00:00 Mom, tell us the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
00:04 What's a Beanstalk? Is that a kind of soup?
00:08 No, silly. It's a... I don't know.
00:11 Well, let's find out.
00:13 Long ago Jack and his mom
00:17 Lived their life on a country farm.
00:20 They were poor, not enough to eat,
00:23 So they made a plan to make ends meet.
00:26 Jack, go sell our cow, Bessie,
00:28 And with the money we can grow more crops.
00:31 On market day Jack sold old Bess
00:34 To a funny lass who was oddly dressed.
00:37 "Hello, young man," she politely bowed,
00:40 "I'll trade you beans for that milking cow.
00:43 They're magic beans, and they'll grow a crop as high as the sky."
00:47 Jack went home to show his mom,
00:51 But when she saw what he had done,
00:54 She threw away the beans outside.
00:56 "Oh, Jack, just beans, oh my!" she cried.
01:00 "But, but, Mom, they're magic beans!"
01:03 "Oh, magic, shmagic!"
01:05 The next day where the beans did land
01:08 A giant beanstalk grew.
01:10 "Oh, man!" Jack climbed those twisty vines so high
01:13 And found a castle in the sky.
01:17 "Wow! Look at that!"
01:21 But when he went inside the place
01:24 A big fat giant with an ugly face came
01:27 Thumping and so very loud
01:30 Shook the heavens and the clouds.
01:35 "Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell a boy!
01:38 Yum, yum, yum!
01:41 Fee-fi-fo-fum! Ready or not, here I come!"
01:46 Jack was so frightened that he hid in the cupboard
01:49 While the giant counted his gold.
01:52 When the big old giant fell asleep
01:55 Jack escaped with gold to keep.
01:58 Decided he'd go back up there.
02:00 "But first I'd better say a prayer!"
02:03 "Oh, please, oh, please, keep me safe from the mean old giant!"
02:08 He climbed up to the castle and hid inside.
02:11 "Aha!" he said.
02:13 "The giant's pride! Golden eggs from that little hen!"
02:17 The giant counted at least ten.
02:20 "One, two, three, four, five!
02:22 Uh, what comes after five?
02:25 Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell a boy!
02:28 Yum, yum, yum!
02:31 Fee-fi-fo-fum! Ready or not, here I come!"
02:37 "Yikes!"
02:41 "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick!
02:44 Oops! Wrong story!"
02:47 Jack was fast and acted quick.
02:50 He grabbed that fine white little hen.
02:53 Even grabbed a singing harp.
02:55 And climbed down that stalk again.
02:57 "La-la!"
02:59 But the giant came thundering after Jack
03:01 And threw himself on the beanstalk.
03:03 "When I got home I grabbed an axe
03:06 And chopped that beanstalk all the way down."
03:09 And that big old giant went hurtling off.
03:12 "Never ever to be found!"
03:15 With the hen's golden eggs,
03:17 Jack and his mom could now live a good life.
03:20 Jack's mom was proud and made a feast.
03:23 And neighbors came from near and far.
03:26 The harp played songs and sang along.
03:29 "Jack you are a shining star!
03:31 Jack you are a star!"
03:34 "So, did they make beanstalk soup?"
03:41 "No, but now they had a hen that laid golden eggs."
03:45 "Oh, but you could break your teeth on those."
03:49 (Giggling)
03:53 Story time everyone!
04:00 How about Little Red Riding Hood?
04:03 "Yay!"
04:04 "I wanna pretend that I'm Little Red."
04:06 "And I'll be the big bad wolf."
04:09 "Oh, I'm not sure Wookie likes that idea."
04:12 "Everyone ready?"
04:13 "Yeah!"
04:15 There once was a girl all dressed in red
04:20 Who went to her grandma's sickly bed.
04:23 "She's not feeling well, so I'll cut through the dell
04:27 And visit Gran for a short little spell."
04:30 "Now remember, don't talk to any strangers."
04:35 "I promise!"
04:36 Mama gave Red some special teas
04:39 Grandma's very favorite cheese.
04:42 But in the woods a wolf stopped Red.
04:45 "Well, hello my dear, you're going where?"
04:48 He said, "Um, you're a stranger, right?
04:52 I'm not really supposed to talk to you."
04:54 "But, I'm off to Gran, she's sick in bed.
04:58 I've brought some cheese and fresh baked bread."
