01:28 Hi.
01:28 My name is Hardika Shah, and I'm the founder and CEO
01:32 of Kinara Capital.
01:35 You asked me how I start my day.
01:37 I'm actually an early riser.
01:39 I've always been.
01:40 I usually get out of bed and, like everybody else,
01:42 check my phone first.
01:44 But very quickly, I remind myself
01:46 that there are three dogs outside who need me to get out
01:50 and give them some food.
01:51 I take care of these street dogs around the neighborhood.
01:54 There's Darpok, and Lola, and Papita,
01:56 and sometimes a couple of other stragglers
01:58 come by who I get to name as well.
02:01 After that, my lovely husband Bala
02:03 makes me the one and only one thing
02:05 he knows how to cook, which is a beautiful cup of coffee.
02:08 So I get that caffeine boost, and I'm ready to go.
02:12 Sometimes we go for a walk.
02:13 Probably need to do a little bit more of that.
02:16 But usually, that just gets me going.
02:18 Coffee is the best, and I get ready to go to work.
02:21 Work's usually a set of meetings, follow-ups.
02:25 We have an open calendar, open culture.
02:28 I have no secretary, no EA.
02:30 So I manage my own travel.
02:33 I manage my own timetable, and I manage all the meetings
02:36 myself, which means I'm always on my toes moving
02:38 around the office, which is now already four
02:41 floors in the corporate office here in Bangalore.
02:44 But at the end of the day, I try to get home by 7, 730,
02:49 and I try to switch off my technical finance
02:54 part of my brain and do something that's a little bit
02:56 more fun and creative.
02:57 I love art.
02:59 I collect art.
03:00 I used to paint.
03:02 I'm not very good, which is why I collect more than I actually
03:05 paint.
03:05 One of the other parts of my job is to travel.
03:08 I get to meet customers.
03:10 I get to go to my branches, meet employees.
03:13 Last year, I spent a lot of time on the road, 13 countries
03:18 and probably about 40 to 50 cities in India.
03:21 I love that part of my job.
03:23 It is liberating, trying new places, foods,
03:27 and just talking to people to see
03:29 how life goes on for them.
03:31 A lot of meetings around technology and data science,
03:33 because that is a core part of how
03:35 we solve the different parts of our business
03:38 to provide a level of service that
03:39 is required by the small business entrepreneur.
03:42 So we spend a huge amount of time
03:44 working and reworking our technology
03:47 to make it more efficient, more powerful, and more relevant.
03:51 I usually come to office with my dappa,
03:54 and I hope that I get time to eat it with some folks,
03:57 because everything is on the go.
03:59 And when I do, I just walk into the cafeteria
04:01 and sit down with whoever is there
04:03 in that time of the day and share a meal.
04:05 And most of the times, they appreciate what I bring
04:08 in my dappa as much as I do theirs.
04:11 You ask me what advice I can give
04:12 to young women who are in business
04:15 and want to be leaders tomorrow.
04:18 My one piece of advice is the one
04:20 that has worked for me always, which is to be persistent.
04:24 Everyone is going to try to figure out where you fit,
04:27 what box to put you in--
04:28 too fat, too thin, too tall, too skinny, too whatever.
04:33 At the end of the day, you only have yourself
04:35 to answer.
04:36 You need to find your voice.
04:38 You need to find that authentic story that is yours.
04:42 And that is what has helped me.
04:44 And being persistent with yourself and everything
04:47 you want to do gets you where you need to go.
