00:00 Hello and welcome to this week's bulletin featuring some of the stories making the headlines
00:08 in this week's Fife Free Press.
00:10 Papers on sale from Thursday so please do pick up a copy when you're out and about.
00:14 Our front page this week, Well Out Sun plans to build homes at the coastal path at Seafield.
00:18 They've just resurfaced again.
00:20 You may recall that the developer tried to build eight homes on a strip of land in 2022
00:25 and he was refused by the council.
00:28 They've now come back with a new planning application so we look at what's changed and
00:32 we have a diagram that shows what the area might look like if the councillors give the
00:36 go ahead.
00:37 Check out in this week's press it's bound to be a big talking point in the town given
00:39 the feedback from a year ago.
00:41 We also have a feature on Park Gouth, a unique sport to Kirkcaldy.
00:46 It's a great way of getting involved in golf.
00:47 You have one club, one ball and away you go.
00:50 Lisa May Young has been speaking to Martin Christie, one of the driving forces behind
00:53 it for our new column Kirkcaldy Guardians which runs on a regular basis in the press.
00:57 We hear about his passion for the sport and how it's doing so much for so many people.
01:01 We also celebrate the Victoria Hospital worker who has just recorded 50 years service with
01:07 the health service in Fife.
01:09 It's a fantastic achievement and has been rightly celebrated with a number of events.
01:13 Read about her story and again her passion for her job in this week's Fife Free Press.
01:17 Of course this weekend Scotland hosts the first ever UCI Cycling World Championships
01:22 that come to the country.
01:23 11 days of competition.
01:25 It's a massive, massive event and we feature Paralympian Finn Graham who's from Kirkcaldy
01:30 and he's bidding for glory in his hometown.
01:33 Of course the event is bringing some road disruption as it comes across to Fife.
01:36 We've got all the details of when the roads are closed and what impact it might have on
01:39 you this weekend.
01:40 All of this plus of course we'll feature on Kirkcaldy's own cycling festival which is
01:45 starting up next month.
01:46 All that and many, many more stories in the press this week.
01:49 As always please pick up a copy when you're out and about and our thanks for supporting
01:53 local journalism.
