A circulating social media video showing a disturbing incident that took place on May 4, following the ongoing clashes in Manipur, India. The incident occurred in B Phainom village, Kangpokpi district, where two Kuki women were paraded naked by a mob. Tragically, one of the women was also gang-raped during the incident.
The video captures several men, apparently Meiteis, walking alongside the two women as they are led into fields, with some of the men groping the women. In response to the incident, a Zero FIR was filed by the Saikul police in Kangpokpi district on May 18. A Zero FIR allows filing the case in any police station, regardless of jurisdiction, and it was later forwarded to the Nongpok Sekmai police station. The Zero FIR includes charges of rape and murder against ""unknown miscreants"" numbering between 800 to 1,000.
