00:00 The best thing about being a triple parent is while they're identical and they look alike,
00:03 they do have completely different personalities.
00:06 It's really true that it's three times the love.
00:09 Austin is the oldest, aren't you Austin?
00:26 You're a big brother.
00:28 Austin likes to teach and tell us things.
00:31 He likes to tell us what's going on and correct us if he gets something wrong.
00:34 I do that part.
00:36 Okay.
00:37 You're the youngest, aren't you Ethan?
00:40 Yeah.
00:41 Ethan has his seat on the sofa and he's the little boss,
00:44 so he has to sit there and nobody's allowed to sit in his seat.
00:47 You like hunting for crocodiles, don't you?
00:49 Yeah.
00:50 And playing in the sea?
00:51 Yeah.
00:52 And then Rupert?
00:53 He picks things up really fast.
00:55 I tell him something once, he'll understand it and just do it.
00:58 You going to make your bed?
00:59 Yeah.
01:00 We had a bleed, so we'd gone in at six weeks early for a scan.
01:11 The woman could see that we was worried, so she turned the screen quickly to reassurance
01:16 and said, "Oh look, there's a heartbeat."
01:18 And then she found a second one and said, "Oh, there's two."
01:21 And then she found the third one and said, "Oh, there's something else,
01:24 so I'm just going to go and speak to somebody more senior and get a second opinion."
01:28 So my mind went into overdrive that there's something else.
01:32 So when she came back and she said it was a baby, I just burst out laughing
01:36 just with reassurance and happy that it was three babies.
01:40 What was your reaction?
01:41 Just absolutely shocked.
01:42 It was the fact that there was all sharing more placentas.
01:46 I really thought that went to, "Oh my God, what's the risk?"
01:50 We had lots of pregnancy complications.
01:52 The 81 weeks then told us that Ethan had stopped growing.
01:57 At that point, we needed to have the C-section urgently.
02:01 We just kept thinking, "Everything's going to be okay because it has to be."
02:06 After they'd delivered Austin, Ethan's cord became wrapped around Rupert's neck
02:11 and they just very calmly discussed and resolved it
02:15 without setting me or anybody else into panic.
02:19 Thankfully now everyone's here and causing chaos.
02:23 If you imagine having one child and experiencing all the fun and excitement of them growing up,
02:36 you'd get that times three.
02:38 I think the hardest thing is if they get poorly.
02:45 If one catches something and gets poorly, you just know it's a matter of time
02:50 until the other two get poorly.
02:51 You can't necessarily give them your invited attention.
02:54 We got really routine as well.
02:56 Once we got to that point where everything was organised, it was a lot easier.
03:00 Shall we go wake up Austin and Ethan?
03:02 Wonderful.
03:03 I think the routine is absolutely key.
03:06 It's all about staying one step ahead of what they need.
03:09 Keep them well fed, make sure that they nap so they're not tired.
03:12 It's really true that it's three times the love.
