
01:37:15 You're goddamn right I'm scared.
01:37:18 I'm scared right now, you got a fucking gun in my face!
01:37:20 You think you got a monopoly on pain?
01:37:24 You don't.
01:37:26 Everybody's fucked up.
01:37:30 My third year in the league,
01:37:32 the doctor calls me and tells me
01:37:34 my mom has less than 48 hours to live.
01:37:37 It's a Friday.
01:37:40 I still play on Sunday.
01:37:45 I was losing a football game
01:37:46 while my mom took her last breath, bro.
01:37:48 And I told everybody I play
01:37:53 because that's what she would've wanted me to do.
01:37:55 I wanted to honor my mom.
01:37:57 I only play 'cause I was scared
01:38:02 of losing my starting spot.
01:38:04 I was scared of losing my starting spot.
01:38:06 I was scared of losing my starting spot.
01:38:08 I was scared of losing my starting spot.
01:38:10 I was scared of losing my starting spot.
01:38:12 I was scared of losing my starting spot.
