00:00 What is going on there, citizens of the Reject Nation?
00:02 Greg and John here today to watch the final episode
00:05 of Secret Invasion today.
00:07 And before you guys ask where Koi is,
00:09 we have no idea where he's at.
00:11 Based off of knowing Koi, he is more than likely
00:15 asleep right now.
00:16 In traditional Koi fashion, he is not fulfilling
00:19 his contractual obligation and is missing the final episode
00:22 of the Disney+ Marvel series.
00:24 That's just the way tradition.
00:26 Koi operates just like at our Comic-Con panel.
00:28 He was nowhere to be seen for the first half
00:30 of that entire time.
00:31 He got there eventually.
00:33 Who knows, maybe he'll show up for the last five minutes.
00:35 He'll actually miss Marvel.
00:36 You missed the final episode.
00:37 No, it was the one where he filled in.
00:39 And then he was here for it.
00:40 So I'm the only reliable one around here.
00:43 Yes, truly.
00:45 Guys, I did want to say a thank you to everyone who did
00:48 attend our Comic-Con panel.
00:50 Some of the compliments that we got, even from the tech team
00:52 there, where they came out to us while the other panel was
00:56 going on.
00:56 It was so unbelievably kind what everyone was saying to us.
00:59 And it was such a blast with that in mind, too.
01:02 You guys might have seen I was drinking G Fuel when I was
01:04 there, and there's a reason why.
01:05 G Fuel is arguably the best brand that Real Rejects has
01:10 ever partnered with.
01:11 Yeah, guys, there's a special code in the description box
01:13 to get yourself a discount on select tubs there.
01:16 I think every single flavor we've ever had
01:19 has been delicious, and I rely on them.
01:22 They got me through Comic-Con.
01:23 They get me through most days of the week.
01:24 I sincerely mean that.
01:25 So thank you to G Fuel for sponsoring this video.
01:28 And I shout you guys out even when you're not
01:29 sponsored for a reason, because I really do love them.
01:32 And it's a great way to support the channel
01:33 is by getting yourself some G Fuel.
01:34 With that in mind, leave a like on this video.
01:36 Also, be sure to check us out on Patreon as well,
01:39 where you'll catch the full interaction
01:40 and watch along for this.
01:42 Thank you to all who have joined us.
01:43 Let's get to it.
01:44 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:47 All right, let's do this.
01:48 Let's do this 20-minute episode finale,
01:52 where nothing will be rushed.
01:55 Purple scrawl blood on the wall.
01:57 Koi?
02:00 Is it the first time you called this number in years?
02:03 I have dialed this number a million times.
02:05 Bitch!
02:08 Know if you'll be coming back?
02:11 All right, I'll let you go now.
02:13 Oh.
02:13 You don't have to if you don't want to, darling.
02:15 Go to her.
02:17 Take care of yourself.
02:18 Priscilla will return.
02:24 [LAUGHTER]
02:26 I'll get the romance I keep begging for.
02:27 [YELLING IN RUSSIAN]
02:32 Whoa.
02:33 [YELLING IN RUSSIAN]
02:36 [GUNFIRE]
02:38 Ooh, not bad.
02:40 Actually, a cool shot.
02:41 It's a really cool shot.
02:42 They couldn't tell that from the distance.
02:46 Ooh.
02:48 I know, right?
02:51 Yeesh.
02:52 Damn, Fury, how'd you set that shit up?
02:54 How long was that car going for?
02:56 What happened on that motorway was an all-out assault
02:58 on our republic, orchestrated by the Skrulls and the Russians
03:02 who were giving them safe haven.
03:03 Skrushins.
03:04 Negative.
03:05 I suggest you move on to doing what it is you
03:07 were summoned here to do.
03:08 Present the President of the United States
03:10 with his options to Russia.
03:12 You know, Rhodey, you've had a lot more propaganda
03:16 in your language lately.
03:18 Your rhetoric is really through the roof.
03:21 What are we looking at here, Colonel Rhodes?
03:22 I love that Dermot Moroney showed up to have, like,
03:24 five lines in his whole show.
03:26 Yeah.
03:27 Now, sir, if I may, I've taken the liberty
03:29 to prepare a rough copy of your remarks to the nation.
03:33 Carpet bomb.
03:34 They need your leadership.
03:35 They need to understand who's responsible for this.
03:38 And it's the Russians, 100%.
03:40 It's the Russians.
03:41 It's the Russians.
03:41 It's the Russians.
03:42 Russians, Russians, Russians, Russians, Russians, Russians.
03:43 It's always the Russians.
03:44 It's always the Russians.
