00:00 Hello and my name is Jason Wilshire Mills and I'm the artist who created the Amazonian
00:08 Cayman God. Now there's a story behind this sculpture that goes all the way back to my
00:15 time as a young lad in Osset, Gawthorpe and on Eastmob and there's a love story there.
00:24 It's a sculpture about disability activism because I'm an artist who uses a wheelchair
00:30 and I just want to say thank you to the people of Wakefield for embracing this sculpture
00:37 and for Wakefield itself for saying and being the first city in the country to have a piece
00:44 of work by a disabled artist about disability on permanent display in the city centre which
00:52 is absolutely fantastic. The stories are there to be seen, there's things about mum and dad
00:59 falling in love who were my carers as a young lad, there's stuff about Charles Waterton,
01:06 there's things about Wakefield itself, characters that I used to know doing the Westgate run.
01:14 There's something for everybody in there, it's about love, it's about hope, it's about
01:20 disability, it's about Charles Waterton, it's about Wakefield and it's about us, it's about
01:26 us and caring about each other which is good. So thank you Wakefield.
