00:00 Four people were involved in the crash across three separate vehicles.
00:05 It happened about four o'clock in the morning, about 30 kilometres south of Gympie.
00:09 Police say a 25-year-old man travelling in a white four-wheel drive was known to a 25-year-old
00:15 woman travelling in a ute with a 65-year-old man.
00:19 Police allege the 25-year-old man allegedly rammed the ute a number of times before the
00:25 ute tried to flee that four-wheel drive onto the other side of the highway.
00:30 That caused a crash with a third vehicle.
00:32 Our initial investigations indicate that the white Isuzu MUX was following the Nissan Navara
00:38 and attempting to ram it.
00:41 That Nissan Navara has then travelled into the southbound lanes on the Bruce Highway
00:44 and collided with that Great Wall motor vehicle.
00:47 The three people involved in that crash have died.
00:50 The 25-year-old man remains in hospital under police guard.
00:54 He is known to police and the car he was travelling in was allegedly stolen at knife point in
01:01 Gympie yesterday afternoon.