03:46 And a little bit of the Skrulls.
03:48 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:51 So you think this is Gaia?
03:54 I think this is Gaia.
03:55 Yeah, it's got to be Gaia.
03:56 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:59 [COUGHING]
04:03 Radiation poisoning.
04:05 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:08 God, Gaia's really in character.
04:13 [LAUGHS]
04:14 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:17 This episode's bringing back a little more
04:21 of that cinematography I was admiring in the beginning.
04:23 Start strong and strong, baby.
04:25 You have to get him out of there.
04:26 Fury's headed straight for you.
04:28 Smart.
04:29 He wants Ritson stopped before the bomb is launched.
04:31 Move the president now.
04:32 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:34 Oh, maybe she's Gaia.
04:37 They're all Gaia.
04:38 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:40 [EXPLOSION]
04:42 [GASPS]
04:45 What a badass entrance.
04:46 [LAUGHS]
04:48 [COUGHING]
04:50 Where is everybody?
04:52 Locked away.
04:54 Looks like it's just you and me, Fury.
04:57 I need a lozenge.
04:59 No more protection for you.
05:01 How about a drink instead?
05:02 I'll do the trick.
05:04 Yeah.
05:06 I put a lot of sugar in it for you.
05:08 [LAUGHS]
05:10 Sweep every floor.
05:11 Lock down the elevator.
05:12 National security for answers.
05:15 Whoa.
05:16 [GRUNTS]
05:19 [LAUGHS]
05:20 It was Ant-Man.
05:21 Using my skin like a costume.
05:24 A costume, Fury.
05:25 Do you not recognize this skin?
05:27 This face.
05:30 This was the first human I killed.
05:32 An Abercrombie model?
05:33 [LAUGHS]
05:34 I killed him because you told me to.
05:37 Oh, wow.
05:38 Oh, it just doesn't stop.
05:40 Everything's your fault.
05:41 I killed him, and I killed so many more.
05:44 And everyone I killed took a little piece out of my heart.
05:47 Blames him for everything.
05:49 I'm supposed to be like Talos and put my trust in you.
05:52 You pimped us, Fury.
05:54 Ooh.
05:54 And when you were done with us, you threw us away.
05:56 So first, I'm going to kill you.
05:59 No, no.
06:00 He's in the Marvels.
06:01 [LAUGHS]
06:02 Impossible.
06:03 So I am absolutely clear about this, Fury.
06:06 You look at me.
06:07 Look at me.
06:09 Look at me.
06:10 And the massacres, and the wildfires,
06:12 and the imminent removal of humans from their habitat,
06:15 that is all you.
06:18 Hoo-hoo.
06:19 That is some good acting.
06:20 They were condemned to die the day I realized
06:22 you weren't a man of your word.
06:25 It's OK for Skrulls to go to therapy.
06:27 [LAUGHS]
06:29 BetterSkrulls.com.
06:30 You're right.
06:30 I failed you.
06:33 I failed you.
06:34 I'm sorry.
06:36 I knew the only way for me to keep my end of the bargain
06:39 was to build you a home here.
06:43 Why didn't you do it?
06:44 Oh.
06:44 It's easier to save the lives of 8 billion people--
06:49 Weird audio.
06:49 --than it is to change their hearts and minds.
06:52 Sure.
06:53 The last thing I felt before I flaked off--
06:59 Flaked off.
07:01 Relief.
07:02 Sure.
07:03 Relief that I didn't have to fight anymore.
07:06 That I finally had a way out.
07:08 I believe you actually said, mother fucker.
07:11 I felt responsible for you.
07:15 Doctrinated you.
07:16 I should have taught you--
07:17 Oh.
07:18 --you never give up the fight.
07:21 Who's doing this killing?
07:22 I have decided to give you what you want.
07:29 Carol Danvers DNA.
07:31 No way.
07:32 Whoa.
07:33 Take your powers, go to some other planet,
07:36 wipe out some other species.
07:39 I don't give a damn.
07:40 Really?
07:41 Uh.
07:41 Call off the strike and save your people.
07:45 Oh.
07:47 I think the radiation's eating your brains, mate.
07:50 [COUGHING]
07:53 What's the ultimate plan here, Fury?
07:54 [COUGHING]
07:58 Coughing is an act.
07:59 [BELL RINGING]
08:02 You have a war machine suit.
08:04 And you're protecting the president who was just
08:06 attacked by what you tell people are Russian and Skrull forces.
08:11 Put it in the crisper.
08:17 Whoa.
08:17 Damn, like everyone's name is here.
08:19 The Iraq star's going to have a great time.
08:21 Yeah.
