Marcos refuses to discuss Sabah   President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. weighs in on the Philippines’ wrangling with Malaysia over Sabah. 00:00 Well, it's always mentioned. You can't avoid it. We have an outstanding claim that we're not taking it back.

00:09 It's clear to all the parties involved that we can't decide now. If we're going to talk, we'll have to do something much, much larger and much more involved than just a quick discussion, a 5, 10, 15-minute discussion with the leaders.

00:33 So, the consensus is that we just talk about everything else. We talked about trade, we talked about the help that Malaysia has been providing, the development of the barn.

00:56 We talked about the, again, the people-to-people side of our relationship. But always, I mean, it is something that neither the Philippines or the Malaysia is withdrawing.

01:12 But we still find a modus vivendi so that we can work with each other without coming into conflict over just one single issue.

01:22 It is as usual when it comes to these diplomatic issues. It is up to us to define what our relationship is. And I think we have agreed that there's a tacit agreement at the very least.

01:43 That we talk about all of the things that are solvable, all the issues that we can actually do. So, when the time comes, perhaps we will come back to the issue. I'm sure it will come up again.
