00:00 "Okay, go ahead."
00:01 "Welcome to our killer reveal party."
00:03 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're discussing everything we know about
00:07 only murders in the building season three.
00:10 "But you think they're secret?"
00:11 "We are not prepared to confirm any theory at this particular juncture."
00:14 For this video, we'll be looking at the most notable details that have been revealed about
00:18 the hit show's third season. Since we'll be discussing major plot points from seasons one
00:23 and two, a spoiler warning is now in effect. Who or what are you most excited to see in season three?
00:29 Let us know in the comments.
00:31 A murder outside the building
00:35 The season two finale saw our podcasting amateur sleuths Mabel, Charles, and Oliver
00:40 solve the murder of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger,
00:44 revealing the criminal's identity at their killer reveal party.
00:47 "As in a party that reveals a killer, or a reveal party that's going to be a killer?"
00:53 "See? It is confusing."
00:54 The culprit was none other than Cinda Canning's overworked assistant Poppy,
00:59 aka Becky Butler, the victim at the center of All Is Not Okay in Oklahoma.
01:03 She was arrested along with her boyfriend/accomplice Detective Kreps, aka Glitter Guy.
01:09 Soon after, the series jumped ahead one murder-free year to the opening night of Oliver's
01:14 new theater production, starring Charles and Ben Glenroy. It's quickly established that there's
01:19 some beef between the two co-stars.
01:22 "Be smart. Stay away from her."
01:25 "Why? What are you gonna do?"
01:31 "Ben, I know what you did."
01:34 Ben wants Charles to apologize, and Charles has some ominous words for Ben in return.
01:40 After their tense moment, the curtain opens, and Ben only gets a couple of lines out before
01:44 he dramatically falls to the stage. Because of his previously established cough and the
01:49 blood coming from his mouth, we suspect he's been poisoned. However, everything isn't always
01:55 as it seems on Only Murders.
01:56 "You've gotta be f---ing kidding me."
01:59 What does Charles need to apologize for? Who does Ben need to stay away from?
02:04 What did he do, and what's Charles going to do about it?
02:07 That's already at least three new mysteries to explore in season three,
02:11 and solving them will hopefully answer the season's biggest question, who killed Ben Glenroy?
02:18 "Well, you know, a lot has gone on, but look, this is what I suggest. Use it."
02:24 New cast and recurring stars
02:26 With a new season comes new characters, one of which we got to meet in the finale.
02:31 Paul Rudd made a brief but impactful appearance as Ben Glenroy,
02:34 the season's victim, who died in front of an audience.
02:37 "Let me tell you."
02:39 "A creep."
02:54 "Let me t- help."
03:06 From the little we've seen, his character seems combative and arrogant,
03:10 and we know Charles is not a fan. Even if he isn't the friendliest,
03:14 we can't wait for some stellar Rudd comedy.
03:16 "I'm the pro here, alright? You don't have to worry about me."
03:20 Another huge addition to season three of Only Murders is Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep,
03:25 who plays Loretta, seemingly another cast member in Oliver's play.
03:29 That's all we know about her character so far.
03:31 Well, that, and she's sporting some adorable braids.
03:35 "Oh my god, it's me! Oh, I'm so sorry. Oh, I'm sorry, it's me. Isn't it?"
03:40 Also likely taking the stage in Oliver's production is Ashley Park,
03:44 best known for her roles as Mindy in Emily in Paris, Naomi in Beef, and Audrey in Joyride.
03:50 "Hello. What are we supposed to show?"
03:51 "You're a fan of Cardi B, right?"
03:54 "Yeah. Is she here?"
03:55 The multi-hyphenate began her career in theater, singing,
03:58 dancing, and acting in productions like Mean Girls.
04:01 On Only Murders, Park will fittingly portray a Broadway ingenue named Kimber.
04:06 "Regina is the queen, but I'm the head of worker visas. I am seated at her right hand."
04:10 "Like a Jewish princess, Jesus."
04:12 It was announced in October 2022 that Grey's Anatomy alum Jesse Williams joined the cast as a,
04:18 quote, "documentarian with a particular interest in the case," per Deadline.
