00:05 The two fishermen found their cattle.

00:13 While checking in at a resort in Sarayaya, Quezon,

00:19 a 63-year-old woman from Santa Cruz, Laguna,

00:23 who lost one of her dogs on July 18,

00:26 was given a leash to bring the dog back.

00:30 A concerned citizen helped her

00:31 to inform the victim's family that her dog was seen being killed by two men in the area.

00:38 According to the police report,

00:39 the victim's dog was still found being killed on a table.

00:44 The suspects were a 51-year-old fisherman and a Alias Bunso.

00:50 An animal rights group also investigated the dog.

00:54 This is an illegal act.

00:56 It's really totally an illegal act.

01:00 It's not a law by law.

01:01 The Animal Welfare Act prohibits the killing of animals.

01:06 The fisherman was already in prison while Alias Bunso was still being searched.

01:11 They were facing a complaint of violation of the Animal Welfare Act

01:15 that has a prison sentence of two years and a fine of up to P100,000.

01:20 Animal Kingdom Foundation is ready to provide legal assistance to the owner of the dog.

01:25 They also encouraged the official barangay to consider the matter

01:30 and remind the residents that killing and eating of dogs is illegal.
