00:00 There was over 100 people here, hundreds of people if you like, part of the CFMEU that
00:07 were here rallying after what happened yesterday on that Cross River Rail project where we
00:13 saw a worker fall anywhere between 6 to 10 metres and he is in hospital now, the 54 year
00:20 old in a critical condition.
00:23 But look, there was a number of safety issues that some of these workers raised.
00:28 Some of these workers were on that same project at Boggo Road train station where that's being
00:33 built.
00:34 They said they've seen incidents like objects falling from cranes and that sort of incident
00:42 happening more than once and workers just carried on after that.
00:48 Also near misses where trucks have almost hit workers as well and they've raised these
00:52 concerns they say and they're not happy with how it's been addressed so far.
00:59 We also learnt more about this 54 year old man who was injured in that accident yesterday.
01:04 So he is a scaffolder according to the CFMEU and they also say that he was working alongside
01:11 his son the day that this incident happened yesterday.
01:14 So you can imagine how he's feeling this morning and the family's feeling and all hoping that
01:19 he does recover but he did suffer significant injuries, internal injuries in that accident.
01:26 He hit a number of obstacles during that fall.
01:28 He landed on a concrete slab, had to be rescued by a crane and that crane brought those emergency
01:36 workers in and they got him out as quickly as possible.
01:38 So he is in the Princess Alexandra Hospital this morning.
01:42 So those workers, they're marching through Brisbane CBD as we speak this morning.
01:47 They're saying that they're not going to go back to work, they're not going to be back
01:49 on site until those safety issues are addressed.