04:22 It's unknown if he'll suspect the trio of murder or will want to prove their presumed innocence.
04:27 "I don't, I don't, I don't know a lot. We actually have a table read next week.
04:31 I'm, I'm over the moon, I mean."
04:33 Williams also has theater experience, and his 2022 Broadway debut as Darren
04:37 Lemming in Take Me Out earned him a Tony nomination. On top of that,
04:42 Don Darryl Rivera, Linda Eamond, Jeremy Shamus, Alison Gwynn, Gerald Caesar,
04:48 and Wesley Taylor were all cast in undisclosed recurring roles.
04:52 However, a behind-the-scenes snap from Taylor reveals his character's name to be Cliff.
04:57 "Da da da da, da da da da, da da da da, da da da da, da da da da, yeah!"
05:03 Returning cast and characters
05:05 Though we're excited to get to know new characters, we also miss our favorites.
05:09 "Is this really happening again?"
05:11 "Well, you know, who are we without a homicide?"
05:13 It's safe to say that Steve Martin's Charles Hayden Savage,
05:16 Martin Short's Oliver Putnam, and Selena Gomez's Mabel Mora aren't going anywhere.
05:22 Andrea Martin, for her part, returns as Joy, Charles' new girlfriend.
05:26 Now, we only saw her in two episodes last season. But according to her,
05:30 Joy has a more significant role this time around.
05:33 "Are you suggesting tonight?"
05:34 "Yes."
05:36 "Oh, Charlie, finally you got it out."
05:42 In other exciting news, one cast member promoted to series regular is Michael Cyril Creighton,
05:47 aka Arconia's resident yodeler Howard Morris.
05:50 "And I once auditioned for the part of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
05:55 "The way you worded that makes it sound like you didn't get it."
05:57 "That is correct. But it has nothing to do with talent, despite what my mother said."
06:02 He always infuses the show with a fun energy and dynamic,
06:05 so we're excited to see what amusement his increased presence will bring.
06:09 We also expect to see more of his romantic interest Jonathan, played by Jason Vesey.
06:14 Fingers crossed the pair are still together.
06:16 "We'll duet. I'll do Simon, you do Garfieldo."
06:21 Season 2 also saw Charles bonding with his former partner's daughter Lucy.
06:25 She was in the audience with Mabel and Joy at the play, so it's likely we'll see her again.
06:30 But Zoe Colletti hasn't officially been confirmed to make a return.
06:34 "Follow me."
06:35 "Follow you? You're not a part of this."
06:37 "I am calling your mother."
06:39 Meanwhile, Tina Fey's rival podcaster Cinda Canning became an important part of last season.
06:45 It's uncertain if she'll make a comeback, and in what capacity, if any.
06:50 If she does return, we wonder whether she'll retain her new "good guy" status or not.
06:55 "I don't normally consider promotions until year five, but uh, yeah. Let me have a think on it."
07:02 Meanwhile, it's been confirmed that Nathan Lane's Teddy Demas will not return for season 3
07:07 due to a scheduling conflict. However, we're not sure if this means that Teddy's son Theo,
07:11 played by James Caverly, will be absent as well.
07:14 And unless Bunny comes back in spectral form, she won't make any more appearances.
07:19 Except perhaps in older flashbacks.
07:21 "Oh my god, she's crying."
07:23 "Okay, seriously, what is going on with this woman?"
07:25 Furthermore, we don't necessarily expect to see last season's culprits,
07:33 Poppy/Becky and Kreps, since they were arrested by Divine Joy Randolph's character Detective
07:38 Williams. We're not sure if Williams herself will be there to help the trio out with the
07:42 latest murder, but we sure hope to see her.
07:45 "Get a new hobby. Now. I do not give a damn what it is, just as long as it doesn't land you in jail."
07:50 But what about Jan? She was in prison in season 2, and we don't anticipate Amy Ryan's reappearance.
07:57 Charles dumped Jan via his stunt double, Jane Lynch's Sazh Bataki. It has been reported that
08:02 Lynch is likely coming back in some capacity, so who knows what could happen next.
08:07 "Doing anything for it?"
08:08 "Hell yeah."
08:10 "Well then I'll continue."
