00:00 Guess who's back? Botched is back.
00:03 Let's go to work.
00:04 - Another season of Botched,
00:06 August 3rd, cannot come soon enough.
00:08 Can you tease the most shocking surgery
00:11 that we're going to be seeing this season?
00:12 Because I remember the first season and I'm like,
00:14 is this even possible?
00:15 People walk around like this?
00:17 And then it just gets crazier and wilder
00:19 and more extreme every season.
00:21 - Can I brag about you personally?
00:22 - Oh yeah.
00:23 - So normally all the seasons I do the most difficult,
00:27 most shocking surgery, 'cause I'm the best there is.
00:29 No, I'm kidding.
00:30 This season, Paul takes on a case of a woman
00:34 who had a tumor on her face that started to rapidly grow.
00:39 She was from another country.
00:41 She went to their university to have this removed.
00:44 They opened her up.
00:45 It bled so much, they just did what I call peek and treat.
00:49 They just closed her up and said, forget it.
00:52 And for the next seven years, it just grew.
00:54 And it started up in her upper cheek and below her jawline.
00:59 Paul took her to the operating room with a team, okay?
01:03 And did some genius type work, life changing,
01:08 maybe the case of the entire series.
01:12 (upbeat music)
01:13 - Woo!
01:14 - Yay, yay, yay!
01:15 - I might as well kinda toot my own horn.
01:17 - Woo hoo!
01:18 - Why do you think Ozipic has become the talking point
01:21 in Hollywood and this whole weight loss thing?
01:23 - Because it's a miracle breakthrough for obesity.
01:27 And obesity not only is the number one risk factor
01:30 for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer,
01:33 it also is a weight loss breakthrough
01:37 that you can use if you're five pounds overweight
01:40 or 50 pounds overweight.
01:41 And people have to stop making people feel bad
01:43 about being on these drugs.
01:44 Stop those Ozipic shamings.
01:46 It's not nice.
01:47 It's dangerous 'cause people aren't talking
01:49 about the side effects.
01:50 So we're not really learning about how to use them
01:52 in people who aren't that overweight.
01:54 - Are there any other jarring side effects
01:56 that we'll see down the road for people who are doing this?
02:00 - Pancreatitis.
02:01 If you go on these Ozipic type drugs
02:03 and you drink too much,
02:05 particularly as the dose goes up every four weeks,
02:07 people who have an innocent amount of alcohol,
02:11 maybe that two drinks that you would have
02:12 on a Saturday night, are putting people in the hospital.
02:15 This is happening all the time.
02:17 We're not talking about it.
02:18 We're just learning about it.
02:19 And the problem with Ozipic shaming
02:21 is people won't admit to this,
02:22 so they're not able to teach other people
02:25 their experience with it.
02:27 - Is there such thing as a safe weight loss drug?
02:30 Is it even possible for people
02:31 to safely take these weight loss drugs?
02:33 - Listen, I mean, when it comes to weight loss drugs,
02:35 there's always gonna be a risk with any drug you take,
02:38 as long as you do it appropriately
02:40 and you're monitored by a physician
02:42 that knows how to take care of those things and monitor.
02:45 But again, it's the patients that are taking these drugs
02:48 that don't wanna tell anyone
02:49 and they're getting them some other way
02:50 and they're just using it without the proper supervision.
02:54 At the end of the day,
02:55 we don't know exactly the answer to that question.
02:57 I think these drugs are safe if used carefully, properly,
03:02 and you manage your eating very, very specifically.
03:07 They're getting better and better.
03:08 There's a new one about to come out
03:10 that's even better and faster.
03:12 Three hormones instead of two.
03:14 It's here to stay.
03:15 This is the new Botox
03:16 and it's for obesity instead of wrinkles.
03:19 - Dr. DeBrow, you and your wife, Heather,
03:21 you've been married for 27 years now, is that right?
03:24 - That's right.
03:25 - Unheard of in Hollywood,
03:27 especially recently with so many splits and separations.
03:29 I'm sure you're seeing that on the headlines.
03:31 What's been the key to the success
03:34 with a relationship like this?