05:01 Then Red took off, but the wolf was smart.
05:05 He knew the way to Gran's by heart.
05:08 "Ha ha ha, I'm smarter than the average wolf."
05:12 "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
05:14 The wolf sneaked into Grandma's place.
05:18 "I'll hide you so there's not a trace."
05:21 He locked her in, got into bed
05:24 With Granny's nightcap on his head.
05:27 "Help me!"
05:29 Poor Granny cried.
05:31 "Why come in, dear?"
05:33 "Why, Gran!" said Red, and she walked right in.
05:36 "Oh, I've been wondering how you've been."
05:40 "I'm, I'm okay."
05:41 "But she sounded weird."
05:43 "Um, Granny, since when do you have a beard?"
05:47 "Oh, Granny has a beard."
05:50 "Uh oh."
05:52 "Hmm, why Granny, what big ears you have.
05:56 And Granny, what big eyes you have.
05:59 And Granny, what big teeth you have."
06:02 "The better, my dear, to eat you with."
06:05 "No! No! No! Say that to my face!"
06:13 "The better to eat you with."
06:15 "Oh, I'm sick of that! No, no!"
06:19 Cried Little Red Riding Hood.
06:21 And a huntsman burst in from the woods.
06:25 He broke the door, and he grabbed that beast.
06:28 "Why, I'll give you a pound."
06:30 "You say the least!"
06:32 "You're a big, bad, hairy wolf.
06:35 And you better stop being a bully,
06:38 Or you won't have any friends!"
06:40 "Arrrrrr!"
06:41 "Hmpf!"
06:42 "Arrrrr!"
06:44 Well, the huntsman let poor Granny out.
06:47 And Little Red just blurted out,
06:50 "I talked to a stranger."
06:52 "Confess, Little Red!"
06:54 "I've learned my lesson now,"
06:56 She said.
06:57 "She learned her lesson now," she said.
07:01 "Wow! That big, bad wolf sure learned his lesson."
07:06 "He sure did. And I sent him away, and he never came back."
07:10 "See what happens to big, bad bullies?"
07:13 "Indeed! Now what's the moral of the story?"
07:16 "Never let a wolf know if you have fresh-baked bread and special cheese!"
07:21 "Hmpf! Hmpf! Hmpf!"
07:26 "Hmpf! Hmpf!"
07:29 Okay, whose turn is it to tell a story?
07:32 It's my turn, and I'm going to tell the story of the Lion and the Mouse.
07:36 Don't you mean Mouse?
07:38 Not this time, 'cause you're all going to be the little mice!
07:42 "Arrrrr!"
07:44 A mighty, mighty lion lay sleeping in his lair.
07:50 Three little mice came creeping by and stared.
07:54 One accidentally brushed up against the lion's paw.
07:58 "Yikes! Sorry, Mr. Lion!"
08:00 "There ought to be a law!"
08:02 "Oh, sorry! I hope I didn't hurt you!"
08:06 The lion drew his paw back and dropped it on the mouse.
08:10 The other mice were frightened and squealed, "You louse!"
08:14 "I beg you, Mr. Lion, kindly hear my plea."
08:18 "I promise to repay you if you'll only set me free."
08:22 "If you'll only set me free!"
08:24 "Oh, please! I'll be your best friend!"
08:30 "Please!"
08:32 "Well, I guess I could say yes, but only just this time."
08:36 "Now scatter with your friends and I'll pay you no mind!"
08:40 "Oh, thank you, Mr. Lion! I'm forever in your debt!"
08:44 "I guess not every lion is really such a threat!"
08:47 "Me too!"
08:49 "Go away!"
08:51 "I swear!"
08:53 So the great big lion let the little mouse go.
08:57 "Phew! That was scary!"
08:59 "But that wasn't the end of the story!"
09:03 "Oh, do tell!"
09:05 "Yeah, go on!"
09:07 Well, the lion went a-hunting and wound up in a net.
09:16 He paced and paced and growled and then began to fret.
09:20 So very loud that the three mice heard his cry.
09:23 "Is that your friend the lion?"
09:25 "He's in trouble, me oh my!"
09:27 "Hold on to your horses, I mean lions! We're coming to the rescue!"
09:35 Captured in the net, the lion paced and cried.
09:39 Unafraid, the little mice clobbered to his side.
09:42 They nibbled a big hole and became the lion's guide.
