00:05 the recent lawsuit against the Grammy winner dropped.
00:07 The filmmaker shared her alleged experiences with the singer on social media.
00:15 Sophia Nelia Allison shared her experience working with Lizzo on her documentary on social
00:20 media leaving many fans distraught.
00:22 The Love, Lizzo documentary deals with body positivity, which is one of the ironic themes
00:26 and claims from this lawsuit.
00:28 It's Sam Lawhanie reporting with the details.
00:30 Taking to Twitter's newly revised platform, X, Allison shared a photo detailing her experience
00:35 working with the star back in 2019.
00:37 She stated, "I usually do not comment on anything pop culture related, but in 2019,
00:42 I traveled a bit with Lizzo to be the director of her documentary.
00:45 I walked away after about two weeks.
00:48 I was treated with such disrespect by her."
00:50 The director went on to add to the latest claims brought on by former dancers claiming
00:54 mistreatment in the workplace and a hostile working environment.
00:57 Allison further added, "I witnessed how arrogant, self-centered, and unkind she is.
01:02 I was not protected and thrown into a situation with little support.
01:06 My spirit said to run as fast as you can and I'm so grateful I trusted my gut.
01:11 I felt gaslit and was deeply hurt, but I peeled."
01:13 The director did not go into detail on what exactly happened between her and the "Good
01:18 As Hell" singer, but she did mention that these reports struck her deeply and gave support
01:22 to the dancers.
01:23 Allison stated, "Reading these reports made me realize how dangerous of a situation it
01:27 was.
01:28 This kind of abusive power happens far too often.
01:31 Much love and support to the dancers."
01:33 On Tuesday, the news broke that three former dancers, Arna Davis, Krystal Williams, and
01:37 Noel Rodriguez, are suing the Grammy winner, as well as Big Girl Touring and dance captain
01:41 Sherilyn Quigley.
01:42 As previously reported by What's Trending, the trio alleged they were subjected to "weight
01:47 shaming, sexually degrading behavior, and pressure to participate in sex shows."
01:52 The plaintiff's attorney, Ron Zambrano, blasted Lizzo in a statement saying, "The stunning
01:56 nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against
02:00 everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight shames her dancers and
02:05 demeans them in ways that are absolutely demoralizing."
02:09 Hours after the lawsuit also became public, Lizzo's former creative director, Quinn Whitley-Wilson,
02:14 and dancer Courtney Hollingquist shared that they had a similar experience.
02:18 "For clarification, I'm not a part of the lawsuit, but this was very much my experience
02:22 in my time there," Hollingquist wrote on her Instagram story.
02:25 She added, "Big shout out to the dancers who had the courage to bring this to light."
02:29 Wilson shared a screenshot of Hollingquist's statement on her own social media page, saying
02:33 she was "echoing everything that was already said."
02:36 Beyonce also let Lizzo out of her song "Break My Soul" during a live performance, which
02:40 originally featured a shout out to Lizzo in the lyrics.