03:36 - Well, I think Heather might give
03:37 a slightly different answer,
03:38 but in my view, the key is learning
03:41 how to fix your disagreements.
03:43 In other words, learn how to fight well, okay?
03:46 And learn when to do it and when not to do it.
03:48 Friday night at 11 p.m.
03:51 when you have some alcohol on board is never the time
03:55 to argue, ever, ever, ever.
03:57 Save it for Saturday morning.
04:00 The other piece of advice is,
04:02 most of the stuff you're arguing about is insignificant.
04:05 Let the small stuff go.
04:07 Just let it go.
04:08 Find your inner dolphin and let it roll off your back.
04:11 - I like that.
04:12 We also wanna say congratulations on just having a home
04:16 where your children are comfortable enough
04:18 to speak with you about anything.
04:19 I know your youngest child also came out
04:21 as transgender.
04:22 How have you and Heather supported them?
04:24 - Well, you've gotta form a kind of home environment
04:29 that's accepting and loving and supportive.
04:31 Don't judge.
04:32 Listen, don't talk, okay?
04:34 Many times.
04:35 But you gotta be very careful
04:37 because there's a lot of hate out there.
04:39 So you have to be very careful to enwrap them
04:42 and envelop them in love and support.
04:44 We hope that the message that we put out with our family
04:49 helps those who are struggling
04:50 and families that aren't so supportive
04:52 and particularly in parts of the country
04:54 where there's a lot of sort of pushback
04:57 on living a person's real life.
05:01 - They feel like they've been received well by the public?
05:04 - They are doing very, very well.
05:06 You know, the kids look at social media differently
05:09 than we do, fortunately.
05:10 So the stuff that at our stage that we all have access to,
05:14 they're not seeing a lot of it, fortunately.
05:17 'Cause I think it would be much more difficult
05:19 if they could see it.
05:20 They could see it,
05:21 but they don't follow the stuff that we follow.
05:23 So the hate that's out there
05:25 that hopefully will ultimately evolve and go away
05:29 is not really in their world, which is a good thing.
05:32 - Dr. Nassif, I wanna ask you this.
05:33 You also have a beautiful family as well.
05:36 And judging by the engagement on Instagram,
05:39 I mean, people really can't get enough of you
05:41 and your wife, Brittany.
05:42 She's absolutely gorgeous.
05:44 Has she ever been approached or, I don't know,
05:47 thought about being on one of the "Real Housewives"
05:49 franchises?
05:50 (laughs)
05:51 - We've never been approached.
05:52 As a matter of fact, you know, our executive producer,
05:55 Alex, is the one who runs a couple of them, obviously.
05:59 And he's never mentioned it to me.
06:00 I think we're too boring.
06:02 - Oh.
06:03 - Because we're not gonna, yeah,
06:03 we're not gonna go in and argue and, you know,
06:05 we'll do all that and start up, you know,
06:07 and really get into it.
06:08 I gotta tell you though, Brittany can be very saucy though.
06:12 So if you mess with her, she sure can, I can tell you that.
06:16 And I told her, I go, "Listen, I don't wanna do that.
06:18 "I don't think I'd ever do something like that again,
06:21 "especially if you look at my background with this."
06:23 Adrienne and I, I think being on a reality show,
06:27 it did speed up our demise and divorce.
06:29 I think it was gonna happen anyway, eventually.
06:32 I mean, now we're doing very well together, Adrienne and I.
06:35 We're co-parenting and I've talked to her at least
06:38 probably five, six times a week.
06:40 I even talked to her before coming here.
06:42 So, which is a good thing, by the way, for our kids.
06:46 So I don't see that happening now.
06:49 She's been on like this season, you know,
06:51 she'll come on "A Botch," bring the baby, do something fun.
06:54 But that's about it, I think.
06:57 - I think what happened was when Adrienne saw Paul on TV
07:01 take his shirt off and jump in the pool
07:03 with that belly and the back hair,
07:04 relationship was over right then.
07:06 (upbeat music)
07:08 (beeping)
07:11 (upbeat music)
07:13 (upbeat music)