08:22 The entire end game cast.
08:23 No checking behind the doors.
08:25 You really are a Skrull.
08:27 I don't know what it is you think you're doing, but if--
08:28 No buts.
08:29 Just yours, back into the hallway.
08:31 Go on.
08:32 Has she been doing all this herself?
08:34 That's how it appears right now.
08:35 But I mean, she's like invisible.
08:38 Maybe she got powers we don't know about.
08:39 [MUSIC PLAYING]
08:43 Whoa.
08:46 Fury's going to get powers too.
08:47 Yeah, what are you doing?
08:48 [MUSIC PLAYING]
08:55 Makes you buffer.
08:56 Goodness.
08:57 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:01 It does look like Abomination.
09:02 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:04 She hoaxes a toad.
09:05 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:09 Yeah.
09:10 What is happening?
09:11 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:15 What powers did you get?
09:17 Hulk.
09:18 Hulk Fury.
09:19 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:23 Cue that AI music.
09:24 Yeah.
09:24 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:27 Oh, there you go.
09:28 It was a Gaia.
09:30 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:31 Well done, girl.
09:32 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:36 Oh, Nick Fury really was Gaia.
09:38 Should have put that together right
09:39 when we realized that was Gaia.
09:40 You killed my mother, my father.
09:44 Prepare to die.
09:45 I am the Mandarin.
09:46 [LAUGHTER]
09:49 [MUSIC PLAYING]
09:49 You're flailing.
09:51 You're weak.
09:53 Wow.
09:54 Drax arm.
09:55 Yeah.
09:58 I think he did sprout an Abomination arm.
10:02 Oh my goodness.
10:03 Phasing.
10:04 Like ghost.
10:06 Korg.
10:07 Korg.
10:07 Yeah, I was going to say Korg group.
10:09 [MUSIC PLAYING]
10:11 Wow.
10:12 Chitauri.
10:13 [MUSIC PLAYING]
10:19 Or not Chitauri.
10:20 Frost giant, maybe?
10:21 I think it's Frost giant.
10:24 He is a scroll.
10:27 Shoot him in the hand.
10:28 Scroll rebels have kidnapped dozens of world officials,
10:32 along with Colonel Rhodes.
10:34 You're positive the president isn't a scroll?
10:36 [MUSIC PLAYING]
10:38 Oh.
10:39 Happening, ma.
10:40 [LAUGHTER]
10:44 Oh, this is like more Secret Invasion because--
10:46 [GROANING]
10:48 --a lot of powers are adapting.
10:49 Yeah.
10:50 And they're doing them like quadrants of the body.
10:52 Just stay the course, all right?
10:54 And all our enemies will be gone.
10:56 Yeah.
10:58 Yeah, I got it.
10:59 It's a great argument there, Rhodey.
11:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:06 Captain Marvel.
11:06 Yeah.
11:07 Woo.
11:08 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:10 Zayum.
11:11 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:16 Power battle.
11:17 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:24 Hi, Mantis.
11:25 Oh.
11:27 Nice.
11:27 [LAUGHTER]
11:29 Sleep.
11:31 Did he have a Thanos arm?
11:32 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:34 Like a big purple arm.
11:36 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:38 Holy shit.
11:39 That was a pretty cool job.
11:40 [LAUGHTER]
11:41 I'm all of a sudden excited for Gaia.
11:43 [LAUGHTER]
11:43 I hope she doesn't die now.
11:44 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:51 [LAUGHTER]
11:53 Let's go.
11:55 [LAUGHTER]
11:56 Yes.
11:57 [MUSIC PLAYING]
11:59 Oh.
12:00 You're just like your father.
12:03 Just like them.
12:04 That's a good-- yeah.
12:07 Zayum.
12:08 Oh my god.
12:09 [MUSIC PLAYING]
12:12 And just like that, he's dead.
12:13 Yep.
12:14 [LAUGHTER]
12:15 So long, compelling villain.
12:17 Didn't really make much of a moment out of that, but OK.
12:20 Nope.
12:21 So he's dead.
12:21 [LAUGHTER]
12:23 [GUNSHOT]
12:24 Yo.
12:25 Whoa.
12:27 Right in the forehead.
12:28 [MUSIC PLAYING]
12:32 Oh, it's fine.
12:33 Jesus.
12:33 Somebody give me the phone.
12:37 There's parts of that fight that I thought were really cool.
12:39 It is also what the She-Hulk finale was making fun of.
12:43 It is.
12:44 I wonder if he'll regenerate or something.
12:46 Just maybe flip that on its ear a little bit.
12:51 The real Rhodey.
12:52 Hey, Rhodey.
