04:00 the casino [INAUDIBLE] and you, who are so afraid to go on stage.
04:06 There's Dada, who holds my hand, who puts me on his shoulders to melt the crowd.
04:11 There's you, who makes me cry, singing "My Little Girl" by Carousel,
04:15 as we cross Lincoln Square Park, in a New York coupe Corvette, early 80s,
04:20 and this taxi driver, who begs us to get into his taxi for free,
04:23 who can't get over our conscience, and you, who have a lot of fun,
04:27 and who says, like every time, this strange phrase, "They wouldn't dare."
04:32 There's you, this very sad Valentine, who tells me not to eat the candies
04:36 in the heart of Chelsea Hotel.
04:38 Watch out, my darling, there must be drugs in there.
04:41 There's you, with the beard, eight-month-old,
04:43 sewing your father's head back together with your sewing kit.
04:46 He smashed his head on the porcelain of the water closets.
04:50 There's Roman and me, you embark on the little island of rabbits
04:53 in the boat that Jacques bought you, quickly regretting,
04:55 because you might not have inherited your father's sailboat.
04:59 We had gone around the island and we found it in the middle of the beach.
05:02 "Oh, shit," you said.
05:06 You forgot the tides.
05:08 You, once again, who wrap us in your sweater,
05:09 pulling the air of the distress rockets.
05:12 There's the sea rescuers who come and save us once again,
05:15 and who, with double titles, I think, call you "my love."
05:19 There's Ivan, so beautiful on the boat, with Charlotte in his arms.
05:23 There's you, barely standing, let's go and protest once again.
05:27 I'm going to patrol the house urgently once again.
05:31 Your arm hurts and we laugh because we forgot
05:33 if it's the left or the right that is hurting us.
05:37 There's me, the day of my birth, with you,
05:38 who writes the contractions on your arm.
05:41 And when we get to the hospital with John,
05:44 you show the nurses your half-erased hieroglyphs,
05:46 saying, "She's here."
05:48 There's me, who often annoys you,
05:50 who asks you to be a little more reasonable.
05:54 And when they tell me, with Charlotte,
05:55 that it's maybe not reasonable, in the middle of a twilight,
05:57 to go as close as possible to Fukushima.
06:00 There's Kate and you, climbing the grids of a garden in England.
06:04 There's you, who draws hippopotamuses in Africa with Roman.
06:07 There's you, who draws girls in a showcase in Belgium,
06:10 and who asks me to slip the drawings under the door.
06:13 And she's delighted that he's throwing kisses at you.
06:16 There's us, running to Kyoto behind the geishas,
06:18 you wanting her to put makeup on me,
06:19 and the lady in the stairs who stops us,
06:21 but who lives under your charm, and lets us in, in a catamaran.
06:25 There's you, in the Renault 5,
06:26 covered in stickers, "Don't touch my friend."
06:29 The back seat, covered in goodies,
06:30 going from retirement home to retirement home,
06:33 and asking us, with Roman,
06:34 to make us believe we're going to see our grandparents,
06:38 so we can spend time with little old people we don't know.
06:42 And the lady you loved, who never finished her sentences.
06:45 There's your dinners, and the ten proportions,
06:47 four ducks for six guests.
06:50 There's your eye-holes, and the eye of a mouse,
06:52 and the spider web you draw on the walls of your houses.
06:57 There's you, who makes Souchon laugh,
06:59 putting on your dresser,
07:01 that you're exhausted because you repeat,
07:03 morning, noon, and evening.
07:05 There's little David, who you take under your wing,
07:08 after your mother's death.
07:09 There's little Michel, faithful,
07:11 in the corridors of Agissen, in all the theatres.
07:14 There's Ben and his skin, riding in the veranda.
07:17 There's Marlowe and Alice, with all their bad blows,
07:20 picnicking under the sculpture of the cow,
07:22 in the middle of the night.
07:24 There's Charlotte and Kate, in this house,
07:26 rented to the people of Gaul, crying and laughing,
07:28 trying to find out who has the knees that touch.
07:30 There's you, who's going to see Mimi,
07:32 you, who's going to see Jacqueline,
07:33 you, who's going to see Ivette, always without fault.
07:36 There's Gabriel and you,
07:38 radiant little English girls,
07:39 bound together for 50 years,
07:42 from all the adventures, all the nonsense,
07:45 and all the dramas.
07:47 There's you, in a red dress, barefoot,
07:49 making the heads and the scenes of the whole world turn.
07:52 There's Nelly, who you called Jeeves,
07:54 in the last months.
07:56 There's PG Whitehouse,
07:57 who I read to you like you read to Grandpa.
07:59 There's Stéphane, who tells you,
08:01 "Shut up, Alice, with your eyes closed, smile."
08:04 There's Joe, who knocks on the window
08:06 on the way to school to tell you, "I love you."
08:09 There's Laszlo, your little puff,
08:10 who you let play with the oxygen cable
08:12 saying it would be a funny ending.
08:15 There's you, who said you'd race with him,
08:17 to whom he'd be the first to stand up to walk.
08:21 And you won.
08:24 You, who stands up and is strong again
08:26 for Ben's wedding, braving everything,
08:29 with your cane and Marlowe and Romain in your arms.
08:32 There's Tessa, who you find so sweet.
08:35 There's you, who dies and lives again,
08:38 and again,
08:39 who stands up so fragile to intensive care
08:41 to greet your queen.
08:43 There's you, who says, "Baf, baf, baf."
08:47 Can we be compared to a year?
08:50 There's all your cartoons on your orange boxes.
08:53 There's the version of the three little pigs,
08:54 nothing of the same.
08:56 There's Gus, who drinks and you call your oracle.
09:00 There's Jane B.
09:01 There's My Pony of the Ocean,
09:03 who's been in my head since Sunday.
09:06 There's the letters of love from Jacques,
09:08 surrounded by a red ribbon I found under your bed.
09:11 There's your me, near mine,
09:13 Malo, his Dinelle.
09:15 There's you, who made everyone pass before you,
09:18 and sometimes before us,
09:20 and sometimes it pissed us off.
09:23 You, who loved your audience more than anything,
09:25 more than anything.
09:27 You, who calls Olivier to ask for the Olympics' date.
09:31 There's Charlotte and Orman yesterday,
09:34 near you, one last time.
09:37 Mom, thank you for all these adventures.
09:41 Thank you for not being ordinary,
09:44 reasonable or docile.
09:47 This world of tomorrow,
09:49 peaceful and reasoned,
09:52 it's already pissing me off.
09:56 [applause]
09:58 (applause)
10:00 (water splashing)
