00:00 Ladies and gentlemen, to set the context for the evening and to tell us what Outlook Business
00:05 Women of Worth is all about, please help me welcome on stage with a warm round of applause
00:10 Editor Outlook Business, Ms. N. Mahalakshmi.
00:17 Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. What an absolute delight to host this evening in Calcutta.
00:33 It was two years ago that I came for only the second time to Calcutta to essentially
00:41 understand the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Calcutta. We had a property for women entrepreneurs
00:47 which we had developed about four years ago and we used to do about 15 women entrepreneurial
00:54 stories in a special edition and host them in an award function in Bombay. And we wanted
00:59 to expand that and, you know, bring in more and more women entrepreneur stories to mainstream
01:06 media and with that intention two years ago I came here and met a whole bunch of entrepreneurs,
01:13 inheritors and found remarkable set of stories. And that gave me also the insight that we
01:21 couldn't do justice to women entrepreneurs by just putting in 15-20 stories in a special
01:28 edition every year. There were far many more beautiful stories to be told. So last year
01:34 we decided that we should create a full-fledged portal to tell these stories. So here we are
01:42 with wow.outlookbusiness.com which profiles stories of remarkable women entrepreneurs.
01:49 And here we are, this year we are doing a four-city tour and showcasing whole bunch
01:54 of women entrepreneurs across cities. And we are super excited to be in Calcutta. Thank
02:00 you very much for this enormous response. And to the women entrepreneurs of Calcutta,
02:06 kudos, congratulations. Look forward to showcasing lot more inspiring stories and engaging a
02:12 lot more. And I can't speak Bengali but I can sing. So just a couple of lines in Bengali,
02:20 something I learnt in my college days. But I just remember it was apt even for somebody
02:28 who is starting out as an entrepreneur because it's pretty much like when you pass out of
02:32 college. It's entrepreneurial journey is full of hope, dreams, you're starry-eyed, you want
02:38 to change the world, you want to change your own life. So here it is.
