PM Modi should learn from Vajpayee: Derek O’Brien | Manipur | Parliament Monsoon Session | TMC | BJP

  • last year
On Tuesday, Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the Manipur violence issue in Parliament, putting more pressure on him. He suggested that the Prime Minister should take inspiration from former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had spoken multiple times in the Upper House on significant matters.

Derek O'Brien took to Twitter and said, ""Mr. Narendra Modi, why not follow the example of Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and speak inside Parliament?"" He backed his statement by citing data from a policy research organization that highlighted seven instances when former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had intervened on crucial issues in the Rajya Sabha.