12:53 The real Rhodey.
12:54 [LAUGHTER]
12:56 Get this man a suit.
12:58 The real Martin Freeman.
13:01 Just the actor made the plane himself.
13:04 I'm an agent?
13:05 What?
13:08 You've been held hostage for a long time.
13:11 For how long exactly?
13:12 I totally forgot about-- oh, yeah, they might be down there.
13:15 Yeah.
13:15 Right.
13:17 The terrorists responsible were a shape-shifting, alien-born
13:20 species known as Skrulls.
13:22 But they're not all bad.
13:24 I'm presenting to Congress for immediate emergency
13:26 authorization a bill that designates
13:27 all off-world-born species enemy combatants.
13:31 Oh, boy.
13:32 And we will kill every last one of you.
13:34 That is not what Nick Lisfury was hoping for.
13:36 He has returned to form without making a moment out of it.
13:40 He just walked into frame.
13:42 Yeah.
13:43 He's back.
13:44 Cue the music.
13:45 [LAUGHTER]
13:47 The trailer had more of a moment out of it than this show did.
13:51 Don't worry.
13:51 You still got like five minutes left, G.
13:54 Jake is still per punctuation on this.
13:56 Walking in frame.
13:58 I know who I am when you're not here.
14:01 It's when you come back that I start to wonder,
14:06 did you fall in love with me?
14:08 Yes.
14:09 Or the face that puts you at ease.
14:11 The fetishes when he fell in love.
14:14 Love you, Priscilla.
14:17 I love your ass.
14:21 You can find a way to forgive me.
14:24 You know where to find me.
14:25 I'm sorry.
14:30 I thought the direction of that scene was done so flat.
14:32 It's so weird.
14:36 We meet at last.
14:38 Oh, complimentary colors.
14:40 Opposition.
14:41 You'll need resources to fight this war
14:43 that Ritson has launched on your people,
14:44 and I can give them to you.
14:45 The British versus Americans.
14:48 Well, let's be sure not to repeat
14:49 the mistakes of Talos and Fury and leave love
14:51 and friendship out of this.
14:54 I will use you, and you will use me,
14:56 and together we'll make this planet safe for both our people.
14:59 Fifty Shades of Gaia.
15:01 Yeah.
15:02 Dude, Gaia and Sonya will return.
15:05 What the hell is all this?
15:07 This is how the enemy got so good.
15:10 What are they going to do?
15:13 You took a bad situation and made it worse.
15:16 Oh, no.
15:18 One-term president stuff.
15:19 That's real.
15:20 Harrison Ford has replaced the act.
15:23 Oh, my God.
15:25 Damn.
15:27 Oh, geez.
15:29 Not a second of that shit.
15:32 Wow.
15:32 Now you got dumb ass vigilantes killing innocent humans too.
15:36 Oh, this is bleak.
15:38 When they have to kill themselves.
15:41 Oh, boy.
15:44 We needed more of her.
15:45 She's awesome.
15:46 If you truly care about the Skrulls,
15:49 get them off my planet.
15:53 Your planet.
15:54 How long do you think we're going to forget
16:00 about this Skrull plot point?
16:01 Until phase six or so.
16:04 Hold a minute.
16:05 Hard it is to hold this thing still.
16:11 Is she going to go with him?
16:13 Yes, do it.
16:14 Go to him.
16:15 [MUSIC PLAYING]
16:18 Whoa, this is so like ET, close encounter shit right now.
16:23 Romantic encounters of the third kind.
16:25 Priscilla.
16:27 Varah.
16:29 Now that humans know we're among them,
16:30 I'd like to use my birth name.
16:32 Varah.
16:34 Good news from Saber.
16:36 The Kree said they're open to peace talks with the Skrulls.
16:40 Are they setting up marbles?
16:43 Which friend reached out to you?
16:45 Kree said they're open to peace talks.
16:47 What do Skrulls call good luck?
16:50 Bad luck.
16:51 Stop it.
16:52 It's a good thing.
16:54 I don't know, man.
16:55 My hell.
16:56 Hell with this peace summit.
16:59 This Kree summit.
17:00 I'm no good with people.
17:01 You are.
17:02 You got your own way.
17:03 Oh, cool.
17:04 I'm sick of it.
17:05 I guess the Skrull thing is going to actually
17:06 factor into the marbles.
17:07 Could do.
17:08 Please, come with me.
17:10 Come with me now.
17:15 I'll help you get started.
17:19 But then I've got to get back.
17:21 All my work is here, darling.
17:24 He arrived alone and now he's leaving with someone.
17:27 Yeah, full character arc.
