SMU Football Head Coach Rhett Lashlee says he feels that his SMU team has the talent to compete for the American Athletic Conference Championship this upcoming season.

00:19 - We know there's 14 teams in this league.
00:21 It's gonna be really hard to be one.
00:23 We're excited that we feel like we have a team
00:25 that can compete for the championship,
00:28 but we know it's gonna take an uncommon effort,
00:30 uncommon focus, and that's what we're excited
00:32 about the opportunity to get to do.
00:34 - But he's going to have to knock off a few teams
00:36 before the conference even starts,
00:38 but he is confident in his players.
