00:00 Right, so basically the story is you guys, Greg's looking to open 150 new stores, so
00:11 basically you're all obviously Greg's fans, so what do you love most about Greg's?
00:15 Coffee. Cheap coffee, and it's good coffee as well. And great cakes. And I had some of
00:21 the potato wedges. Yes, they were very nice. We like a bit of mutty in the morning, don't
00:28 you? Oh yeah, the deal. The bacon butty morning deal, that's a good thing. I suppose with
00:32 things like pasties and bacon butties and signs and stuff like that, you can't really
00:34 go wrong, it's that classic British food really, so is that another reason you love it? But
00:38 also it's the only place that's open when we're stupidly out running in the morning.
00:41 Yeah, they open very early in the morning, which is really good. Yeah, definitely. I
00:45 was looking this morning and Greg's actually the most popular fast food outlet in the UK.
00:49 It's got more outlets in more branches than anywhere else, more on Subway, Maccies, everything.
00:53 Why do you think it is so popular in the UK? Cheap, quick, because you can go in, you serve
00:58 very quickly, no messing around, are you? And cheap, like 99p a coffee. You can't get
01:03 a coffee for 99p, and it's all good stuff. Yeah, definitely. What's your go-to order
01:07 then? Coffee. Always a coffee. What about the baked goods? Do you ever go for the baked
01:12 goods? Yeah, pasties, sausage rolls, star biscuits. Yeah, gingerbread men? Yes. Definitely.
01:20 Wedges. And what's your sandwich that you like? Oh, I've got my sandwich in my pocket.
01:27 It's the ham and egg. Ham and egg. Great stuff. Already the most popular fast food outlet
01:37 in the UK, with more than 2,200 branches, for comparison, McDonald's has just over 1,300.
01:44 Gregg's is also set to open 150 new branches in the near future. Part of this strategy
01:50 will also involve opening cafes inside Sainsbury's stores.
01:53 Here we're with George. George, what makes Gregg's so great in your opinion then? It's
01:58 tasty, isn't it? And the price is right as well. Yeah, definitely. It's the most popular
02:03 fast food outlet in the UK, with over 2,200 branches. What do you think makes it so popular
02:10 just in general in the UK? I think it's quick, it's easy, it's somewhere you can slip to
02:15 on your lunch break. Like I say, the price is very reasonable and the sausage rolls are
02:19 to die for, aren't they? Yeah, true. And it's a decent cup of coffee as well. Lots of people
02:23 have been saying that. In terms of them looking to open up 150 new branches inside Sainsbury's
02:28 stores, do you think that's kind of like a good move from there, opening new stores as
02:31 well? Yeah, it's obviously more business, it's good for the economy. I struggle to think
02:37 where they're going to put them because they're going to put down Preston. There's one opposite
02:40 the hospital, there's one here, there's one in the shopping centre. So there's a fair
02:44 few around already, but yeah, I mean in areas where there's not so many, good idea. Yeah,
02:49 definitely. Go-to Greg's order? Sausage roll cappuccino. Perfect, nice one, thanks very
02:55 much. Safe to say, we won't be short of places to get our hands on a sausage roll in the
03:00 near future.