17:29 I just wanted to tell you that.
17:39 That I love you.
17:43 As I am.
17:44 Only as you are.
17:45 You too.
17:46 She's the best character of the year.
17:55 Absolutely.
17:56 100%.
17:57 She's a heart of gold.
17:58 Lay one on her.
17:59 Yeah, lay one on her.
18:02 Yeah.
18:04 Look how far we've come.
18:09 Oh, this is like cover art.
18:12 I like it.
18:13 I like the way this looks.
18:15 Actual romantic moment.
18:18 Now let's get the hell out of here.
18:26 There they go.
18:29 There they go.
18:32 Oh, what a great last shot.
18:36 Two become one.
18:42 The show's over.
18:47 And I guess Agent Maria Hill just is dead.
18:50 Yeah, that was the first episode that said it didn't have her as a guest star.
18:54 Moment of truth.
18:59 Moment.
19:00 Okay.
19:01 Drum roll.
19:02 Koi was asleep.
19:03 You got something back.
19:04 What did he say?
19:05 Damn it, man.
19:06 Missed so much.
19:07 Could have pointed out the one or two power sets that we did not properly call.
19:08 Well, I'm sure Screen Crush, Heavy Spoilers, and New Rockstars are going to have fun breaking
19:09 down and deciphering every single power that we saw in that fight scene.
19:10 I don't think that's not what we do.
19:11 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:12 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:13 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:14 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:15 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:16 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:17 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:18 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:19 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:45 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:52 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:53 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:54 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:55 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:56 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:57 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:58 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
19:59 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:00 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:01 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:02 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:03 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:04 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:05 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:06 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:07 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:33 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:38 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:39 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:40 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:41 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:42 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:43 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:44 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:45 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:46 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:47 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:48 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:49 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:50 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:51 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:52 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
20:53 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:16 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:21 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:22 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:23 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:24 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:25 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:26 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:27 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:28 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:29 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:30 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:31 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:32 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:33 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:34 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:35 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
21:36 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:04 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:06 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:07 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:08 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:09 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:10 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:11 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:12 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:13 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:14 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:15 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:16 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:17 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:18 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:19 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:20 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:21 We're going to be doing a lot of that.
22:45 >> I'm really conflicted about a lot of that.
22:55 The fight in and of itself.
22:58 I have a dichotomy about it.
23:03 >> Duplicitous.
23:04 >> I do.
23:05 There are so many things I like about it.
23:07 There are so many things contextually.
23:09 Wait a minute.
23:10 That's where I'm really coming from.
23:12 I really thought the entire time he was lamenting his sorrows,
23:16 his pains upon Nicholas Fury and all the blame for his actions
23:22 are just being projected onto him the entire time.
23:26 It was a really impactful moment.
23:29 The first 10 minutes or so of this episode,
23:32 I did think they were going back a little bit more to what I was
23:36 really loving about this show.
23:42 The things I still loved about the first three episodes.
23:45 And then of course the speech of Nick Fury is giving back.
23:50 But the fact that it's Gaius the one who's saying it,
23:53 I'm wondering what my takeaway is.
23:55 Is that supposed to be Nick Fury's arc?
23:58 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:00 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:06 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:09 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:11 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:13 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:15 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:17 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:19 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:21 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:23 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:25 Or is that Gaius' arc?
24:27 I'm like, was this a thing you discussed with Nick?
24:30 Between the last episode and this one,
24:32 Nick was like, here's everything you've got to say.
24:34 Because she's not like cerebrally hooked up to him,
24:37 you know, the way how these other Skrulls are.
24:40 So to me, I'm like, whose arc does this belong to right now?
24:44 Is this a Gaius' arc?
24:45 Is this a Nick arc?
24:46 Is this anyone's arc?
24:48 And that's why I feel conflicted about that moment.
24:51 Because it was really apparent that it was going to be Gaius.
24:55 Even the plan in and of itself, I thought was a little ridiculous.
24:59 Like, that could have gone so awry.
25:02 That could have gone--
25:03 I don't think that was thought out at all of what she did.
25:07 I'm going to give him this, and we're going to battle it out.
25:11 It counts so much on him being okay with Nick being in the accelerator machine,
25:16 the reactor, whatever it is as well.
25:18 And it's like, he could have easily been like, no.
25:22 Beyond that, it counts on the fact that she would--
25:26 they don't know what powers they're going to get.
25:29 And while I think there's something so cool contextually about everyone
25:36 having this amalgamation of a billion different power sets
25:41 that are all coming through, and it's cool to see on screen,
25:44 and for someone who read the Secret Invasion comic book,
25:47 I'm like, all right, now we're doing a little bit of Secret Invasion stuff.
