00:00 Ukrainian forces struck two key road bridges on critical Russian ground lines of communication
00:08 connecting annexed Crimea and occupied Kherson region, causing Russian forces to reroute
00:15 road traffic from shorter eastern routes to longer western routes.
00:19 Now here are the two bridges that have been hit.
00:24 A road bridge across the Hennichesk Strait connecting Hennichesk area to the Arabat Spit.
00:30 Russian sources amplified images showing significant damage to the bridge and claimed that Ukrainian
00:35 strikes partially collapsed a section of the bridge.
00:39 The second one is the Chunhar Road bridge along the M18 highway connecting Zhankoy and
00:46 Melitopol.
00:47 Moscow appointed head of annexed Crimea Sergei Aksyonov announced that repair work is underway
00:53 at the Chunhar bridge and that Russian officials will reroute all traffic through the Armensk
00:58 and Perekop checkpoints along the M17, Armensk-Oleshki and T-2202, Armensk-Novokokhovka highways.
01:10 Now most if not all Russian road traffic between Crimea and Kherson will have to pass along
01:17 or very close to one 20-kilometre section of the M17 between Armensk and Ishchun right
01:26 here.
01:27 This is a major bottleneck in Russian ground lines of communication.
01:31 The Institute for the Study of War adds Russian line along the T-220 to northwest of Crimea,
01:38 especially the routes along Primorye and Trunk roads south of Novokokhovka are closer to
01:44 Ukrainian positions here in upper Kherson region and in many cases within artillery
01:51 range of the Ukrainian held western bank of the river.
01:56 The Institute for the Study of War also says Ukrainian strikes on bridges along critical
02:00 Russian ground lines of communication in southern Ukraine are a part of the Ukrainian interdiction
02:05 campaign focused on setting conditions for future decisive counter-offensive operations.
