00:06 Despite this, he's still relatively unknown to golf and non-golf fans alike.
00:10 So with that in mind, here's 10 facts about Scotty Scheffler.
00:15 Scheffler's hometown is Dallas, Texas, where he played both golf and basketball at Highland
00:20 Park High School.
00:22 He stayed in the state of Texas for his college career, attending the University of Texas
00:26 in Austin.
00:27 During his time at college, he helped the golf team win three Big 12 championships,
00:31 and he was also named Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year in 2015.
00:36 He graduated from college three years later in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in finance.
00:41 After being named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2020, his first win on tour didn't come
00:47 until 2022.
00:49 This first win was in February of that year, winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
00:54 He'd then go on to win his second event just three weeks later at the Arnold Palmer Invitational,
00:58 and he'd win his third tour event in March 2022 at the WGC Match Play in Austin.

01:12 In doing this, he broke the record for the quickest period of time between a first tour
