00:00 While the candidates for the general elections are gradually taking over the field,
00:04 violent acts are beginning to be recorded.
00:07 Indeed, in a provincial tour for two days in the Ogué-Ivindo,
00:12 then in the Haut-Ougué, the presidential candidate,
00:15 Alexandre Barrault-Chambrier, saw his cause ripped apart
00:19 on Sunday, July 23, during the France-Ville stage.
00:23 Would the Haut-Ougué be hostile to the political personalities of the opposition
00:27 in this electoral period?
00:30 It is at least the feeling that could arise
00:32 in view of the acts of intimidation,
00:34 or even violence, recorded in recent days.
00:38 Thus, after Raymond Doncima, on July 20,
00:41 who saw one of his causes being disturbed by individuals,
00:45 it is the turn of the candidate Alexandre Barrault-Chambrier
00:48 to pay the price for his unnameable acts.
00:50 It was 4 p.m. when a dozen young people entered,
00:54 about 15 minutes after the start of the cause,
00:57 in the concession of the municipal elected representative of France-Ville,
01:00 Marcel Libama, host of the event.
01:03 According to the testimonies collected by Gabon Media Time,
01:07 some were chanting "Yahali, Yahali",
01:09 while other armies of Cayu and Gourdin
01:12 were clearly coming with the intention of unmasking them.
01:15 According to the spokesman of the National Assembly for the Motherland and Modernity,
01:19 Tsenge Joyce Lafitte, some were already infiltrated
01:23 among the supporters of the candidate before the group's intrusion.
01:27 For about ten minutes, it was chaos.
01:30 Chairs were torn, the two camps were thrown projectiles.
01:34 The candidate Alexandre Barrault-Chambrier had to be exfiltrated
01:39 while the tension was going down.
01:41 After being repulsed by the numerous participants of the opponent,
01:45 who came to listen to him, the attackers folded back
01:48 in a street facing the concession,
01:50 and the clashes continued for many more minutes,
01:55 with the use of projectiles.
01:58 Unacceptable intimidation.
02:00 The opponents stood up against those they identified
02:04 as people visibly manipulated by the regime's barons,
02:08 and openly condemned their violence.
02:10 "We condemn these acts of violence and take as witnesses
02:14 the international community",
02:16 said the spokesman of the National Assembly for the Motherland and Modernity.
02:19 He also regrets that we are still in the same situation as in 2016,
02:24 with violence and intimidation.
02:27 Even without a bell from Marcel Libama.
02:30 "The vote is a secret of the PDG.
02:33 And Chambrier, for him, is not a Gabonese.
02:35 Chambrier of Provence is for us, the PAN and others.
02:39 We can't get here.
02:41 It's a Belgian election, it's recorded.
02:44 And you know we wanted to win this election.
02:47 We want to secure a public place.
02:49 We want to secure a public place.
02:51 We want to secure a public place.
02:53 We want to secure a public place.
02:55 We want to secure a public place.
02:57 We want to secure a public place.
02:59 We want to secure a public place.
03:01 We want to secure a public place.
03:03 We want to secure a public place.
03:05 We want to secure a public place.
03:07 We want to secure a public place.
03:09 We want to secure a public place.
03:11 We want to secure a public place.
03:13 We want to secure a public place.
03:15 The event was delocalized, according to the spokesperson,
03:18 in a place that was not planned,
03:20 after numerous refusals that they have tried elsewhere.
03:23 Despite everything, the supporters of Alexandre Barraud-Chambrier
03:26 affirm their attachment to calm and to appeasement during these elections.
03:31 Thus, while regretting that the police did not move,
03:35 despite the proximity of the places of the event with certain sensitive places,
03:38 such as the governorate,
03:40 the spokesperson of the RPM declared
03:42 "We want peaceful elections and to reaffirm the attachment of his party
03:47 to the living together of Gabonese people."
03:49 Noting that similar events occur regularly in this province,
03:54 considered as the "guardian chess of the presidential party",
03:58 in August 2021, the village of the former minister Jean-Pierre Lembumba-Lepandou
04:03 had been ravaged by a fire in Okonja,
04:06 on the eve of a tour in the province of the president of the RPM,
04:09 Alexandre Barraud-Chambrier.
04:11 An affair that never led to arrests
04:15 and that went down in the drawers of justice.
