00:00 A lot of the bigger tourist attractions here in the ACT
00:03 seem to be governmentally supported.
00:08 So there's some of the bigger attractions
00:10 in the Parliamentary Triangle, and that's great.
00:13 And then there's an awful lot of money
00:15 being put into those attractions, which is also great.
00:20 But what we find is we feel being a small business
00:23 and a not-for-profit business at that,
00:25 as we are here at the Reptile Zoo,
00:26 we feel a little bit isolated from that funding
00:29 and the support that's given to those bigger organisations.
00:32 So I think some of the smaller guys like us,
00:34 and there are four major attractions out here
00:37 at Gold Creek Village, and we are four very unique
00:41 and very successful attractions.
00:43 We'd like to see a bit more cooperation and support
00:46 from the bigger governmentally funded tourist attractions.

00:50 - In terms of growing the industry,
00:51 having a lot more communication between industry leaders
00:55 like restaurants like ourselves
00:57 that operate at almost like a higher level
01:01 as well as people in each kind of sector.
01:05 I think our industry is really broad
01:07 and trying to do a one-size-fits-all
01:10 is not really gonna cut it.
01:12 So I think just having a bit more communication
01:14 with restaurants and cafes and things
01:17 about what that actually means and how we can approach it.
01:21 There's also been some previous things like wage subsidies
01:24 and things like that from the government
01:26 that have really helped us both upskill
01:29 and provide security for our staff.
01:32 So having another thing like that over the next coming years
01:36 will be really helpful to us as well.
