A shocking incident occurred in West Bengal. A couple from West Bengal sold their eight-month-old-son to buy an IPhone 14 for making reels on Instagram. The couple after selling the infant, went to extreme lengths of creating instagram reels by travelling across the state.
According to the media reports the couple named Jaydev and Sathi Ghosh hail from North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
Their crime came to light after the neighbours noticed that even the eight-month-old boy went missing but still the parents look happy and carefree. Their suspicions were raised on the couple when they noticed the latest Iphone 14 which cost no less than a lakh, because the couple was known for having financial difficulties in the past.
The concerned neighbour informed about the case to the local councillor, who in turn asked the police to investigate the case.
Later during the investigation by police, the mother, Sathi Gosh made a heartbreaking confession that she and her husband made the painful decision to trade their baby for an IPhone 14. However, the father of the infant is still not found. Authorities are investigating and searching for him.
According to reports, the couple had also tried selling their 7-year-old daughter earlier.
Also, the police have booked the women who bought the eight-month-old boy with human-trafficking related charges.
