Why Batters make more money than bowlers #euphoriacricket

Have you ever heard someone say that cricket is a batsman’s game? Well, it's true, and they make more money as well. Here’s one of the articles of the list of highest paid cricketers, and there is no bowler in the list. I don’t mean that they are paid less by their boards. Bowlers are paid like batters by their respective boards, but they don’t make as much money from sponsors and brand deals. The main reason why bowlers make less money in cricket compared to batters is due to the nature of the game itself. Cricket is a sport where batting is generally considered more valuable and marketable than bowling. Like, bat sponsors don’t pay big amount of money to sponsor a bowler’s bat, because they don’t come out to bat very often and if you have been Watching the IPL you might have noticed something, there are 4,5 more awards other than Player of the Match, like best striker, best six, best catch of the match. on the other hand you can’t have awards like best dot ball or best play and a miss award, because its not marketable.
Batting is more glorified as well, if you ask a regular cricket fan about who they think is the greatest Cricketer of all time, they will Most likely mention batters like Sachin Tendulkar, Don Bradman, Virat Kohli or Brian Lara, very few people might name bowling legends like Murali, Shane Warne or Glenn Mcgrath. Throughout the years there have been significant changes made to bats to make them more suitable for hitting the ball, but there have been very few changes made to balls. This means batters will score more runs and High Scoring games have higher viewership than low scoring games, all the more reason for Brands to sponsor batting. Additionally, limited-overs cricket has become increasingly popular in recent years, which further emphasises the importance of batting. In shorter formats of the game such as T twenties, batting is even more valued due to the high-scoring nature of the format.

Bowlers, on the other hand, are primarily focused on restricting the opposition's scoring and taking wickets.

While they are vital to a team's success, their contributions are often overshadowed by the efforts of batters. Therefore, bowlers may not receive the same level of recognition or financial compensation as batters.
However, it is worth noting that this trend is gradually changing with the rise of T20 leagues around the world. Bowlers who are adept at bowling in the death overs and have the ability to take wickets regularly are highly sought after and can earn significant sums of money.

Thanks for watching, Have a Nice Day.
