00:08 against the big three US automakers.
00:10 In a Facebook address to members,
00:12 UAW President Sean Fain said,
00:15 "Nearly 150,000 members will strike
00:19 if Ford, Stellantis and General Motors
00:22 do not meet their demands."
00:24 Stellantis is the auto company
00:26 encompassing Fiat, Peugeot and Chrysler.
00:30 Fain said in a statement,
00:31 "The big three is our strike target
00:34 and whether or not there is a strike
00:36 is up to Ford, General Motors and Stellantis
00:39 because they know what our priorities are.
00:41 We've been clear."
00:43 The contracts between the UAW and the big three
00:46 expire on September 14th.
00:48 The last auto workers strike was in 2019.
00:52 That's when 48,000 UAW members at General Motors
00:56 walked off the job for six weeks.
