00:00 Australia opposed a sterner test to the Super Falcons than Canada did and that is without
00:05 a doubt. On this episode we'll preview the second game of Randy Wardrobe's team at
00:09 the FIFA Women's World Cup. My name is Ayomini Chutubu and this is The Nutmeg on Guardian
00:14 TV.
00:15 The Super Falcons showed some intensity in the draw against Canada and they'll need
00:23 to include some goals to get anything against Australia who are already at the top of the
00:28 group. They are the 10th ranked team in the world when it comes to women's football.
00:32 We'll definitely need more than the heroics of Chia Makanandu's saving Christian Sinclair's
00:37 sport kick against Canada. The good thing about it is it's a win for Nigeria who could
00:42 just about seal qualification while a draw steadies the ship until they face the Republic
00:47 of Ireland in their last group game.
00:49 Australia were not spectacular against Ireland, they just nicked a one-nil victory and that's
00:54 because they missed the services of Sam Kehr, the talk of the town in women's football
00:58 and they'll still be without their main player Sam Kehr in the game. If that is a
01:03 disadvantage you think probably weakens them, let's not forget they have a whole home
01:10 support right behind them and that is immense support. We have only ever played Australia
01:16 once and that was in the Women's World Cup in Canada in 2015 and that was a two-nil loss.
01:23 Nigeria considered defeating that and that's our only meeting but let's not forget that
01:27 a win for Australia would also be enough to help them advance into the round of 16. Of
01:32 course they got a one-nil win against Republic of Ireland in the fourth game and a second
01:35 win against Nigeria could just about push them into the round of 16. I'm particularly
01:40 excited though by the prospect of Rashida Adjibade returning into the team and against
01:46 them that could be the key to unlocking the goals that we need to help us get a win or
01:50 at least a point.
01:51 And talking about predictions, I still maintain the permutations from the last episode. We
01:56 need five points, we've got one already against Canada and probably we could get another
02:03 one against Australia, the two toughest teams in the group and maybe we'll go all out
02:07 and win against Republic of Ireland but then the focus has to be on Australia at this point
02:12 in time and we hope we can at least get a draw. Make no mistake about it, Australia
02:17 will pose a bigger, bigger test than Canada did and I wish the ladies all the luck they
02:22 can get because they are going to need all of it. We'll be here to preview the next
02:26 game and of course discuss our talking points from this game. Kick-off is Thursday 11am
02:32 Nigerian time and we wish them all of the best. My name is Ayomede Shotabua, thank you
02:37 for watching this episode and of course see you in the next episode. Bye.
