00:00 So we've created Golf It to be able to break down the barriers and challenge the misperceptions
00:08 around the sport of golf. Essentially what we're trying to do and what we're looking
00:14 to achieve with Golf It Glasgow is to create a family environment, a destination where
00:19 people can be themselves, where they've got freedom to play and we've created lots of
00:24 different golfing activities. First of all we've listened to the people of Glasgow and
00:32 understood exactly what they would like in terms of a family destination with golf running
00:37 right through the heart of it. And I hope what we've created is something that they're
00:43 going to be proud of. You were just saying there golf had lost its way a bit in terms
00:46 of bringing through the younger generation something that golf has struggled to do up
00:52 until the last couple of years. We had some of the local community schools here this afternoon
00:57 as well. Talk to me about, they obviously had the honour of hitting the opening shots
01:02 for the range opening, talk to us about why it's so important to have those community
01:07 links. Yeah so it's a key part of our strategy. When we designed the concept of Golf It is
01:14 that community needed to run right through the heart of all of our decision making and
01:19 whether that was obviously the partnerships that we've been creating, the building that
01:22 we're creating, obviously a really welcoming, vibrant place. But one of the first partnerships
01:29 that we created was with St Paul's Youth Forum who are a fantastic organisation who have
01:36 worked with thousands of children within the north east of Glasgow and literally impact
01:43 their lives really positively. So we wanted to harness that relationship and to provide
01:48 opportunities for the young people within this area. So whether that's through volunteering
01:53 and into employability and also apprenticeships and we've got a number of those programmes
01:57 that we're going to be running at Golf It. But what we started last year, so a year before
02:03 we actually opened the venue, is we started a schools programme. And over the last year
02:10 we have worked with 14 local primary schools, 4,500 school kids and delivering in curriculum
02:17 golf activities to them. And the plan over the next 5 years is to roll that all out across
02:21 Glasgow delivering golf activities to 42,500 school children. And then the pathway is then
02:28 to pull them back into Golf It for them to continue their golfing journey. So we're super
02:33 excited about it and that was some of the kids that we obviously had here today.