09:46 "Well, what do you know? These little mice have now become my pride!"
09:51 "We're friends!"
09:53 "Friends to the end!"
09:55 "Nice, Mousy!"
09:57 "Friends are just like family, and family just like friends!"
10:02 "I always keep my promises on that you can depend."
10:06 "The lesson here is friendship, Mr. Lion, see?"
10:10 "Friendship is a gift that always sets you free!"
10:14 "Ahhhh!"
10:16 "So, so is this a story about lions that get trapped?"
10:24 "No, silly! It's about friendship and kindness."
10:30 "It sure is! It's about always being there for your friends!"
10:35 "Yay! I like that!"
10:37 "Sweet!"
10:39 "Let's tell the story of the boy and the wolf and the sheep!"
10:44 "Oh, the little boy who cried wolf!"
10:46 "Why would he cry wolf?"
10:48 "Because he didn't know how to say 'Waa'!"
10:51 "Joey, why don't you pretend to be the shepherd boy and tell us all about it?"
10:56 "Sure!"
10:57 "I'm a shepherd boy who plays the harp."
11:03 "I'm a shepherd boy who plays the harp."
11:07 "I'm a shepherd boy who tends his sheep."
11:10 "I try hard not to fall asleep."
11:12 "Sometimes it can get real slow watching all this green grass grow."
11:18 "Hey! I have an idea!"
11:23 "I think I'll play a little joke on all the local townie folks."
11:29 "I'll pretend a wolf came by, chased my sheep and made them cry."
11:35 "Hee-haw!"
11:37 "Um, help!"
11:39 "Yeah, yeah, help!"
11:41 "Help me, help me, a wolf appeared!"
11:46 "It chased my sheep!"
11:48 "We're all afeard!"
11:51 "Oh dear!"
11:52 "Oh no!"
11:53 "Oh no, that's bad!"
11:55 "Oh my!"
11:57 "We'd better run and help!"
12:00 "The villagers came out to see."
12:03 "The boy and sheep were quite carefree."
12:05 "The boy just laughed."
12:06 "I was kidding, guys!"
12:08 "But this was not a fun surprise."
12:11 "Shame on you for making us all worry!"
12:14 "We thought you and your flock were in trouble!"
12:17 "Oh, it was just a joke!"
12:19 "Can't you take a joke?"
12:21 "The next day passed and night dragged on."
12:24 "The boy made a plan in early dawn."
12:27 "I'll do it all again today!"
12:29 "So I'm not bored!"
12:30 "And he laughed away."
12:33 "Help me, help me, a wolf appeared!"
12:43 "It chased my sheep!"
12:46 "We're all afeard!"
12:48 "Oh no!"
12:49 "Oh dear!"
12:50 "Sounds like trouble!"
12:52 "So once again villagers climbed the hill to see."
12:56 "The sheep were fine!"
12:58 "The boy laughed."
12:59 "I was kidding, guys!"
13:00 "I think you'd better apologize!"
13:03 "Yeah!"
13:04 "Say you're sorry!"
13:06 "You tricked us again!"
13:08 "That's just not nice!"
13:10 "You lied to us!"
13:12 "It was just a joke!"
13:14 "The villagers were not happy."
13:17 "But the shepherd boy thought it was funny"
13:20 "That he once again tricked the townspeople."
13:23 "You bet!"
13:24 "One fine day while with his flock"
13:27 "A wolf appeared, the boy was shocked!"
13:29 "He cried out to the village folks."
13:32 "Help me please, this is not a joke!"
13:35 "Oh la dee da!"
13:37 "Would you like another cup of tea?"
13:39 "Don't mind if I do!"
13:41 "But no one paid attention then."
13:44 "Thought it was a joke again."
13:46 "They ignored the shepherd's plea."
13:48 "Just relaxed and drank their tea."
13:52 "Hey, this is not funny!"
13:55 "Help me, help me!"
14:00 "A wolf appeared!"
14:02 "It's chased my sheep!"
14:05 "We're all feared!"
14:08 "But sadly, no one came."
14:11 "The shepherd boy realized that no one believed him anymore."
14:16 "The boy came running into town."
14:19 "Everybody gathered round."
14:22 "He's the one who made us mad!"
14:24 "I'm sorry I behaved so bad."
14:28 "I really am."
14:31 "I've learned my lesson and I'll never lie again!"
14:35 "Hooray!"
14:38 "Well done!"