25:50 We've had the whole paranoia thing down of who's a Skrull,
25:53 and now we're doing the element of watching a Skrull adapt powers.
26:00 Now they're just combining it all into two characters, right?
26:03 And visually, it wasn't bad to me.
26:07 I think it's Marvel, especially, it's an easy thing to knock at
26:12 when it comes to their visuals.
26:14 And I'm like, come on, we've seen worse.
26:17 We've seen worse.
26:18 And all things considered, I'm like, this is pretty cool.
26:21 There's something pretty cool about it.
26:24 But like I said, the idea behind the plan is a little too far-fetched to me,
26:29 and it seemed like an excuse to go down that Disney+ route
26:32 that She-Hulk directly makes fun of for what the shows do
26:39 to get to the point with big VFX fight scene things.
26:44 Especially with two characters who have all these personal charge stakes
26:48 pointed at each other to just culminate in a smash 'em up battle,
26:52 and then Gravik just gets murked on the spot.
26:55 Unceremonious death.
26:57 I mean, you get the speech, but that's pre-fight.
27:00 You need a moment after the fight to send him off at least.
27:03 His death was so lackluster, the way that went down.
27:08 Just an easy beam to the chest.
27:10 I thought it was such a weak death scene,
27:12 especially for such a great--
27:15 like a really well-written and well-performed villain.
27:18 I thought it was really-- I did not like that.
27:23 And what I don't like in situations like this especially
27:29 is them learning powers is them going,
27:33 "I'm looking at it. All right, I got it."
27:35 "I can just imagine what to do."
27:37 Yeah, and I generally don't like that at all.
27:41 I'm like, "No, there should be some figuring out of what to do."
27:45 Even Captain America, when he's first running in that movie,
27:48 he's like, "What, I'm running?"
27:50 "Way faster than I used to."
27:52 And they're each being overwhelmed with an influx
27:55 of every conceivable power from everybody who showed up
27:59 in the endgame battle pretty much.
28:02 The fact that they're immediately jumping to,
28:04 "I got four quadrants of my body, all different powers,
28:08 and I'm wielding them dual, and it's no problems whatsoever."
28:11 I think it's really cool. I thought there was cool parts to it.
28:15 Overall, the Gaia character, I think Emilia Clarke,
28:19 she really-- I think she showed up.
28:22 I think Emilia Clarke really did her best.
28:26 I don't feel like the show ultimately gave her much to do in the end.
28:30 I think that her character was underserved,
28:33 and it's Emilia Clarke, who I do think is a really great actress,
28:36 and I wish that they gave her more substance
28:39 or something more to chew on,
28:41 versus what we ultimately got here.
28:44 Giving her moments to Nick Fury.
28:46 Yeah, giving her big moments to Nick Fury,
28:49 and giving her stoicness.
28:51 It's an interesting thing they leave off on her with,
28:54 with her and Olivia Colman, and them teaming up,
28:57 and she's going to have the most ultimate Super Skrull,
29:01 the only truly--
29:03 She seems like one of the most powerful beings in the whole MCU.
29:06 You seem like you can beat everyone.
29:09 You've got Captain Marvel powers, Thanos powers,
29:12 and you've got all powers, and Ice Giant powers.
29:15 Frost Giant, Frost Beast, Frost Giant.
29:18 Frost Giants, and then Thanos, and Ghost,
29:21 and characters who haven't even been named in the universe yet.
29:25 Massively overpowered. Massively overpowered.
29:28 Yeah, from the good, from the hero and villain sides alike.
29:32 Yeah, it's a little ridiculous.
29:35 You thought people were like, "Captain Marvel overpowered,
29:38 what's she's got?"
29:40 That is so crazy to see what she can do.
29:44 Cool to behold. The imagery was very cool.
29:48 That was the most exciting--
29:50 I think her best character scene was in an episode or two ago
29:53 with Vara, when they are bonding.
29:55 That's easily the most vivid Gaia character moment,
29:58 but in this episode, I mean, you know.
30:01 I did like that they--
30:03 even though the Nick Fury thing is kind of confusing,
30:05 her getting to at least talk about the release of Death,
30:08 I thought was kind of like a moment where they sort of overlap,
30:11 and you're like, "Okay, I can see where you two have
30:13 sort of a similar experience here."
30:15 Perhaps, but yeah.
30:17 Ritson, I think that so much of the interesting,
30:21 nuanced commentary, where I was crediting this show
30:24 so much for not being a black and white conversation,
30:28 only everything devolves into a black and white conversation.
30:32 Yeah, it just becomes a dick.
