00:00 live in Otis, Colorado, where the storms are brewing.
00:02 Tony, tell us what you're seeing.
00:04 - We're past brew right now, Michelle.
00:07 We've got a full-on tornado on the ground here.
00:09 This is gonna be just to the northwest of Yuma, Colorado.
00:13 It's a little bit buried in the dust in there,
00:15 but you can see the condensation funnel.
00:18 It's coming out, it's emerging here.
00:20 This has been an ongoing tornado
00:21 for the better part of the last 10 minutes.
00:23 You can really start to see it emerge out of the dust.
00:25 This has been a very dusty storm.
00:27 It's likely produced several smaller tornadoes,
00:30 but this one here is certainly
00:31 the biggest, most pronounced we've seen.
00:33 Now it's gonna come out
00:35 and show its full force here for everybody.
00:36 But yeah, this is going on right now,
00:38 right in front of us here.
00:40 We're gonna show you here.
00:41 I'm gonna kind of get out in front here
00:42 and kind of show you what we're looking at.
00:44 That is one of the tornadoes.
00:46 There's actually a second circulation
00:48 right off in the back corner here.
00:49 So we've actually got two areas of circulation.
00:52 One is gonna be this guy right here.
00:53 It looks like it's starting to rope out a little bit here.
00:56 We're starting to see that funnel dissipate.
00:57 You can kind of see just the leftover dust swirl of that.
01:01 So we're starting to lose that,
01:02 but really seeing the rope out,
01:03 kind of the thin funnel coming back down right now.
01:06 Got a little bit of rain coming in.
01:07 This is the RFD, but right now this storm,
01:09 this is off to my north right now, northwest.
01:12 This is gonna pass just to my north as well.
01:15 But again, I think it is roping out.
01:16 We're starting to lose the form
01:19 that this tornado actually had here moments ago,
01:21 but we got a good view of it there.
01:23 Another area of rotation back in here.
01:24 I'm gonna get back in the car.
01:26 Now the front of the van is starting to rope out
01:27 a little bit.
01:29 Ah, excuse me.
01:30 We'll get the wipers on for you here, folks.
01:32 But yeah, this has been an ongoing situation.
01:34 We've been kind of tracking this storm
01:35 for the better part of the last couple of hours,
01:37 but this continues to do its thing.
01:40 We got, in fact, now you got another
01:42 coming back down once again.
01:43 Yeah, this is gonna be a tornadic storm
01:45 we're gonna be tracking.
01:46 This storm is gonna be moving east, southeast.
01:48 Folks in Yuma, Colorado,
01:50 definitely wanna be taking your tornado precautions
01:53 right now.
01:53 Obviously, as you can see,
01:54 we've got a live tornado on the ground.
01:56 This looks like it's gonna pass
01:57 very close to the city of Yuma.
02:00 This is moving east, southeast fairly slowly.
02:03 What a sight to behold here for folks, though.
02:06 This is right now out in open country.
02:08 Hasn't hit anything to this point,
02:10 but we are tracking this storm, this tornado right now.
02:13 We're gonna continue to track this here
02:15 for the better part of the evening.
02:16 So certainly stay with us here on the AccuWeather Network.
02:19 We've got tornadoes in progress in Eastern Colorado.
02:23 Tony, exactly, that's a great shot of that.
02:26 And you can see the warning right here.
02:27 If you're just joining us,
02:28 we got a tornado warning in Yuma.
02:30 This is gonna expire at 5.30 p.m.
02:32 It's moving southeast.
02:33 Tony just got a really good shot of that.
02:36 But I've been eyeing this here,
02:37 and you can see it on the radar.
02:39 I mean, we've got a very well-defined hook echo.
02:42 Do you see this notching right near the Y in Yuma?
02:45 That's your evidence of that tornado there.
02:48 And then I looked on the radar, the velocity scan,
02:50 and you had that couple where you have the green
02:52 and the red next to each other.
02:54 So well-defined tornado.
02:55 And then the ground truth with Tony Loback's video,
02:58 seeing that tornado there exactly.
