00:06 1.
00:09 Penis Snake A creature discovered by engineers building
00:14 a dam in the Amazon is a type of limbless amphibian that resembles an earthworm or a
00:20 snake-like penis.
00:22 Little else is known about the species, although it is thought to be aquatic and lacks lungs
00:28 breathing through its skin instead.
00:31 Vermiform, eyeless, grey in colour and each measuring approximately 3 feet long, six specimens
00:38 of this species were found at the bottom of the Maduro River during the draining of a
00:43 portion of it by engineers in November 2011 for a new hydroelectricity dam in the northern
00:49 Brazilian state of Rondonia.
00:52 Sadly, however, one of them died, but three of the others were released back into the
00:58 river shortly afterwards, with the remaining two being retained for further scientific
01:03 study and formal taxonomic identification.

01:10 Red-Lipped Batfish What I find most interesting about the red-lipped
01:15 batfish is they are horrible swimmers that prefer to walk along the ocean floor.
01:20 This particular fish has some weird-looking fins that have been modified to use as legs,
01:27 much like some other deep-sea fish.
01:29 The red-lipped batfish loves to trick their prey into coming nice and close.
01:35 They do this by using a shiny lure that projects from their head.
01:40 This attracts small animals such as crabs, mollusks and shrimps, which of course is probably
01:47 the last thing any of these prey species see before they meet their demise.
01:53 This strange-looking fish is not even close to being at risk.
01:56 As far as we know, they have no threats and should stick around for a long, long time.
02:04 3.
02:05 Sandua Colugo The Malayan flying lemur is one of only two
02:10 species of flying lemur, the other one being the Philippine flying lemur.
02:14 They have a body length between 33 and 42 centimeters, a tail length between 17.5 and
02:21 27 centimeters, and they weigh between 0.9 and 2 kilograms.
02:26 The Sandua flying lemur is not a lemur and does not fly.
02:30 Instead, it glides as it leaps among trees.
02:33 A strong kite-shaped membrane known as the patagium surrounds their body and when they
02:40 extend this it enables them to glide over 100 meters between trees with very little
02:45 loss in height.
02:47 The Sandua flying lemur is a skillful climber but is helpless when on the ground.
02:52 The Sandua flying lemur is protected by national legislation.
02:57 In addition to deforestation and loss of habitat, local subsistence hunting poses a serious
03:03 threat to this animal.
03:06 4.
03:08 Sea Pig The animals commonly known as sea pigs are
03:12 in fact a type of sea cucumber.
03:15 Despite their abundance, most people will never see a sea pig, as they live in the coldest
03:20 and deepest parts of the ocean.
03:22 They fit in the palm of your hand.
03:25 Sea pigs tend to be about 4 to 6 inches long.
03:28 Scientists have known about sea pigs for more than 100 years.
03:32 They were first described by a Swedish zoologist in 1882.
03:37 Thiel described about 65 new species discovered by the British research ship HMS Challenger
03:44 during her round-the-world expedition of 1872-1876.
03:51 Sea pigs have 5 to 7 pairs of enlarged tube feet.
03:55 These walking legs are hydraulically operated appendages that can be inflated and deflated
04:02 to move around.
04:04 Sea pig parasites include small snails and cartesians that bore holes in their hosts'
04:10 bodies and feed on them internally.
04:16 5.
04:19 The Babirusa Babirusas are native to the Indonesian islands.
04:24 This animal has pig-like appearance with deer-like legs.
04:28 That's why it is named the Babirusa, meaning "piggy deer".
04:32 They are not ordinary pigs we see commonly.
04:35 Males have brittle curved tusks which are used to destroy enemies and for fighting with
04:41 other pigs over females.
04:44 The tusks can reach lengths of 17 inches and can actually grow back into the skull.
04:51 Babirusas eat almost everything.
04:53 They are omnivorous, with a diet that includes leaves, fruits, insects, fish and even small
05:00 babirusas.
05:01 In the wild, babirusas might live 10 years, but several babirusas in zoos have made it
05:08 past 20 years old.
05:14 6.
05:16 Star-Nosed Mole These strange-looking animals grow to about
05:20 20 cm long.
05:21 They are almost completely blind, so they use the 22 tentacles around their nose to
05:27 detect prey.
05:28 They have 25,000 senses in their tentacles, making them very sensitive.
05:34 Star-nosed moles are excellent swimmers and were the first mammals that are proven to
05:38 be able to smell underwater.
05:41 Their powerful front claws help them when swimming and digging.
05:45 They hunt small insects, fish, worms and other invertebrates that they find in the water.
05:51 The Guinness Book of World Records has stated that these species are in the list of one
05:56 of the fastest hunters.
05:58 It is said that these species hunt and have their victims so fast that it is almost impossible
06:04 for even humans to follow it.
06:08 Star-nosed moles are quite common and can be found in small colonies throughout southeastern
06:13 Canada and northeastern United States, where they prefer damp soil near water.
06:22 This is the third video of our series playlist "Animals which exist but are hard to believe".
06:27 If you have not seen the complete list of unbelievable strange animals, you can watch
06:32 this complete video and playlist.
06:34 Thanks for watching!
