00:00 Free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick was recently involved in a workout of sorts with a group of NFL standouts that include
00:10 Dallas Cowboys wide receiver C.D. Lamb. Mike Fisher reporting from Oxnard.
00:15 C.D. Lamb is not in Beaverton, Oregon anymore. He'll be here as a part of training camp.
00:20 But he did spend time with Colin Kaepernick. Let's call it a scouting mission, kind of.
00:27 And C.D. comes away very impressed. Says the arm's still strong. The arm's intact.
00:32 I don't know where C.D. thought the arm was going, but it's still there.
00:36 Deep ball is very nice. And he said, "Man, he's still Kaep now. He's still got it."
00:40 In fairness to what really happened here, this looks very much like a promotional thing on behalf of not only Kaepernick and Nike.
00:52 A branding effort. That doesn't mean, of course, that his desire to come back to the NFL is anything less than sincere.
00:58 But it's a very polished video that was put out and C.D.
01:01 Lamb was featured in it. So were a bunch of other NFL guys.
01:06 Let's see. Jackson. Jackson from Seattle. Kendrick Bourne from New England.
01:14 So there was a collection of Nike guys. I didn't even have to look up whether or not they're Nike guys.
01:19 I just kind of assumed they are. And the feedback qualifies as a bunch of thumbs up for what Colin Kaepernick did in this workout.
01:29 He is now 35. He's played, after having played six years in the league, he's been away from the league for seven.
01:39 Of course, got in conflict with the league over his sociopolitical views, which the league has since backed down on.
01:47 You'll recall they had a workout last year in Las Vegas.
01:52 What I'm told by football people who were at that workout, it didn't go particularly well.
01:57 I think he had a workout in Atlanta before that, too.
01:59 But C.D. Lamb, among the players who came away impressed with what Colin Kaepernick can do.
02:05 And now we'll get C.D. Lamb to Oxnard and I bet you we'll start being very impressed with what he can do here in Oxnard with the Cowboys covering the NFL.
02:12 Fish out.
