00:45 You know how do you guys perform because we call this preseason game number one, so how you perform today? It's gonna be big deal
00:50 How is this scrimmage different than the other ones you have coming up like what's different with like how deep you'll go in the depth
00:57 Our allocation snaps things yeah, well, I will say this so the goal for today is we're gonna go
01:03 50/50 between the two quarterbacks
01:06 I mean, it's purely they'll both be with the ones the same number time to you same number time
01:10 And they're the only two guys are gonna take snaps today because we just want to we want to get as many
01:14 Game like situations as we can because they're both obviously either either one of them the exact same age they're both young they need to play football
01:21 So that's that's the cool so and then in regards to the rest of it
01:25 It's just we have a we have a set number we say for each
01:28 Group for each section and we just make sure we until we get to that point that we move to the next
01:32 No well they're good, they're not life. You know so it'll be similar to you know these tag off on
01:41 And we do use the for pocket presence
01:45 We use the few notes you use the flags because we're trying to teach them because they are young it's sometimes you get this hey the quarterbacks
01:53 You know so everybody runs away from the quarterback. You know which I get why you do that, but that's not the game, right?

02:00 We're trying to kind of compress the pocket a little bit on them and make them feel that so we put the flags to help

02:08 It's talking to Cameron Perry earlier in the week
02:10 And he talked about how he just he didn't have a ton of offers wasn't super highly ranked out of high school
02:15 I guess what do you remember about recruiting him and kind of watching him in high school?
02:18 Yeah, we were just looking for more dynamic players, and I just I loved the burst that he had you know
02:23 I knew he's playing high level high school football against really top talent in the country and
02:27 He impressed me on his ability to to make plays in space his ball skills were really elite
02:33 And I felt like that he had a burst to him that we wanted and he's fast
02:36 You know so it was more speed athleticism a little undersized
02:40 Which is probably affected you know where he's being recruited to so but at the same time you know we've had some really good players
02:45 It a little undersized here, so that's he fit the bill and we went after
02:49 Coach Shelby kind of in some corner kind of pointed out Kobe Miner as being a guy that's kind of stepped into a leadership role
02:55 Within a room without a lot of veteran presence there
02:57 How have you kind of seen him step into that role and what's kind of allowed him to earn that respect?
03:00 Well, you know he's a very confident guy
03:02 But he's kind of quiet and so when you see when a guy comes in new he's kind of feels himself
03:08 Out a little bit as far as with the group and the smart ones know not to say too much too soon
03:12 And he did a good job with that, but then with his work ethic. He's a talented player. He's got some link to him
03:18 He's got some good size to him, and he can run you know so
03:21 And I mean he came here with I had that expectation
03:24 You know he felt like he was a guy that you know had a chance to really you know come here do some great things
03:29 So I think once that all comes together, and then you prove yourself, then you start challenging
03:33 Okay, now you need to start and what I do with guys like I say you need to run that room
03:37 Yeah, you need to be the leader of that position group. Don't worry about giving pregame speech
03:40 You're not trying to you know run the whole defense
03:42 But you be the leader on that side of football in your position group and so he's responded to that and he's got his great
03:49 Personality and he's a good player

04:08 What they call how they respond when things aren't scripted and today's a lot won't be scripted so yeah
04:14 That's it's a really good test for both sides
04:16 But yes, that's for Matt part of that going into that the new clock rules and all that stuff
04:20 Yeah, it's the first time you guys have well. It'll be the first time we will have the mechanics of it

04:28 We had the big ten officials here last night talking to our team going through all that progression

04:35 It's the same as it used to be but up to that point the clock's gonna run so that would be a different

04:41 Defensively going into this I mean you've talked a lot about the quarterback and offense
04:45 What are you looking for from the defense and what are kind of concerns at this point through through fall camp?
04:50 Well first of all tackling so just because we haven't done a lot
04:55 So I want to see us tackle during the live periods and that's gonna be a big emphasis into me block destruction
05:00 So getting off blocks how well can we do that and how well can we tackle because to me?

05:17 And then Nico one of our kickers is nursing something so he's not gonna kick today
05:22 but I tell you Alex has kicked really really well and
05:25 He's he and Chris are battling as well, and so but those would be the three guys that aren't gonna go
05:30 I know you'd said before with the kickers that days like today could be important for that
05:35 I'm kind of written replicating the live reps how big of it how tough is it?
05:38 It's a big deal today to me. I want them to feel the pressure of the situation
05:42 You know you're on the sideline you're kicking you know run out there and kick three or four in a row
05:47 It's true game-like situation so how they handle that and how they perform so to me
05:52 It's just each best with counts the most that's what they got to do so yeah today's a big evaluation day for kickers
