00:03 Don't we all know exactly where we were
00:08 when we heard for the first time?
00:10 The information was that Diana had survived at that point.
00:14 It was just a devastating moment, and I think universal.
00:19 I thought how horrible and yet typical.
00:23 Here was a survivor.
00:24 Diana wasn't dead.
00:25 I said, oh, of course not.
00:27 It's not true.
00:27 You know, they're always putting up
00:30 stories about Princess Diana.
00:32 I called Kensington Palace, and it was 3 AM in the morning
00:35 there, but I knew somebody would answer.
00:37 And sure enough, somebody did answer,
00:39 and they told me that the princess was
00:40 doing very, very poorly.
00:42 I immediately called her on her mobile phone.
00:45 There was no answer.
00:46 And by morning, with more calls in the middle of the night,
00:49 we had heard the news and just stunned.
00:55 Can't believe it.
00:56 It was just like, you know, oh my god, no.
01:00 We turned on TV, and of course, it was all over the news.
01:04 It was just unbelievable.
01:07 I just couldn't believe what they were saying to me.
01:11 Not Diana.
01:12 She was just, you know, coming out of all of these problems,
01:15 becoming her own person.
01:17 This couldn't possibly be true.