30:34 Yeah, with Ritson especially, I'm like, "Yes, I think like--
30:38 is that the likely response if we're going off
30:42 of real world situations? Of course."
30:45 If we're thinking topical, of course.
30:48 Yeah, absolutely.
30:50 I do think the way the show handles this slingshot effect,
30:55 especially when Nick Fury was the one who saved his life,
30:59 and Olivia Colman does--
31:01 it's both Olivia Colman and Nick Fury there.
31:03 I'm like, "What was the conversation there?"
31:05 Because clearly they must have had a conversation
31:07 with the president that did not communicate to him.
31:11 Actually, there's some bad ones, and there's some good ones.
31:16 Just like there's some good humans and some bad humans.
31:19 Well, and Talos--
31:22 Talos saved his life.
31:24 It just seems like something that Nick would go out of his way
31:27 to communicate.
31:28 The fact that they don't even have this conversation
31:30 pop up in the show is really upsetting to me.
31:34 That was the whole freaking point of Talos saving him.
31:37 That was the entire point.
31:39 His death goes on just in that moment.
31:42 That's annoying to me.
31:44 There's a lot of problems I got with this.
31:46 I'm not going to lie. I got a lot of issues with this.
31:48 Yeah, and funny enough, I feel like we've all been sitting here
31:51 on a lot of these lately going,
31:53 "They would kill off some characters or make some stakes."
31:55 I feel like this series killed off a few characters,
31:59 and yet I feel like in some ways those characters
32:02 were less killed for a great impact or some kind of massive change
32:07 and more slighted.
32:09 This is the last we're going to see of Talos or Maria Hill.
32:14 I don't think it ultimately served the entirety
32:18 or some big purpose to do that,
32:21 especially if we're not going to come back around and go,
32:24 "Hey, this guy sacrificed himself for you.
32:26 Let's get some kind of memorial now that this whole fight is done
32:29 for Talos or something," because it's a character I feel like
32:31 people like and have been endeared to,
32:33 and it's one of the shining parts coming out of Captain Marvel
32:35 through this.
32:37 And even Maria Hill, I always got excited to see her.
32:41 She gets a prominent presence in the first episode,
32:44 and then once we move past that, it's just kind of done.
32:46 Well, they had her funeral, and he talks with her mom,
32:50 and you think there's going to be some type of--
32:52 Top of episode 2.
32:53 Yeah, you think there's going to be some personal conquest
32:56 that Nick Fury is setting out on.
32:58 It does not go that way.
33:00 It doesn't really come back around.
33:02 It's more like, "I don't want to be framed for this shit."
33:04 That's where it ends off on.
33:06 So, okay, I get the setup.
33:09 It seemed like they were just in a hurry to get to the plot setup
33:12 for where the Skrulls go next.
33:14 It segues into Marvels, where obviously the Kree are going to be
33:17 in Marvels, and maybe they will actually address
33:19 the whole Skrull thing, which is a big deal for Kree and Skrulls
33:22 to possibly get the hell along.
33:25 It's a big deal.
33:28 And I hope the movie does it.
33:31 I hope the movie shows that.
33:33 Or unless we solve it off screen.
33:35 I don't know what they're going to do.
33:37 But cool, fine.
33:42 I guess I'm excited for that.
33:44 But yeah, I mean, I liked Nick Fury and Vara's final moments here.
33:50 There are things that -- this whole thing with --
33:54 I can't believe in the trailer they had the whole thing
33:57 where the reveal of Nick Fury will eventually come back to being him.
34:01 And then here it just walks into the house.
34:04 They'll make a moment out of it.
34:06 And I'm itching for that so much.
34:09 I'm like, "You could have just treated it like it's nothing."
34:12 Well, yeah, and it's torn between --
34:14 I think it's torn between being those two different kinds of shows,
34:18 the version where it's like, "Badass comeback!
34:20 Finally I have returned to my full form!"
34:22 versus going understated and more intimate with it.
34:26 And I feel like here it postures the intimacy
34:30 and mostly leads with that "Hey, hey!" kind of energy.
34:33 And then in moments like that will randomly go flat.
34:35 And I can't tell if stuff was retooled
34:38 or if there were just certain things that they were more enthusiastic about
34:42 than others when it came to really bringing these moments to life on set.
34:47 It is like an odd show because it doesn't feel as jagged and inconsistent
34:51 as some shows do, but it will travel from feeling quite inspired
34:54 and quite punchy to feeling, again, perfunctory a little bit
34:58 or sort of workman-like.
35:01 Yeah. I mean, I like the darkness of the final moments
35:06 where you're seeing humanity start going crazy
35:11 and just taking things into their own hands.
