00:00 Now we're in the midst of the six weeks holidays and with British summertime weather having
00:06 looked a lot better, you may have already booked up to go on holiday this August. But
00:10 should you be wary of keeping your home safe whilst you're away? Well, according to new
00:14 data from comparison site Confused.com, 43% of burglaries take place when no one's home.
00:20 With this in mind, keeping your home safe may be made easier with a video doorbell.
00:25 This means you can keep an eye on activity that takes place outside the front of your
00:28 home, even when you're thousands of miles away. Connected to your phone via an app,
00:33 you'll be notified every time activity takes place in front of its sensor near your house.
00:37 Another tip is to have a car parked on the driveway, as this is a great way of giving
00:41 the appearance that someone is home. Perhaps ask a neighbour or a friend to park there
00:46 if you're driving to your holiday destination. And finally, whilst one of the best bits of
00:51 going on holiday is telling your friends and family, just be careful when posting on social
00:55 media as to when and where you're going away.