08:12 More faces we'd like to see are the Arconiacs, Jaboukie Young-White's Sam,
08:16 Daniel Oreskes' Marv, Ali Stroker's Paulette, and Orson Hong's Grant.
08:21 "Our fans, you rascals. Issue yourselves a spoiler alert."
08:25 Oliver's big Broadway return
08:27 The first two seasons of Only Murders in the Building were mainly set, as the title suggests,
08:32 in and around the Arconia apartment building. Season 1 was largely about Mabel's connection
08:38 to Tim Kono, and the second season dug into Charles' father's messy past.
08:42 "The guy had so many secrets. I mean, did he even want to be an actor? Did he really
08:47 want to live in this building? Is that a shadow?"
08:50 Characters venture out into New York to chase down leads and sometimes go to work.
08:55 But both whodunits were specifically tied to the Arconia. With season 3's murder taking
09:00 place in a theater, will our heroes spend more time sleuthing around there?
09:04 "That's what we're doing here. We're starting a new show."
09:07 Series co-creator John Hoffman explained to Entertainment Weekly that the third season
09:12 focuses more on Oliver and his Broadway comeback. And since Ryan Broussard is returning as his son
09:17 Will, we'll likely see more of their relationship and how they're dealing, or not dealing, with last
09:23 season's DNA debacle. With Will getting involved with his son's school play last season, he might
09:28 be a bigger presence during Oliver's year-long preparation.
09:31 "Thank you for never giving up on me, Willie."
09:35 No more Mabel and Alice
09:37 Last season, Mabel met artist Alice Banks, and the pair had a brief relationship. But Alice
09:43 betrayed Mabel by taking her pain and using it for art, which led to their breakup.
09:47 "I like you, Alice. But I don't trust you. And I can't be with someone I don't trust."
09:56 In the finale, Alice helps put on a show to get a confession out of Poppy/Becky.
10:00 Afterwards, we see her renovating Mabel's apartment with her.
10:03 "And does this become integrated into your new design? And do I?"
10:07 "Uh, no. But you could grab a roller and help, please."
10:13 While Cara Delevingne could still make a return, it would probably only be in a platonic way,
10:18 according to Hoffman. As far as we know, there are no plans to give Mabel a major new love interest.
10:23 Of course, Aaron Dominguez could always reprise his role as Oscar Torres, but Mabel made it pretty
10:28 clear in Season 2 that they're better off as friends. Still, it's entirely possible the team
10:33 has a fresh romance up their sleeves for her. "A super valuable painting of your father that
10:40 was stolen from a murdered woman's apartment, planted in yours. And that's the part you can't
10:44 get over? The sex part?" After all, in March 2023, set photos of Selena Gomez in a wedding dress
10:51 emerged, leaving fans wondering if Ms. Mora will tie the knot this upcoming season. Her co-stars
10:57 also don formal wear, and yes, pretty much everyone online made the father of the bride reference.
11:02 So could she be a runaway bride? "We-we-we gotta follow them. I'm gonna get my car, you stay on.
11:08 All right, I'll wait. Wait, you have a car? Go after them on foot, and then call me when you
11:12 know where they are, and then I'll swing by and pick you up. Okay?" The likelihood she's marrying
11:16 either previous love interest is slim. Another photo shows Mabel, Charles, and Oliver seemingly
11:22 fleeing. So the whole thing could be a ruse. Whatever the case, we're excited to see it play
11:27 out. "Did you follow me? That is so messed up." Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our

11:52 to back. Now we can start talking to each other like people and not just about murders." "Right."
11:58 Shortly after season two of Only Murders in the Building began streaming in June 2022,
12:06 Hulu announced the hit series was already renewed for a third season. And lucky for us,
12:11 it was a relatively short wait. Filming of season three reportedly commenced in January 2023 and
12:17 wrapped in April. "That's a wrap!" That same month, Steve Martin first revealed the August 8th release
12:26 date alongside Martin Short during their "You Won't Believe What They Look Like Today" show.
12:31 Official confirmation came a short while after this, along with reports that two episodes will
12:36 apparently premiere. "New York City. Who doesn't want to become the talk of the town here?"
