00:00 President Bongbong Marcos is set to give his second State of the Nation address.
00:04 The second SONA will be held at the Batasang Pangbansa Complex in Quezon City.
00:10 The president is confident to report progress, but some sectors have expressed their disappointments.
00:18 He is also confident that the government will be able to provide assistance to the people of Quezon City.
00:24 [Sound of a waterfall]
00:34 We want to hear that the gas prices should be lowered.
00:40 We hope that our livelihood here in the tricycle business will be good.
00:49 Because the gas prices are increasing, the gas prices are increasing, and the prices of the business are decreasing.
00:54 We will lower all the purchases, the promises of the PBB before it sits.
01:02 Because now, the promises are not just fulfilled, but all the purchases are increasing.
01:10 We want the prices to be lowered so that our people can support us.
01:20 We want the prices to be lowered, and the gas prices to be increased.
01:28 We want the prices to be lowered because the prices are increasing, and the people are not able to afford it.
01:36 So we should focus on that so that the people who buy food can afford it.
01:41 The 20 pesos per kilo that he promised, I don't know what will happen.
01:53 In his speech, President Marcos is expected to assess his administration's performance over the past year
02:00 and unveil his agenda for the Filipino people in the upcoming years of his presidency.
02:08 We want the President to, for example, highlight the fact that we have developed the Philippine Export Development Plan
02:17 for the next five years, up to 2028. Because that will be the basis for generating support all around.
02:27 And when we get the support, we'll be able to fully implement the plan.
02:33 We know that consistently the President will be making a statement that environmental sustainability is important for inclusive development.
02:58 So that's what we're hearing, but we're confident that in this presidency,
03:04 President Bongbong is seeing the actual link between climate change, environment, and human development.
03:12 The direction of our President is food security, with the effect of climate change.
03:16 So that will be included in our President's direction on how he will address it, especially our agriculture pushes the economy.
03:26 So all of that, generally, should be included in our President's direction.
03:31 I suppose that the challenges and how the administration has responded to the challenges of the recovery
03:43 coming from the recovery period after the pandemic will be highlighted there.
03:49 And the performance of the economy, I think that as you may have known, the performance of the economy is the envy of our neighbors in the world.
03:59 We're one of the best performing economies now, despite the external headwind.
04:06 And I hope that that will be recognized and we'll be made part of the economy.
04:12 Because I think the President has worked so hard for that.
04:15 The President is to be congratulated for fulfilling his pledge in the last SONA for the passage of that new Agrarian Emancipation Act.
04:27 In just a year's time, he was able to fulfill that promise.
04:32 And that will benefit over 600,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries.
04:38 But looking ahead, there is still a big backlog of agrarian reform beneficiaries, or potential agrarian reform beneficiaries,
04:51 who have yet to be fully covered by the land transfer component.
04:54 They've been there only for 365 days.
04:58 I've been there only for, what, six and a half months.
05:01 And people already want us to achieve gargantuan results, products.
05:09 Let's not do that.
05:10 You supported this administration with 31 million votes.
05:14 Please continue to support it until the end of its political life in 2028.
05:19 And after all, why are you putting the government in the pivot of your life?
05:24 You are supposed to be the active participants in our government.
05:27 Government is there only to regulate.
05:29 It's not supposed to create value.
05:31 The private sector is there to create value.
05:34 So I hope, I like to pound this in the heads of, what, 110 million Filipinos.
05:42 Always wear sandals in the government, for God's sake.
05:46 Do it yourself.
05:48 You're so good at complaining.
05:51 You are participants.
05:53 You are participants in making a better Philippines.