35:14 Unsettling.
35:15 Yeah, because it's on national television.
35:18 It feels real. It's just so kind of harsh and stark and just like,
35:22 "Oh, wow, those people just got mowed down."
35:25 Yeah, no.
35:26 In a TV studio.
35:28 At the same time, I do think the show's pacing
35:32 undercuts the moment so much.
35:35 It just felt like it had to move so fast that it couldn't really sink its teeth
35:38 into any of the things it tried to do.
35:40 You had two really long first episodes.
35:43 What mandate was ordered?
35:45 Yeah, who decides these things and why are all the shows--
35:48 Why is there a consistent issue with the lengths of these shows?
35:52 Well, it jarringly became shorter.
35:54 Yeah.
35:55 It jarringly became shorter.
35:56 And it kicked into a higher gear.
35:58 It went from almost an hour long for the first two,
36:02 which I really liked both,
36:04 and I know there are people--
36:06 I saw people in the comments in the last episode going,
36:09 "This is probably my favorite episode."
36:11 And again, that's good for you guys if it is your favorite episode.
36:18 I cannot say that anything has reached the heights of the first two
36:24 following this.
36:25 I think this is better than episode four and five.
36:31 I like this more than episode four than I think I do.
36:34 I don't know.
36:35 I really don't.
36:36 I don't even give a shit, honestly.
36:37 I don't know.
36:38 Break all the episodes.
36:39 I don't.
36:40 One, two, six, three, four, five.
36:42 One, two were great, and three was the second one below them.
36:47 And then after that, it's a mixed bag to me for four, five, and six.
36:53 So, yeah, this was--
36:56 Overall, the finale of it all, I thought was very much--
36:59 I still thought it was a mess.
37:01 And while there were some exciting moments to be had,
37:04 I still thought it was very messy.
37:06 I didn't dislike it to the point of--
37:10 You see, the thing is, when I think about Moon Knight
37:12 and I think about Hawkeye, I remembered the penultimates really liking.
37:19 Yes.
37:20 You know?
37:21 Yeah, being like, "Whoa, this could maybe nail a killer finale."
37:25 And then the finale, I was like, "Ah, shit."
37:27 "We're going to wrap this all up."
37:29 Yeah.
37:30 Where here, I was like, "Well, the show's been going downhill for me,
37:35 so I'm not exactly disappointed."
37:39 But you couldn't leave us with like 50 minutes.
37:41 I'm like, "I had fun.
37:44 I'm not going to think about it ever again probably."
37:47 To me, this is like the most consistent of the inconsistent shows
37:51 because the ways in which it is inconsistent
37:54 are quite consistent across the show itself.
37:57 I like the tone and the atmosphere and most everything.
38:01 I think that gets so lost, though, over time.
38:03 It does.
38:04 The seam work remains, but yeah, all that stuff gets lost.
38:07 No, yeah, I'm not going to pretend--
38:09 This is a show that is marked to me by the potential.
38:13 There are moments when it's hitting the potential.
38:15 There are a lot of moments when it's not.
38:17 I like the general veneer of what the show is,
38:20 and I hope that they don't decide not to pursue this flavor in the future
38:25 because it does feel a bit different, and it does feel in that more, again, espionage.
38:29 Not to-- Everyone always pulls Winter Soldier,
38:31 and this doesn't feel exactly like that,
38:33 but this feels, yeah, like, oh, the kind of government conspiracy side
38:38 of all this superhero-infused world.
38:42 And I like that they spend the time and energy to do that.
38:46 I wish they could iron out the consistency factor
38:50 because this is-- Yeah, it's like when it's flat, it's not terrible,
38:53 and it's not completely out of line with what's come before.
38:56 It just doesn't have the room to breathe.
38:59 Well, guys, those are my thoughts.
39:04 If you don't really want to watch the show, I think you could just--
39:10 I think out of all the shows, this is the one.
39:12 You could just read what happens in it.
39:14 Or if you really don't care to watch, out of all of them,
39:17 you could just look up what happens in it if you want.
39:21 So, yeah. What did you think about it, though?
39:24 What are your thoughts? We're here to just share ours.
39:27 That's our review, so leave your thoughts down below.
39:32 Hopefully Marvel's is good. Hopefully so.
39:36 And we'll see how much they factor in.
39:40 Humanity worried about Skrulls moving forward,
39:43 or this is just another plot line that is introduced,
39:46 and we ultimately don't really think about it in the end.
39:51 All right. We'll talk to you all soon. Thank you to G Fuel.
39:54 I got to edit.
