00:00 You put a ring on Melissa's finger, but you don't want to fight to see if that can work.
00:04 Because you're having doubts.
00:06 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 inappropriate moments caught on live TV.
00:13 All right, we apologize for that.
00:16 We'll be we'll be right back.
00:21 For this list, we'll be looking at the most memorable live moments that were out of place and not well suited to the context in which they occurred, whether intentional or accidental.
00:30 What's the most inappropriate thing you've ever seen on live TV?
00:32 Let us know in the comments below.
00:34 Number 10, Tucker Carlson falls asleep on air.
00:38 Many of us have found ourselves in this position before.
00:41 You're so exhausted at work.
00:42 You take a quick nap when no one's looking.
00:44 He's really asleep.
00:45 I don't think we're being good co-hosts right now.
00:49 Unfortunately for this guy, this moment was seen by many during a live broadcast of Fox and Friends in 2013.
00:55 Host Tucker Carlson slept while the cameras were still rolling.
00:59 Apparently, Carlson had been up late the previous night covering for Sean Hannity and thought to snooze off a bit during the commercial break.
01:05 You know what it is, is I sat in for Sean Hannity last night.
01:08 You know, it went late.
01:09 He, however, couldn't tell when they were back on air.
01:11 You know, seeing as he was already in Dreamland, co-hosts Clayton Morris and Allison Camerata poke fun at him.
01:17 But Carlson is able to play it off professionally.
01:19 Is this is this honestly on TV?
01:21 We're on television.
01:22 We're actually live.
01:22 This is going to help.
01:23 I'm just going to roll with it.
01:23 And, um.
01:24 It's happened and many times Ali's been speaking.
01:28 Well, I don't know if it was my dulcet tones that lulled you to sleep.
01:32 Number nine, Yuli Gurriel's offensive gesture.
01:35 The 2017 World Series ended with the Houston Astros clinching their first ever win against the L.A.
01:40 Dodgers.
01:41 The Houston Astros are world champions for the first time in franchise history.
01:47 But the match was not without controversy.
01:49 Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel scored a home run off Dodgers pitcher Hugh Darvish.
01:54 After returning to the bench, Gurriel was caught on camera making a slanted eye gesture in an apparent mockery of Darvish, who is Japanese.
02:01 Acting like that, it just doesn't, it just disrespect all the people around the world.
02:05 Just, you know, to the Houston organization, that's just not a good thing.
02:09 He also appeared to mouth an offensive word, which means "little Chinese boy" in Spanish.
02:13 The scandal resulted in Gurriel receiving a five game suspension for the 2018 season.
02:18 This morning, ESPN is reporting that the MLB plans to talk to Gurriel about the incident.
02:23 He's gonna have a statement, I know he's remorseful.
02:25 The Astros baseman tendered an apology to Darvish and later tipped his helmet to him, presumably as a show of remorse.
02:31 Survivor China runner-up Courtney Yates received quite a lot of media attention during her time on the show.
02:39 Much of it revolving around her weight.
02:50 Both media houses and her fellow contestants on the show speculated about the true cause of her petite stature.
02:55 These comments continued to dog Yates until the reunion, resulting in one of the most inappropriate lines of inquiry in TV history.
03:02 Out of nowhere, host Jeff Probst openly questioned Yates about the nature of her weight, in the most embarrassing way imaginable.
03:16 He then topped that off by congratulating her for putting on a few pounds.
03:20 Probst managed to outdo himself later on, when he asked Eric Huffman if he was still a virgin.
03:24 In 2014, KTVA reporter Sharlo Green went viral after a clip of her dramatic resignation made it to social media.
03:46 Green was doing a report on the Alaska Cannabis Club, an organization that had launched a campaign to help legalize statewide recreational use of the herb.
03:53 Halfway into the program, she reveals that she is actually the owner of the club, and then proceeds to quit her job live on air.
04:12 Green reportedly left the show to focus on becoming a full-time cannabis advocate.
04:15 However, her club was later raided by the authorities, and she was charged with multiple criminal offenses, carrying a possible 54-year prison sentence.
04:27 Green later pleaded guilty to one felony count.
04:29 Calling off an engagement can be awkward for all parties involved, but doing so in front of millions of people is what we imagine peak embarrassment to be.
04:40 "I've wanted to tell you something for a long time now, that I am completely in love with you."
04:46 For the 13th season of The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick first proposed to Melissa Rycroft, but later realized that he had stronger feelings for Molly Mullaney, the runner-up.
