Lizzo Denies Allegations, Made Against Her in Lawsuit.
On August 3, Lizzo dismissed allegations of sexual
harassment and creating a hostile work environment
made by three former dancers in a lawsuit. .
NBC reports that Lizzo called the claims
"unbelievable" and "outrageous.".
These last few days have been
gut wrenchingly difficult and
overwhelmingly disappointing. , Lizzo, via Instagram.
My work ethic,
morals and respectfulness
have been questioned.
My character has been criticized. , Lizzo, via Instagram.
Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, said
that while she normally does not respond to allegations,
this lawsuit "is too outrageous to not be addressed.".
Lizzo said that the former employees
who filed the lawsuit against her , "have already publicly admitted that they were told their
behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.".
NBC reports that attorney Ron Zambrano,
representing all three former dancers, said that Lizzo's , "denial of this reprehensible behavior only
adds to our clients’ emotional distress.”.
The dismissive comments and
utter lack of empathy are quite telling
about her character and only serve to
minimize the trauma she has caused
the plaintiffs and other employees
who have now come forward sharing
their own negative experiences, Ron Zambrano, Attorney, via NBC.
NBC reports that the suit accuses
Lizzo of calling out one dancer's weight
gain and ultimately firing the dancer.