04:58 Weeks later, during the After the Final Rose special, Mesnick called off the engagement with Rycroft and chose Mullaney instead.
05:04 "You're such a bastard."
05:07 "I wish more than anything that last day you would have just let me go, instead of doing this to me. I'm so mad at you."
05:17 It was a painfully uncomfortable moment to watch, so we can only imagine how Rycroft was feeling.
05:21 The choice seems to have paid off though, as Mesnick and Mullaney are still together, and Rycroft is happily married to someone else.
05:27 "We kind of look at the whole Bachelor fiasco, if you will, as something necessary to make our love story work."
05:34 "Yes, yes." "So, it was a good thing."
05:37 1974 Academy Awards streaker. Ah, the Oscars. A night of glitz and glamour, where the biggest names in movies walk the red carpet in the most expensive garments.
05:46 At the 46th edition, however, the most memorable individual was a relatively unknown man, who crossed the stage in nothing but his birthday suit.
05:53 "He, of course, was that relative nobody until he streaked naked, of course, past David Niven and a stunned nationwide television audience."
06:00 While co-host David Niven was about to introduce Elizabeth Taylor, a naked man named Robert Opel ran across the stage and waved the peace sign.
06:07 Opel's sudden appearance sent the auditorium into an uproar, with loud cheers and applause heard from the audience.
06:13 Thankfully, Niven was able to get the show back on track with a hilarious rejoinder.
06:17 Ever heard the phrase, "If you can't beat 'em, bite 'em"? No? Well, that's probably because you aren't Mike Tyson.
06:26 The highly controversial heavyweight boxer reached a new height of infamy when he faced Evander Holyfield for a second time on June 28, 1997.
06:34 In the third round of the match, Tyson bit Holyfield's ear, not once, but twice, with one bite so strong it took off a chunk of the organ.
06:54 Tyson was disqualified from the bout and faced severe consequences, including a hefty fine and having his boxing license revoked.
07:01 This was, however, reinstated later. It remains one of the most bizarre moments in boxing history, put on display for millions of live viewers.
07:20 On May 30, 2012, Hollywood actor Martin Short appeared on the Today show to promote the then-newly released Madagascar 3, Europe's Most Wanted.
07:28 In the course of their discussion, host Kathy Lee Gifford casually asked Short about his wife, Nancy Dolman, and how they've sustained their love over the years.
07:46 It all seemed like a pretty nice gesture. The only problem was that Dolman had passed away nearly two years earlier.
07:51 Judging by Short's response, though, you never know it.
07:54 The veteran comedian handles the questions with grace and breezes on to talk about his new film.
08:07 Gifford was later made aware of her mistake and gave an on-air apology to Short.
08:15 Within one second, Janet Jackson's breast was exposed on live TV and her entire world came crashing down.
08:21 Jackson was one of the artists billed to headline the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show in February of 2004.
08:26 While performing alongside Justin Timberlake, he pulled off a part of Jackson's costume and inadvertently revealed her breast live on TV.
08:38 It only lasted a split second, but that was all it took to spark a nationwide outrage.
08:44 The Super Bowl halftime show, traditionally a showcase of musical talent and entertainment, became the stage for a sensationalized controversy.
08:52 The incident led to tighter regulations for live broadcasts and Jackson suffered severe consequences, from which Timberlake was largely spared.

09:19 Over the years, controversial music figure Kanye West has proven just how unpredictable he can be when live cameras are rolling in front of him.
09:25 West infamously called out former President George W. Bush in a 2005 charity telethon for Hurricane Katrina victims.
09:32 But nothing comes close to when he walked on stage and interrupted Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs.
09:38 Swift had previously been a fan of the late rapper, but he was not the only one to be upset.
09:43 In a statement, he said, "I'm so sorry for the loss of my wife. I'm so sorry for the loss of my son."
09:49 "I'm so sorry for the loss of my son."
09:52 "I'm so sorry for the loss of my son."
09:55 "I'm so sorry for the loss of my son."
09:58 Swift had just won Best Female Video when West grabbed the microphone from her to declare that Beyoncé deserved the award instead.
10:05 "Yo, Taylor. I'm really happy for you. I'm gonna let you finish. But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."
10:12 The shocking interruption not only stole the spotlight from Swift, but also undermined her accomplishment and embarrassed her in front of millions.
10:19 Although West later apologized, the incident kicked off a lasting feud between both artists.
10:24 "I feel like in some ways like I'm a soldier of culture. And I realize that no one wants that to be my job."
